We are currently investigating log in issues preventing some players from logging into the game. We'll keep you updated.

Me as well, on Khyber. I also get the "Getting in line to connect ..." & "failed to queue for server ... messages. So I tried the alternate launcher (my usual) & got an error message that states: "General Error accessing your account information. Try again later, ..."

Same when trying to connect to Sardona.

For what it's worth, & I have no idea if it would be related, but I did copy a toon over to Lamannia about an hour ago. Didn't seem to have any problems accessing my account at that time, nor did I have any problems logging on to Lamannia.

Trust me, you're not alone. I love this game, but the devs'/tech team's/whoever's track record has just been horrendous lately. First that mess on Friday night, then log-in issues following a four-hour maintenance period? Don't get me wrong; I know it's not an easy job, and I'm really trying to find a silver lining in all this.

Thanks for everything, Cordo. Despite all the flak people throw at you, we know it's not your fault and you're doing everything you can to make the problem better. :)

I triewd all the other servers with the same error message, failed to queue for the server on every one except Wayfinder :D

I was actually wondering that myself. Steam just updated, and I had trouble even connecting to Steam following said update. Then this happened... Though I fail to see how an issue with Steam would be preventing us from logging into DDO.

I was actually wondering that myself. Steam just updated, and I had trouble even connecting to Steam following said update. Then this happened... Though I fail to see how an issue with Steam would be preventing us from logging into DDO.

Mu software was downloaded directly without using Steam, in fact I have never used Steam for anything, and I am unable to log in too.

Mythdrannor. 2nd ed. My first gaming session with a new group, using a rogue created and then boosted to L14 to join in.

Mythdrannor was new enough to us that the party insisted on making noise and casting spells, just to see what would happen.

I could end there and let you fill in the blanks because anyone who knows anything about Mythdrannor knows that's a really bad plan. I was not one of you at that point...

So anyway. A short while into our exploration we're quite injured, and fighting a tanari, a wyvern and a young dragon (possibly green, can't quite remember).

The latter we had discovered in an abandoned roofless tower. Spells used in the fight caused the summoning of the tanari which came in through the front gate, blocking off our escape route. This protracted fight attracted a wyvern.

My rogue was sneaking up the stairs to jump onto the dragon and backstab it, but spotted the wyvern circling overhead. Deciding we didn't need more things in the fight, I ran up the stairs and heroically leaped instead onto its back as it flew past, and immediately backstabbed it with my precious wrist daggers, critting, and killing it instantly! Go me!

I'm awesome.

However, being as we were about a hundred feet up at this point, thing rapidly and literally went down from there. At high speed.

Landing on the injured dragon with the blunt trauma force of a wyvern falling as a dead weight from the sky killed it, just after it's last attack had finished off the the tanari (and injured some other party members). The party members (including me) survived that last breath weapon + the wyvern/rogue impact, but had mere moments to revel in the awesome before the tanari, having been killed, exploded as they are wont to do and threw the usual treasure shrapnel all over the place, lacerating the party and bringing down half the tower, ending the lives of all but the ranger. The ranger who was now stuck in the middle of myth drannor alone, following a massive battle and a huge explosion, which inevitably was going to mean more bad guys to deal with.

The ranger got away and eventually managed to get the party resurrected blah blah blah.

The point is I had to buy the pizza, for having nearly caused a TPK of a 2 year running L14 party in three dice rolls my first time out.

I'd be bitter if it hadn't immediately made me legendary enough to make me friends that I still have today.

yeah i'm in the same boat as well. i got to log in then that stupid loading screen crash then 5 failures to load from not finding my information to it taking too long to connect to another loading screen crash. yeah.

Not many that are short;...anyone have that friend ,who rolls their dice like a vagas shooter? my one buddy is that guy...wins every darn board game , mad dice skills surely help. Need an 01 ,on a d100 ? A rare roll indeed,or minor Telekinesis? he's actually playin star wars for some reason;come bak to ddo Hudak! Personally ,I roll way to many 20s when I DM...i actually switch between 1/2 a dozen dice to help players believe they roll fair.

When you run maintenance or restart the servers, don't forget to plug the power strip back in.

Edit: On a more serious note, I do feel a little cheated by the fact that I just recently bought 3 months of VIP, and the next 3-4 days are constant connection/server issues and down time. I just want to play.

Tried to buy a bell from the store. Took ages for the store to respond. Then item never appeared in inventory, even after waiting a few minutes.

Thought I would try disconnecting/reconnecting to see if it would appear....Bad Idea! Now can't log back in (and 30 ddo points lost).

I am among the people having issues logging in. However, I play both DDO and LOTRO, and they both are having the same issue. As these are both Turbine games, I think it is an issue with Turbine and not DDO or LOTRO themselves.

Yes, this issue is impacting both LOTRO and DDO. Asheron's Call and Infinite Crisis have not been affected.

Any update on this? I have played other mmo-type games in the past and I get that there will be occasional issues and scheduled downtime, but lately it seems that I've found myself unable to play frequently enough that I'm grumbling a bit.

so... that being said, at what point do I start seeing credits on my account since this is a service that I pay money for?

I imagine anyone looking for compensation may want to read your terms and conditions in regards to Turbine VIP for DDO. I believe they've covered themselves on that fact. Most companies wouldn't provide a dime back in any event such as outages ect.

Not that I'm interested in eploiting/cheating ect but how does card crunching and logins solve the problem? Just curious, thats all...

well your not the one complaining anyways but ppl saying i want compensation and credits to my account are out their minds, not like an outage would justify compensation of any kind and if it is given it is just a gift from turbine, not an obligation. just funny to see people acting like they are entitled to something for an unexpected accident

Seems to me that ddo is getting very good at braking while trying to fix lol, do we know a cause of the issue yet? seems like with EVERY update we catch a backlash of problems here lately. Starting to think U24 will be even worse. I don't see the point in adding more quests, more everything with a new update but cant fix old problems, seems to me somebody needs money lol

It would call it an "age of entitlement" unfortunately. I can understand a person's frustration but complaining for credits doesn't help. Sometimes you just have to accept it and go with the flow. If I was this disgrunted about the service, I would simply end my subscription and move on. But that's just me, and I haven't reached that point.

I am assuming that there are at least some very competent folks at Turbine who aspire to and do good work. But the performance issues of late are really causing me to wonder if they are not an endangered species.... I hope that when DDO does in fact close its doors, that those responsible for endlessly stepping on the same rake, dont get jobs where actual public safety is involved. I would suggest government be a good place to start, maybe The Department of Redundancy Department?...or the ever increasingly powerful Department of Obfuscation And Incompetence.

It isn't a question of entitlement either. It's an issue of getting what you pay for. You purchase 30/90 days of game time and lose some of them to technical issues (not just regular maintenance) and it's completely reasonable to want that time extended on your account. Blizzard used to be VERY good about this, and it's an example other game companies that use subscription models should follow. It's simply good customer service, and it shows appreciation and respect for your players.

I know the job of keeping the server going isn't easy, but this is becoming rather normal than an exception. I can't log in, maintenance is suppose to fix issues not cause more and then all we get is we are working on it, not a time table or an idea of how much longer we can't or aren't allowed to log in and play. I feel rather irritated and aggravated that there isn't more information on how long this is going to take to be able to log in. Seems unfair to those of us who aren't able to log and play with no choice of our own.

scary thought, since they should have been reading the messages since day one when they do an update system shuts down to ensure happy customers. An event which will last for an unknown time since they are investigating why it shut down in the first place.

that is a good point, but my point is just that people should realize things happen and it has been what, less than 3 hours and people are already acting like its been days, if it was even a day or 12 hours it would be more understandable, but the main point is that complaining about it doesnt help and your agree to not expect anything for these outages by agreeing to the terms of service.

BUT i do agree that it would not only be a kind gesture to reimburse subscribers but also a good thing for marketing and keeping current customers happy. i alos agree that when it is so frequent a shorter time can be more irritating than a day of downtime once every 5 years, which makes this more of an issue. another thing, it kind of defeats the purpose of good customer service when you have to ask for the reimbursement.

If you PAY for a service, then yes, by virtue of the service contract, you are "entitled" to use the service you are paying for. And before anyone decides to counter this with the notion that this is a "free" game (yeah right), I am a VIP as are many many other that are frustrated with this service outage.

I imagine anyone looking for compensation may want to read your terms and conditions in regards to Turbine VIP for DDO. I believe they've covered themselves on that fact. Most companies wouldn't provide a dime back in any event such as outages ect.

Actually, my cable company has credited my account for outages in my area in the past. I'm not seeking any compensation from Turbine, personally, but I felt that your statement was inaccurate compared to my personal experiences with most companies. Thanks!

Yeah but a day of DDO VIP status cost 30 something cents.

Usually DDO will have a bonus weekend with XP and loot buffs to comp for a big mess up like today.

I'd rather have that then a quarter credit on my account.

I vote for double XP, triple Guild Renown!

I want Commendations of Heroism dropping in the Harbor!

Maybe you haven't been online much this week, but this has been an intermittent issue for 4 (5?) days now. I'm simply saying that crediting an extra 3 days to the current VIPs would be a great gesture of good will to their players/customers. Someone else mentioned turning on an exp bonus. If they made an exp bonus weekend (for all players), that would be quite nice too. Really, any kind of "sorry for all the down time this week; here's something for your patience and understanding" would be much appreciated.

I don't want no canned response either Turbine, I want accountability like the rest of us do at our jobs that actually pay for this service.
I pity the day anyone in that IT department gets a real job for a big client and FUBARS their servers and update like you do ours.

After hours in a snow storm on Eastern coast ? I'm guessing the IT repair crew is skeletal at best until tomorrow.

They still might offer some kind of credit or XP bonus or something -- realize that they probably wouldn't announce anything like that yet, even if they were going to do it. For all they knew going into this problem it would be over in a couple of hours and that would be that.

I suspect the entire coding is one giant patch on other previous patches and has become one big birds nest of code.

From client crashes (where there used to be none), to all these server and lag issues, to various seemingly ignored exploits, I doubt I'll stick around much longer than it takes me to explore the newer Updates.

-Log in your password
-Spin around in your computer chair twice clockwise.

-Then toss a d20 over your left shoulder.
-Should load.

Yep, worked for me. I almost fudged it though by turning in my chair the wrong way. Had to start over.

We continue to work to resolve log in issues. At this time we do not yet have an ETA on when the worlds will reopen.
Have you changed the hamsters yet? Or given the option to whoever is meant to fix bugs to run in the wheel instead?
