View Full Version : FS best spell to take rebuilding with 9 levels of soul doing rebuild now help Please

I am at this moment rebuilding my FS and trying to figure out spell to take with 9 level of soul to start. I want to eliminate as much spell swapping as possible but it been 3 year since I was in the game so forgot what to take. I could really use a bit of help here Please

This list is for your build, it's not for a pure melee fvs, or a dedicated casting fvs.

It's also just my opinion, spell lists are fairly subjective.
In order of priority as you level:

1 Night shield > Divine Favor > Prot evil > Bless
2 Resist energy > Soundburst > Cure moderate > Deific Vengeance
3 CSW > Remove Curse > Magic Circle against evil > Prayer
4 Deathward > FOM > CCW > Divine power > Recitation (When you get Level 8 spells Swap out Deathward for Recitation)
5 True Seeing > Divine Punishment > Raise Dead > Greater Command
6 Blade Barrier > Heal > Cometfall
7 Mass CSW > Mass Protection from elements> Greater Restoration
8 Mass Deathward > Mass Cure Crit Wounds

Here is my opinion of a good set of spells for selection

1 Night shield > Divine Favor > Bane* > Bless
2 Resist energy > Soundburst > Cure moderate > Find Traps **
3 CSW > Searing Light*** > Magic Circle against evil > Prayer
4 Deathward > FOM > Divine power > Recitation (I recommend Panacea if you are using Mass Deathward - It cures a lot of minor ills)
5 True Seeing > Divine Punishment > Spell Resistance ****> Greater Command
6 Blade Barrier > Heal > Cometfall
7 Mass CSW > Mass Protection from elements> Destruction
8 Mass Deathward > Symbol of Death

* Bane does not have a Spell Resistance, but does have a will save but it effectively raises the AC of Melee by 1 and also reduces the saves by 1 of the target
** With a moderate Search skill and gear investment in Int and Search item this can help to search out secrete doors
*** While not the highest DPS light spell out there, due to its cheap cost it can work rather well to add additional DPS for any FvS using Light spell damage
**** While Spell Resistance is not the favorite spell of many. It can give you additional protection against spells, Even 20% protection is worth it.

Having a couple Single target and at least one Mass Cure spell will generally be good enough in most situations. The only reason to have multiple Mass Spells is if you are playing as the Primary Healer for Raids most of the time and the newer raids don't lend themselves to that as the party is much more spread out to gain the efficiency that Mass Cure Spells use to gain.

Spells like Restoration work just as well from scroll as they do from Spell points. I actually recommend using scrolls also for Raising. Yes this does put more pressure on the Concentration Roll, but in the long run it will allow you to have more spells available to you for other things that happen.

Believer it or not I am still hanging at leveling to 9th level I made a comment in our original thread on a few ideas I wanted to run past u since u pretty much made the build

well I used to use to stuff like find traps but really now days every one has some splash rogue I really would not take that this is the first time I even see anyone recommend it. thats a job for a clickie IMHO

Panacea is a great spell till u get heal I have been wondering why more don't use it anymore it was standard in my FS build back in the day

I take FOM before Death Ward I know thats odd but I have 2 pairs of goggles I carry with 14 min of death ward total so that make it shrine to shrine easy

Spell resistance I have not used much at one point it was worthless as it was not working at all unless they fixed it by now so that I don't know I mostly craft items to give me that full time
