I am coming back to the game and I see a lot of builds etc. Is there a good rogue that can disarm/open, do some fighting when need be( I know assassinate). what are god weapons for rogues besides daggers? Is splashing a good idea or just going full rogue?
I am sorry if all this has been asked etc. but would really like help from someone who is/has done a Rogue to help, I want to be able to do well in groups and also have lots of fun. A lot has changed since I was gone so to speak. i have 32 point build, VIP, and i will be human.
Thanks all in advance
John

Check out Hassan's Assassin in my sig. It's built for endgame so it may or may not fit your goals but it should at least give you some things to consider.

If you want an assassin, stay pure to boost your DC. If you want to go acrobat, then splashing has a lot to offer. The monk staff enhancements stack with the ones from rogue. 6 monk also gets you shadow veil. If you want a repeater build, well, go artificer. :)

If you're going with assassin, there is no better weapon choice than daggers due to the assassin tier 5 knife specialization enhancement.

Regarding trap skills, they are mostly dependent on gear, so any build with at least one level of either rogue or artificer can disable nearly every trap in the game. Just max your skill ranks each level and carry the highest gear for your level (spot, search, disable, open lock, good luck, and int items, +5 tools, as well as heroism pots and greater heroism scrolls when you can use them).

Hope that helps.

While I agree with you overall, prior to lvl 12, regular kukris are better DPS than regular daggers because of their larger crit range; but daggers & kukris have identical crit specs once you take Knife Spec at lvl 12. There are a lot more named daggers than kukris, which gives you more options when leveling (e.g., lvl 4 SPD (http://ddowiki.com/page/Item:Sky_Pirate%27s_Dagger), lvl 12 GotL (http://ddowiki.com/page/Item:Guardian_of_the_Liturgy), lvl 20 Sacrificial Dagger (http://ddowiki.com/page/Sacrificial_Dagger), lvl 23 Agony (http://ddowiki.com/page/Agony,_the_Knife_in_the_Dark)); the only worthwhile named kukri is eMG (http://ddowiki.com/page/Epic_Midnight_Greetings), IMHO. OTOH, when it comes to crafted weapons (GS, alchemical, TF), the only difference is dmg type for DR purposes.

OP: one of the nice things about the U19 Enhancement overhaul is PrEs are no longer mutually exclusive. See my Mechassin build for one example of a TWF Assassin + repeater Mechanic.
