Hi

I don't play healers and never really examined heal amp, other than more was always better. However, now with a Bladeforged life coming up, I was wondering if anyone could give me help with real life experiences of the Bladeforged SLA for reconstruct, heal amp and positive energy healing; plus the maths behind some of the results.

I am not in game to verify any of the calculations. As a start...

Heal amp

Base 40%

Other boosts (stacking multiplicatively)
Heal Amp Item 30%
3x Paladin PL 15%
4x Shintao core abilities 20%
Airship healer 10%

Basic heal amp 40% * 1.3 * 1.15 * 1.2 * 1.1 = 79%

Same calculation for a fleshy (no penalty) would hit 197%. That is, if the above calculations are correct, a fleshy is healed for 2.5x as much as a Bladeforged by the same positive energy heal spell (e.g. Mass Heal). Nasty, oh so nasty...

Reconstruct spellpower

Reconstruct red slot augment 138
Repair skill 42 (incl. epic skills, completionist, int bonus, tome, full ranks)
Total 180
Modifier to effect on reconstruct effectiveness 1:1
Increase in repair effect self cast SLA 180%

Reconstruct healing

Base reconstruct for 150 points. Assumes no repair amp effects.
Reconstruct after spellpower would heal for 150 x (1+1.8) = 420 hps (excluding repair amp)

However, I know that the SLA heals for more than that. Can someone help me piece together the calculations?

How much are you being reconstructed for? Healed by the Heal spell for?

How much does cocoon heal you for per tick (not that it would be effective)? How much does the Fast Healing Primal PL passive heal you per tick?

Many thanks

Fafhryd

I you considered the Repair Systems enhancement?

Repair Systems: Choose whether to embrace your construct nature, or strive for humanity. Choose one:
Healer's Friend: Your penalty to Positive Energy Healing is reduced from 60% to 50%/40%/30%.
Mechanist: You gain +1/+2/+3 Repair skill and 10%/15%/20% more healing from Repair effects.

Hey Varz. I left it out of both of the calculations above... but not out of my Excel spreadsheet that does all of the various calculations (running 8 scenarios at the moment). The reason for that was I evaluating whether or not you can have adequate base healing for divine/mass heals when in groups and raids, or just heal yourself exclusively with repair. The choice of Repair Systems follows suit.

Even though heal and reconstruction hit he same max - 150, a main (or off) healer will potentially have CL level boosts as well. Even so I'd probably take Healer's Friend as positive healing is likely the main source in group situations.

Cocoon gives you 150 temporary HP for 9 seconds. Heals 5d6 (= 17.5 * bonus) HP every 2 seconds while the shield persists. So 5 ticks at 17.5 is 87.5 * bonuses. With just empowered healing that is 153 HP * heal amp every 12s. Or 150HP + ~300 HP / 12s with 200% heal amp.

Does positive spell power effect cocoon?

Compare this to the BF SLA at 420 every 6s or 840 HP every 12s.

If cocoon is enough to keep you up, then the BF SLA should be enough as well.

The problem is that Cocoon is awesome for EN/EH and somewhat useless in EE if you are wanting to stay in combat - when the mobs are hitting enough to wipe off the rune, then you get no healing at all (although the rune is still helpful). Hence why the BF SLA is interesting.

That'a very fair point in the difference between HOTs and burst heals. Combination of cocoon+bursty heal like csw is likely most effectively for fleshies.

I get the sense from the solo EE videos I've seen that melee EE is a lot about layered avoidance - displacement clickys, incorp/ghostly, etc.

Ill try weigh in here with in game experience.

I used to chase max possible ealing amp on my main, munkeno, whether as wf or as fleshy. Since tring him into a bladeforged (16monk/2wiz/2fighter), ive dropped all my healing amp gear completely. (Googling "munkenmo woodfist" should bring up my build)

The reconstruct sla has been enough to get me through all content on all dificulty levels.
Not having to spend a twist on rejuvenation cocoon is icing on the cake.

I have seen it and it is a nice build. I have tried a few variations but yours is good.

Q: How much does your reconstruct heal you for?

Q: How large is your SP pool and how often do you run out of points? If you do, what are your options for replenishing your pool? Clearly you can use a shrine or pot so put that aside.

I've got ~700sp now.

My recon heals me 550+ hp now.

The main reason I shrine is to reset my actionboosts. I do have some concord op boots equiped most of the time atm whils I experiment with news gear layouts. As a bit of a joke once, I tried torcing in front of a group of ee arcers, turns out ive got enough defences to make torcing a viable option.

That said, I dont seriously use torcing as a way to regen sp, ive not yet used a pot for my sp bar, and can still count on one hand the times ive shrined for sp over actionboosts.

Sub-optimal past life/levelling build results

16/2/2 build with 2 paladin (i.e. not a LR life):
- 0 in repair amp BF action points
- repair skill not unlocked, so at half points
- no repair amp item (BF iconic trinket) or repair skill item
.... repair returns about 220 hps

Same build, level 27, level 24 recon red slot augment:
....repair returns about 410 hps

Running with 700 spellpoints in Fatesinger. Zero problems with spellpoints in almost all quests.

You can easily see how you can heal > 500 per cast.

What is your second 2 level splash? Repair is a fighter class skill.

That is true, of course. However, I need to take fighter levels at 19 and 20 in my build at this time. That means I only have repair as a class skill right at the end, and don't have enough points in fighter levels to spend on UMD, concentration and repair to cover it all. In my final build, I will have repair as a class skill earlier.

A couple of minor quibbles with your numbers.

1st a Bladeforged starts with .45 not .4 for healing amp. That's what I see in the game and what the wiki shows.

Second the Shintao cores stack multiplicatively so 4 cores would be .22 not .2.

But your basic premise is correct, unless you take healers friend, amp is difficult on a bladeforged monk.

My main is currently a bladeforged monk, but he runs with a bard, so he went the healers friend route, and with .1 and .2 on his dragontouched docent, hes at a little over 200% amp.

I dont have Bladeforge but I have Warforged so this is a good topic for me also as I level my Juggernaut. I know that WF/BF get at racial +20% Repair Amp. Where else can u get Repair amp%? Any items in game that give that effect also?

I know Repair skill increases the spell power of Reconstruct/Repair spells, but does Spellcraft also?

Ive already got a +114 Reconstruct Red augment for slot on my weapon, but does Universal Spellpower do anything to concern with a slot/item?

Thanks Guys!

The only way to get repair amp is that racial enhancement, there are no other sources in the game.

The only skill that effects repair/reconstruct spell power is repair.

You universal spell power question doesn't quite make sense to me, but ill try answer the best I can.
The most common forms of universal are :
potency items (which dont stack with your augment)
Enhancements, which do stack with your augment.

Either way, given you've got the repair augment universal spell power is not really worth worrying about. Its better than any potency item you're likely to find.

Bladeforged icon trinket is 10% repair amp. Comes free in your bladeforged equip box.

I play a bladeforged 16M/2F/2FVS (Svinjedet of Argonessen). I have 20ish ranks in repair, a +138 repair augment, and the 20% enhancement. I don't use the repair amp trinket. I repair myself from I believe 507 to over 570, depending on not sure what (maybe power of the forge).

I do not wear any healing amp gear as I don't feel like healing amp would be helpful. In EE generally for a build like mine (pure melee) the main danger is incoming burst melee damage. Some mobs hit pretty hard in EE, especially in the newer content. I only have like 800-900 HP and low PRR. I couldn't rely on other people to heal me in time. But quickened reconstruct for >500 HP does the job pretty well.

Communion of Scribing is better than coccoon, SF pots or heal scrolls, it is almost as good as my human paladin's self-healing and getting to that point was a huge investment on the paladin while you get it for very little investment (in effort, AP, item slots...) as BF, allowing you to concentrate on other things - I think it is best to capitalize on that, instead of trying to fight the uphill healing amp battle from .45 base. Example: I could wear one of the +30% HA gloves. But I much rather wear Backstabber's. I also have a pair of +30%/parrying bracers in my bank yet I use some +8 stat/parrying to save an augment slot... That's how much I have come to value amp on this character.

Another advantage is that you don't need to be 20+ for your self-healing to shine. It just works, from level 15 to 28. Communion of Scribing is the ****. I couldn't care less how much coccoon heals me for. I honestly have no idea.
