Hey all,
I'm thinking on solo stuff at leveling 1 to 20. So, I have 2 Cleric's life and 3 Wizards, my next goal is put more 3 Favored Soul's.
What do you thing about that build?

Interesting, since you have high wis then any other ability score, it means you want to be evoker (mostly) right? and 3 rouges for evasion and trapping. Are you VIP? and you want to lvl up as soon as possible?

But if you are not going to use the Rogue Trees, why are you using 3 levels of Rogue, and thus losing your 9th level spell slot, as opposed to going 2 rogue and just get traps and evasion?

Tried it multiple times and failed.
Divine trappers are very difficult to build.

Suggest you go pure and get blade barrier earlier.
Empower/Maximize/Wizard Past Life
Quicken/Heighten/Spell Pen

Monk 2 / Favored Soul 18 with Stunning Fist is another good option.

Also Fighter 2 / Favored Soul 18 if you wish to melee some.
Pick your weapon type (what greensteels do you have) and build around it?

Any of these will make you happier in the long run.
Trap bonuses are nice, but zerging with a blade barrier will get you just as much xp per minute imho.

Yes, Evoker is my dps focus orientation, the 3 rougues is for evasion and trapping. Yes, I'm VIP. I want level up soon as I can!

I'll use the rogue tree during the leveling process, until get Blade Barrier, I intend to use Quarterstaff as a primary weapon. I thought 3 rogue 'cause I was going Dex based through lvl 1 to 15... then use a free reincarnation to swap to Str Based. I mean desconsidering Wis that will still 18!

I've considered the 18/2 with monk splash... but my main objetive is avoid traps getting their XP.
It is a bit difficult, but I want to try like a test to use in my main toon!

I ran up a 15/3/2 FVS/Fi/Rog - I had no real problem with trapping - I had 6 skill points in a FVS levels so I could get DD/Search/UMD maxed at all levels - so I had no problem with traps all the way up to L18 on elite quests.....at that point though it got iffy in some quests - but thats about when I always gear down to Hard for speed questing anyway.

I ran up a 15/3/2 FVS/Fi/Rog - I had no real problem with trapping - I had 6 skill points in a FVS levels so I could get DD/Search/UMD maxed at all levels - so I had no problem with traps all the way up to L18 on elite quests.....at that point though it got iffy in some quests - but thats about when I always gear down to Hard for speed questing anyway.

I would not cram all of the rogue into a single span right at the beginning. Better to space those levels out to take the most advantage of your skillpoints (particularly since you have the tomes to support a reasonable int later on).

I did not see Find Traps in your spell selection. That's a giant mistake. It gives a great big boost to your Search skill, and level 2 spells are damned near worthless once you have Cure Moderate Wounds and Resist Energy. It also gives you the ability to drop a few points out of Search and give a small boost to other skills...like Spellcraft, which is very low.

Holy Aura is garbage now. Don't even bother with it. Go with Symbol of Death or Mass Death Ward.

I'll use the rogue tree during the leveling process, until get Blade Barrier, I intend to use Quarterstaff as a primary weapon. I thought 3 rogue 'cause I was going Dex based through lvl 1 to 15... then use a free reincarnation to swap to Str Based. I mean desconsidering Wis that will still 18!

Umm. The Free LR does not let you change the classes you piked to start with, it pretty much is just limited to fixing your starting stats, and general look of the toon, unless you are talking about the +20 heart. in which case it does not matter what you made to start with, as long as you only took two classes, and then go FvS/Monk for Evasion/Spell casting.

However as a player with 4 Wiz/Rogues now, I will say, split it up, Take your Rogue Levels at 1, 8, 16, that way you will be able to play catch up with skills that will fall behind.

Tried it multiple times and failed.
Divine trappers are very difficult to build.

Suggest you go pure and get blade barrier earlier.
Empower/Maximize/Wizard Past Life
Quicken/Heighten/Spell Pen

Monk 2 / Favored Soul 18 with Stunning Fist is another good option.

Also Fighter 2 / Favored Soul 18 if you wish to melee some.
Pick your weapon type (what greensteels do you have) and build around it?

Any of these will make you happier in the long run.
Trap bonuses are nice, but zerging with a blade barrier will get you just as much xp per minute imho.

If you going to be evoker then, you need to follow this guy advice :)

18 con, 18 wis, rest to charisma if you are on 3rd life +. I'm glad to hear that you are VIP, because fvs evokers are almost godlike in level 1 - 19 quests due to their
very high damaging blade barrier with max, empower on. You can farm so many quests, even solo them smoothly! :)
Now, this is the tricky part.. many monsters have high reflex save in mid level quests.. You would need to have high reflex save on bb and evocation focus item, feats..

As you may know, fvs get better saves which might be good for some evasion builds, but not enough reflex save for this build.
Fvs are basically, hard to build class as an evoker.. who also want to do something other then killing.. Wis for Dc, charisma for mana (spell casting) and you also going to need Con..
plus you want to build fvs with evasion and capable of doing traps so, you going to need dex and int at some points... that's just too much for fvs evoker.

I really hate to say this, but.. I'm afraid you have to give up on this build and go pure evoker or 18 fvs / 2 monk - 18 fvs/ 2 fighter.. 18 fvs/ 2 druid?.. you get wolf form and be able to attack fast +
summon wolfy.. you can always summon him and let him sit near the exist (entrance) so, when you die he can grab ur stone :P (very situational lol)

Before you tell the guy to give up, my wife played a FvS/Rogue and she made it trapping able (Was not sure sure if we ran elite streak back then tho) and it was before Epic Levels, but, still, she pulled it off for Heroic.

The extra skill point for being human helps that build a lot... the extra feat isn't bad on a divine either.

Human enhancements to get GH (unless you always run with an arcane) as it helps with traps alot. Rogue enhancements - 2pt in assassin for SA damage, Mechanic 7pts for trapping skills, Warpriest for enough points to get Divine power(permanent +6str and BAB of fighter) (and ameliorating strike) rest of AP in AoV - I got to archon with a bit of fiddling - not absolutely needed but I like my shoulder cannon.

I've read then and I stood amazed by the ways you're given me ideas to raise this crazy idea!
And I studied a little your opinions and did some changes to the initial concept. I'm not ready to give up this build yet... but, I'm open for changes and had thought in swap 2 rogues levels to 2 monks to still having evasion and earn some monk goods in low lvl to DPS and defense provided by AC using outifits/robes, since I will have huge Wis!

What do you suggest more?

Before you tell the guy to give up, my wife played a FvS/Rogue and she made it trapping able (Was not sure sure if we ran elite streak back then tho) and it was before Epic Levels, but, still, she pulled it off for Heroic.

Yes, fvs can do traps, but I mean.. it's not nessecary for those who want to level up asap.
Why would evoker fvs want to give up on spellcraft?, trapping skills are not fvs main skill and It should be Spellcraft, concentration, jump etc.. Monks are very good btw for this, stances for better saves, DC. Extra feats and more.. Fvs best offense spell would be available at level 12 and at level 18 implosion, that has ability to kill 5 monsters. Fvs can't just have high AC, High damaging spells, trapping skills, high evation.. All together Ps: It's my dream fvs btw :p

Like, you need so much preparation for this build.. For example, how fvs trapper evoker going to manage disarming traps in feast of famine, VoN or even.. Necro 4?.. You need blade barrier at level 12 right? You also need 2 rouges for trapping, always switch gear between trapper and evoker. Even wiz/rouge build can't handle necro 4 traps.. To add one more thing, fvs need as high hp as possible and spell power

With Quicken active, you don't need concentration, and FvS normally have the SP to burn to make this Meta a viable option.

Eh? Which necro 4 traps are you talking about that a Wiz/Rogue can't handle? I have now 3 lives as a Wiz/Rogue on my main, and to date.. only 1 Trap has ever stopped me... only 1 (Stupid Trapped chest in Cabal of One)

Hey guys, nice replies!
I've read then and I stood amazed by the ways you're given me ideas to raise this crazy idea!
And I studied a little your opinions and did some changes to the initial concept. I'm not ready to give up this build yet... but, I'm open for changes and had thought in swap 2 rogues levels to 2 monks to still having evasion and earn some monk goods in low lvl to DPS and defense provided by AC using outifits/robes, since I will have huge Wis!

What do you suggest more?

But, lets take a moment for one second tho. How you going to kill monsters without blade barrier from level 1 - 14? You have absolute zero aoe spells that is effective. You also don't have very huge wisdom for powerful blade barrier. Your CC spells like, greater command and soundburst will be useless and waste in middle levels due to high dc saves. Even in some lower levels (quest). You need maximize, empower and also quicken, because your concentration is too low. Trust me, I personally play fvs evoker and I know how hard it would be for you with this build.. Please don't do it.. Because it's like playing a necro wizard with evocation focus and sorcerer multi class because it's better dps.. I'm sure many people will agree. I'm always here to help! This person not going to have good times in quest. Yes, btw - usually fvs have high SP to burn, but just take a look on how much important stuff he is missing. Have you ever played fvs? This is going to kill him mate.. I though this person wanted decent solo build for fvs trapper and evoker, but it mean to be for fast leveling asap. In that case, trapping is not nessecery.

Evoker FvS, human - build for max DC and highest damage possible.

Stats: 8/17(18)/8/18/14. Max Constitution or keep it at 17, always max wisdom and rest to charisma.

Feats: level 1 fvs, [Empower Spell] and [Toughness]. -
- level 3 fvs, [quicken].-- level 6 fvs, [Wizard past life feat] -- level 9 fvs, [maximize]. -- level 12 fvs, [evocation focus] -
at this point you are able to use "Blade Barrier" with maximize, empower and quicken = now you can call
yourself a true evoker! -- level 15 fvs, [greater evocation focus] -- "level 18, [heighten]. <- for highest possible DC blade barrier.

Now, the reason why you have to take empower at level 1 would be, because you have high SP to burn and empower cost only 15sp plus you can apply that to any healing spells which is life saver. quicken at level 3 is for fast casting, you don't want to take any other caster feats like, maximize.. it's mana consuming and
you have no real powerful spells at this level. level6, now that you have some nice aoe control spell... You might want to get wiz past life feat for 1 extra dc to all
spells, ontop of that magic missies x10 per rest (situational) make sure once you get it, you permanently turn empower, quicken on. level 9, you are one step ahead from BB, you need to get maximize just in case, also make sure you add that to Magic Missies SLA. level 12, finally -- welcome to evocker world lol
evocation focus for precious Blade barrier's DC!. level 15, greater evocation focus (many mobs will have reflex save now, depends on quest).
Finally level 18, your last feat would be heighten...

I suggest you to go pure fvs evoker level 20, because you get extra SP. I'm sure you wonder where did /2 monk go.. and I want evasion. but,
18 fvs/ 2 monk is more like for end game, you don't really need evasion. You have to build fvs differently then. You always can just kite mobs using blade barrier and activate jump of faith in order to escape from bad situation later.

Enhancement: Start with Angel of vengeance = unlock AoV, tier one: Smiting x 1, Scourge x 1. Tier two, Smiting x 1, Scourge x 2. tier tree: Smiting x 1, Wisdom x 1+. tier four: Smiting x 1, wisdom 1+. Now at this point you will be.. level 7 I believe :) You still want to take some cool stuff from AoV.. like intense faith or Efficient Meta-magic etc.. but before all that, you need to take zealous faith and evocation focus from tier five.. it will be available at level 12 so, lets move to war priest now :) tier one: Toughness x 3. tier two: Wall of steel x 3, Infame x 1. tier tree: Wisdom x 1 +, Burden of Sin x 2. tier four: wisdom x 1+, now.. once you get that, lets go back to AoV and finish what we started there. Tier five: Zealous faith x 1, Evocation focus +1. Now, max Intense faith, Zealous faith and efficient Meta-magics if you wish, Animus is (optional). At this point.. level 13 or 14.. maybe 15, I'm not sure.. But, you should have Summon Archon from AoV and permanent blur from War..

Evoker FvS, human - build for max DC and highest damage possible.

Stats: 8/17(18)/8/18/14. Max Constitution or keep it at 17, always max wisdom and rest to charisma.

Feats: level 1 fvs, [Empower Spell] and [Toughness]. -
- level 3 fvs, [quicken].-- level 6 fvs, [Wizard past life feat] -- level 9 fvs, [maximize]. -- level 12 fvs, [evocation focus] -

I just checked. No, you cannot take Extend as a L1 Rogue.Absolutely correct - I was going off memory - swap extend and TWF....which means I started with 15 dex I guess. Also presumes +2 dex tome to get GtwfAs to Angelic Council - you can play a FVS without worry about DC's - as long as you are willing to go the melee route. And the warpriest options are very good for DPS and self(and group) healing with ameliorating strike.I have taken my build to L26 so far and have had no problems soloing elites to L17 then either grouped for L18 and above or geared down to hard. I could have done elite but it's a pain in the keister. In epic levels I solo eH content with no issues at all and when playing with others I can handle healing as needed (rarely need spot heals due to ameliorating strike). I can get traps with no problems with just standard gear and my dps is strong enough that I am not a liability when in a bad destiny (EA, US, GMOF on a nonmonk) and supremely rocks out in LD and is pretty good in FotW (unbridled charges in no time). I ran with a guy in the 12/6/2 bladeforged abomination and yes I was behind in kills but I was second - got traps - healed others in group once in a while when needed and I was in shadowdancer at the time.You can do a lot more with a FVS than just cast BB and Implosion. My casts are the no DC spells - DP, Searing light, nimbus.....buffs and heals. Don't give up on your trapping plan if you don't want to....infact you don't even need to if you are going mainly caster....
