Need some advice on bringing my Halfling 17clr/2mnk/1rog up to speed after a long hiatus. I have my free +20 HoW to fix her up, if needed. I'm not sure if the build/concept is still viable, or if she needs to be made into something new. The new enhancements are somewhat daunting, and the warpriest tree doesn't seem to mesh with her current high dex.

Likes/wants: handwrap using/centered/melee, traps/locks, umd, decent healing capability.
Not necessary: offensive casting. It would be nice to be able to still kite stuff through BB if needed, but I'm not worried about a lot of dmg spell casting.

Current stats:
Str 23 (12 Base, +3 tome, +8 effect)
Dex 30 (17 Base, +2 tome, +9 effect)
Con 16 (10 base, +2 tome, +4 effect ) currently in lesser wind stance
Int 12 (10 base, +2 tome)
wis 32 (21 base, +4 time, +1 feat, +6 effect)
cha 21 (11 base, +2 tome, +2 feat, +6 effect)

Gear, nothing special now, as I've been away for awhile, but I used to use a pair of holy/icy burst stunning handwraps and my rings have shocking and acid burst on them. So lots of dmg numbers, just...very small numbers.

Druids are new since I left, would this be something better done as a melee druid than a warpriest?

Edit:
I guess I should have mentioned my current feats as well...
Emp healing, extend, TWF, Imp TWF, Maxiimize, Power attack, quicken, toughness, weapon finesse

Thanks in advance!

If you want to go with a DEX based cleric, I think a great option is a 17 cleric / 3 rogue. You can take the weapon finesse feat and then take the enhancement "Dagger in the Back" in the assassin enhancement tree, which is accessible for lvl 3 rogues. This combo would allow you to use DEX for attack and damage for almost any single handed weapon. Only problem is feats will be really tight, especially since you are halfling.

that would rule out using handwraps tho, correct?

If so, I've been running an updated one for the last few years.

Based on your goals, they are very similar to how I run my build now. My last update is post #135 -> https://www.ddo.com/forums/showthread.php/292100-Valiance-2-0-Solo-focused-cleric/page7

Though the update is a year old, I haven't changed any of the stats nor my gear too much so I think you can get way with just using a simple lesser reincarnate stone and adjust your stats and feats.

When grouping, I typically run Unyielding Sentinel for really challenging EE content and twist as much reflex saves as I can (64 with ship buffs), 113 AC (doesn't matter all that much) and over 900 HP.

I also dual wield Celestias or use Grave Wraps or Antipodes for Stunning Fist (as high as 68 with LD Tactics twisted in).

I'll finally be TR'g to get a few past lives done but I will return to the above build in the end because I enjoyed it so much.

Valiance build, yes. =)

I'll go take a look at the updated info. I'm not ready to jump into EEs just yet, still relearning things, but good to know it's still a viable concept/build.

This is probably what I'd go for, I have a 17clr/2mnk/1ftr Human and I find myself strapped for feats, Adept+master of forms to qualify for the +1 crit multiplier (always sit in earth stance). Power attack, twf, itwf, gtwf and Icrit: bludgeoning, your basic dps feats: Blinding speed at Ptwf as epic dps feats. Quicken, Emp heal, maximise for metas, healing and some spell dps. (dp and bb namely).

Enhancements: 32ap in radiant servant for aura and regenerating turns, full halfling cores for saves, 13 ap in shintao for deft strikes (10% more off-hand strikes bringing total to 90%) and 15% more PRR in earth stance, rest in warpriest: Smites, DMs, PRR, Inflame, Blur spell and wisdom.

Im considering going a valiance version next live (was normal clonk before), and I think an arti instead of a rogue level is an interesting option. But the more I check the new rogue enhancements, the less interesting arti looks

arti lvl pros:
-repeater proficiency+rapid reaload (rocks at low lvls)
-dog for pulling levers (even better soloing)
-more spellpoints
-arti spells (create bolts, masters touch)

rogue pros:
-2 reflex save,
-1d6 sneak
-Mechanic enhancements (+3 trap saves, disable, open lock/search, spot)

edit: Nowadays, +3 tomes are common enough to go for 14 base dex. I had 18 base wis in my last clonk life but will drop to 16 to get 14 int in a valiance life.

While I don't have access to Arti, I think that about sums it up. Besides the above, I really liked rogue as it was super useful for leveling as I could pretty much get all the traps in game with gear (with the exception of newer content with their super high DC's).

I think neither outweighs the other tremendously so the decision really becomes one of preference or play style.

Thanks for the help, Chewy. The lvls were a bit off from what I had, but it still worked out. =)

My pleasure! Let me guess... it was probably the Rogue level that I took at 8? I did that because I had a +2 tome to Int that kicked in so it actually give me more skill points as a Rogue than taking the Rogue earlier as the original Valiance build specified.

My other advice is enjoy your Epic leveling and grinding for gear... don't get too discouraged by your melee or lack of uberness at first compared to others (who have maxed out their Epic Destinies because they do really tip the balance of power for most builds today).

You will always be welcome as a healer in groups and your high survivability (to avoid damage, not necessarily heal through it) is a huge bonus.

Cheers - Rockridge

I did something similar to the poster above, 17 cleric, 2monk, 1 fighter.

however, I went with power attack, cleave, great-cleave, IC-pierce. I went wisdom based for the stunning fist DCs.

You get shortsword proficiency with the ninja monk.

Based on what I'm fighting, I'll use either handwraps (para/stunning, or holy/stunning), or a combination of Lit2 swortswords, envenomed blades, or silver/holy/greater outsider banes, triple positives...

32 points for the aura, 10% offhand from shintao, Dodge/short sword from ninja monk. The rest I've played around in DD or WP. Either is fine, but since I don't use longswords, one key aspect of WP is lost (righteous weapons). Will be interesting to see how the build holds up in epic content..

So far (L18) the toon has been a blast.

I haven't had much time to play her, since the LR, but it feels like there is still something wrong. It takes so long to kill stuff. Maybe I'm just expecting too much from her. =) In the meantime, I TRed my 19clr/1ftr into a druid/rogue, and I'm having a blast.
