This account does not have half-elf or half-orc. I don't think it has monk, but can't remember for sure (at work).

Anyways since this level 23 pure FVS is gathering dust I thought I might use the various forms of LR to make her a long bow using FVS that can still heal raids. Does anyone have some good builds or suggestions?

I would think splashing two ranger would give you all the main bow feats that you would really need. Keep it a str build if you are just looking to raid heal, so you won't have to worry about wisdom DC's. Some divine might would boost your str further. Ranger splash would also give you a +75 boost to devotion for healing. Should work out well. Go silver flame for bonuses with longbow. You'll need a Dex of 17, which I would try and get with a tome, for Manyshot. You will need a Dex of 21 for Combat Archery, if you have a high enough tome I'd sacrifice a few points in str to get the dex high enough, otherwise I would pass it up in favor of str.

Being feat starved unless someone posts something different I would go human for the additional feat.

Feats to take:
Precise Shot
Point Blank Shot
Manyshot
Empower Healing
Quickening
Maximize
IC: Ranged

As a human that would leave you with 1 more for flavor and taste. Might get IC: Slashing since you will also get TWF for free as a ranger to help your damage at the times you are going to have to put the bow away.

I am not super familiar with the AOV tree, so not sure about what the Teir 5 offer there. But the Teir 5 in Warpriest would give you a BAB equal to a fighter which would definitely get you over the +16 BAB for four arrows per attack with manyshot. I am not sure if the ranger splash would get you there. Though alot of the Warpriest tree is melee focused. might not be worth it.

Just some rough thoughts for you.

I do not have artificer on this account.

Right now it is an evoker build but looking at options to see what I might change up. First thought is to keep it a pure FVS but I do realize that might not be possible and get the needed bow feats.

Ranger splash would also give you a +75 boost to devotion for healing.
This has gotten nerfed; you can only pick up 40 Pos Spellpower on a rgr splash now.

OP: I'm presuming by "raid healer" you want Mass Heal, Emp Heal, and Quicken. That means you need at least FvS 18; fortunately, it also means we can ignore WIS / DCs if you don't care about offensive spells.

I agree w/Panzer that you should have a rgr splash to get Bow STR and T1 enhs, esp. if you don't have monk. Then it's a toss-up between rgr 2 or ftr 1, IMHO: either gets you an extra feat (Rapid Shot - TWF doesn't matter fo this build), but rgr 2 lets you pick up T2 abilities while ftr 1 lets you pick up Haste Boost & Extra Action Boost.

What race is your current FvS?

DPS comes from a mix of archery (Manyshot+IPS+Wrathful Weapons) and light spells (the "holy trinity" of Nimbus/Searing/DivPun+Divine Vessel), which also charge up Scourge & Just Reward. [Probably Blade Barrier too; your DCs will suck, but I think it can still proc Just Reward if it crits.] DWS provides +1D6 SA and +30 Pos Spellpower (sorry, overstated it earlier); AA provides Conjure + 1 imbue; Kensei provides extra feat & Haste Boost (if I had more APs to spare I'd invest in Extra Action Boost too). Normally I'd skip Enlarge, but since the idea is to hang back, you may find the extra range on your Heals & light spells valuable.

Drawbacks: Warpriest is melee-centric; in particular, Smite Foe is melee-only and Inflame & Divine Vessel are centered on you, so you have to be close to the action to make them useful (somewhat negating the point of being a longbow-wielding caster). Manyshot lasts 20 secs; how often does a "real" healer get to take that long of a break from healing? :cool:

I should stress I'm just making this up as I go along; I haven't tried to come up with an archer / healer build in quite some time. :o

Thanks for the suggestions. This is an experiment for me as well as this is a character that has been mostly a dualboxed healbot when the guild has needed it. So anything to make her more interesting to play is a bonus.

I will study this build a bit and maybe give it a try on the weekend.

This is my build, at lvl 21 I took Precise Shot and at lvl 24 I took IPS All my ability ups went to Wisdom tho, if your a healing build you could do Carisma instead and lower your starting Wisdom. Silver Flame capstone is not bad, free searing light spam, I chain that with Avenging Light. I have 46 wisdom at lvl 28 I could get it into the low 50's with focus, there is even room in this build for heighten at lvl 27 or Combat Archery if u have a +5 dex tome and lower the starting cha to 8 instead of 9 and bring up the dex to 16. I have lot of past life feats that help with damage and spell casting but they are not all that useful in EE quests. I mostly run shiradi although sometime I do EA. If im wearing my healing gear then i can heal a raid without much problem but casting and ranging tend to take a hit. I rarely if ever offer my services as a raid healer or even party healer, there is something that happens with trying to heal and reload a bow at the same time.

Elf is great for the grace with offers dex bonus to damage, its not nearly as much damage as if u had bow str but sometimes you don't wanna have ranger levels. it also opens Arcane Archer which is nice because u never need to buy or carry arrows. which such a low str carrying arrows can be troublesome. I put my skill points into spellcraft but you can do heal skill if you wanna more focus on healing. jump is very important if u plan on doing any kind of kiting. With my wisdom score I do get to kit mobs through my BB but in EE they save anyways.
