View Full Version : Email invite and WORLD CLOSED status

I have received an invite to closed beta and have lamannia loaded.

When I open the launcher its loads and when I log in it says in red WORLD CLOSED in the world status section. Am I doing something wrong?

I have one VIP, one Premium. The Premium one was originally made because of something to do with the MotU beta.

In the interest of being thorough, I tried logging in with the VIP subscription. World closed.

Closed launcher, tried logging in with the other subscription. World closed.

Closed launcher again, tried VIP subscription again. World closed.

Not to change topics, but is there some way to remove the extra subscription? I don't use it and I'm pretty sure it only exists because I messed something up while trying to get into Lamannia for the MotU beta.

I have two accounts. One was from the MOTU Beta. Someone gave me a beta key and it 'gave' that account. The only thing I have ever used it for was that beta. The other is my regular user account (the one that is VIP with the expansion on it).

The regular account gives me the world closed error. I have not tried the other one because it has nothing worth talking about associated with it.

* I tried the other just to make sure and it doesn't work either.

I've tried with the VIP and the non, and I've got into the Install folder and tried the TurbineLauncher, dndlauncher and the TurbineInvoker... None of that has worked.

If they reached a limit, it was hit very early in the day, since as soon as the server was up ( and before :P) I and my bf tried to log in.

MAYBE a bunch of others did at the same time and it locked out that fast but I dunno, I've seen people here and there say they finally got in somehow so I doubt it

Actually there are multiple threads, all with different titles which only hides the fact that its the same problem until you read them. Not to mention many people probably don't bother or know to come here looking for a solution.

For those asking if it's working at all. Still working for my Preorder account (NotVIP, one account, PreOrdered).

There's only one instance of the test dojo... so not a very crowded server. Maybe 100 on in the Who list.

I am happy that all the Warchanter changes they made appear to be working vs. mobs on my Warchanter. Also Overwhelming Crit is stacking with Howl of the North for Extra extra crit multiplier on 19,20. And the Iced Edges is perpetually going now on his ESoS.

I have given up trying. Posted about this 80004005 error at lunchtime in an old thread since for some reason a multi-year VIP who preorders every collectors edition isn't trustworthy enough to create a post. I assume like everyone else in that thread that they too have not been heard, and are just spinning in the wind. Finally someone links this thread started later by someone who can make threads. Say, if this is beta, and you want feedback from players, shouldn't those players be able to provide the feedback?

Still not working same error message, and I had to log out and back in to post this message. Was getting the error message "waiting for ddo.com"?

Everything else on my computer including my internet connection was working fine.

Just tried the dndlauncher.exe , Turbineinvoker.exe, Turbinelauncher.exe and got nothing. I have done a clean uninstall and reinstall. I have restarted my PC. I have flushed my dns. I even tried sacrificing a goat and a chicken. Still not connecting to the queue.

I think your hamsters are unreliable as I still cannot log into Lammania. May I suggest kobolds instead? They are hard workers as long as a foreman keeps them in line.

Yes. I logged in during the enhancement preview just prior to the Beta blocking my access.

I have since reinstalled the client.

Yes, Been logged into Lam, working around with wizard enhancements and getting way lagged trying to pick up items in the dojo.

Have the client on two comps, one I competely unistalled, last night, re-downloaded and installed, updated this morning. The other was the same previous installation, all updates for it today as well. Both get the same error.

Tried switching turbineinvoker.exe, the fix on the known issues, and rebooting.

I have not, my last lamma log in was before the closed beta however. Have tried another restart and did a hardware refresh on my modem. My animal sacrifices have not appeased the connection god, what next?

...just as a random experiment I logged on and created a lvl 7 character and leveled it all the way up on the ship. Ran around a little and then logged. Had not transferred over any copies of a "real" character in more than half a year.

I did not pre-order, or late order, the Shadow expansion.

I'm a VIP also currently encountering the "Failed to queue for server (0x80004005) error.

Tried again, still closed.

Rebooted, still closed.

Haven't had any Lam issues in 6 months. New client did resolve the first login timeout issue I was having on live though.

Copied 5 characters over with Character Copy if there is any relation (I am thinking there isn't any).


I'll be here all night jumping back and forth between live. :D

I have not logged into lam before. Just received the closed beta invite yesterday. But the reason I left ages ago was due to similar network problems. For some reason Turbine games, both DDO and LOTRO communicate to their clients differently than other games and have a history of people being unable to play because of it. I have never had connection issues with any other MMO and I've played just about all the best ones to come out.

I was on Lamania about 3 weeks ago. Got the email today about the closed beta, did the update and it just says closed. I suspect the "closed" issue may have something to do with not updating who has access to the closed beta even though you got an email.

in order to do that, i need some of you brave souls to follow the following directions:

For Windows 7

go to this folder on your computer (it may be hidden, so you'll need to set view hidden files)

C:\Users\ %whatever your username is% \AppData\Local\Turbine\Dungeons and Dragons Online\Launcher

Grab a copy of the dndlauncher.log file

From there send an email with that file to **removed for now** using the subject name "Lamannia Launcher Logs"



With any luck, using some of these logs we can pinpoint the issue and get it resolved.

i have been trying since about 1 pm eastern time, it is now 7:45 eastern standard time, i have uninstalled and reinstalled, i have rebooted and cold booted and still same server error message.
As off 4 pm est i was able to still log into DDO regular server and played there just fine.
I am a VIP memember who has not pre-ordered the game but was ecstatic to be invited into my first beta test... However THIS ERROR MESSAGE AND DELAY IS GETTING EXTREMELY ANNOYING.
I guess for now ill jsut go back to my regular ddo game and check again in a few hours.

I'm still getting the same failure to queue error message as before. I'm a VIP and i downloaded the beta last night when I got my email. I have never played on any server but argonnessen, and I have no issue with playing on there at all, I was on just an hour ago in fact.

sent...but I'll bet you anything its the way you guys send/receive packets that's causing the problem. For some reason Turbine doesn't send and receive along the same port which screws up a lot of ISP's and client setups.

Okay.. more information gathering:

Have any of you who are having trouble logged into Lamannia specifically within the last 6 months?

I was on... shortly before you went to closed beta, not sure exactly when. But certainly for at least the 'full' enhancements preview, and I believe after as well.

I have a VIP account (since July of 2010), last logged into Cannith a couple weeks ago and last logged into Lamannia shortly after Update 18 was released (I don't remember when exactly and I didn't stay on very long). I am getting the same login queue error as everyone else. I've also have had many issues off and on with the launcher hanging up in the update process in the past and even restoring the backup and trying again it keeps failing. I'm running Windows Vista on a HP Dv6000 laptop with IE7 installed. Umm. What other information might be relevant? I'm on a weak wifi connection from the cafe up the street. I've got a dual core processor and standard video card. 2GB of ram. 120GB Hard drive.... I've also got FF22, Opera, Chrome, and Safari installed (all latest versions for testing JavaScripts and web design), latest versions of both flash and jde... umm.. DX9... (obvious I hope)... Let me know if there is any other info I can offer. :)

since others have already sent in thier logs, ... I will wait on the answer,

and for the guy that mentioned port issues
I dont use a software firewall (I use a hardware appliance)
so I am able to easily monitor in/out bound traffic
the ports fall into normal use ranges (1024-65535)
so that shouldnt apply.. unless you have a firewall somewhere
with a white list (allows only these, type thing and blocks the rest)

system:
windows 7 ultimate 64bit
Intel i7 quad core
16gb of memory
2x Gforce 560GT
2x SSD in raid 0

Hrmm.. have any of you tried rebooting your computer and trying to log in again?

i've completely redone everything regarding ddo on my computer...
