I've been in a discussion about which is the best savvy for end game in-game, and I'd like to see your opinions.

I tried ice and earth savvys end game, but it seems ice savvy is the best, though fire seems better with the ED's and new content.

anyone wants to share his thoughts on this?

Air gives you knockdown immunity, but there are a lot of lightning immune enemies including the 2 important antagonists in the current end game raid. Water brings Polar Ry and Ice Storm, but is out because one of said enemies is also cold immune. Earth is alround nice, but lacks high level spells - I've never gotten the BDB to be more than a "meh". Fire gives nice aoe with Incindiary Cloud (the blind effect is a nice perk), excellent SLA:s, and nice high level damage with DBF and meteor swarm. There are no important enemies that are immune to fire at the moment. Hence it has my vote.

When you are talking about end game for Sorcs, you are playing quite suboptimal if you are not running Shiradi spam. And in that case, your savant choice does not make a huge amount of difference. The best would probably be Air Savant for all of the nice non-spell advantages it offers, with two levels of Paladin.

If you are dedicated to sticking to the 'flavor' of a Savant Sorcerer, then arguments can be made for pretty much any of them.

Well to be honest, as a ice sorc I dont feel the cold immune on the bosses. not too much of a problem. though polar ray does hit for 1k non crit and 2.7k crit, which is amazing. fire has really low saves on spells so it makes it a bit worse, lightning also has low saves but chain lightning is pretty potent. acid is incredible damage BUT it is over time, which I didnt like.

At the moment, probably fire. However, with some things to be said:

- Fire is the best because nothing is immune in the current endgame thou his T3 ability is a big MEH. DBF = the mother of all AoE spells.
- I'd put Air second (some people will disagree, I'm Air and this is the one I like the most) because of its ability to clear trash faster than anyone else. Also, Knockdown immunity + Wings = Survavibility. However, Stormreaver and TO are immune to Elec and that kinda hurts.
- Ice third only because his T3 ability is inferior to Air's ones. Also, it's good for single target mobs but inferior to Air in group mobs. Must be said that less things are immune to Ice. It's a third place but really close to Air.
- Earth: I just don't like its slow dps.

Yes, it struck me that I was being a bit of a traditionalist. The correct answer is probably "if we had a force savant, it would be the best". Here's to hoping the Truthful One gets a spell shield!

I sense a disturbance in the Force, as if a million Shiradi cried out in fear, and were silenced..

I agree with this except Ice is better for a first lifer Air pulls ahead with more sorc lifes.

The fireball SLA on a fire savant was very bugged last time I checked which ruined that savant for me.

IMO a Shiradi WF Air Savant (could splash 2 paladin levels) with some fire enhancements and spells is the flavor of the month.

All of them can be really powerful.

For example, fire savant spamming meteor in Shiradi with fire/force lines and draconic spell augmentation twisted.

Or air savant spamming missiles in Shiradi with air DoT and air/force lines.

Or a wisdom based water savant spamming missiles and tsunami twisted in Shiradi with water/force lines. Or in draconic with boulder toss and wild shots also twisted, since nothing is immune to the force part of tsunami/boulder toss/wild shots. Water has excellent no-save dps, so a wisdom base is fine. Tsunami doesn't work on nature elementals, bosses immune to knockdown, and huge creatures.

Or earth in draconic since nothing is really acid immune and earth doesn't need Shiradi for CC and secondary damage types. Earth just needs more burst.

I like my fire/force savant.

What's the advantage of wisdom based as water savant? Wisdom only for the saves of the shiradi spells? Isn't wisdom based a very big cut in SP for a sorc?

The Tsunami knockdown save is based on wisdom.

I plan on trying sorceror next life on my fvs [on her second life first life was a wizard]. Whats a good savant to start off as? I wanted to try air savant hoping the wizard active past life feat would make up for the dc that air savants seem so dc heavy about, but water savant has caught my attention as well. The unfortunate thing with that is I tend to fight a lot of undead [ I love all those necro/house j/deleras quests] so I don't know what would be a good secondary line to go with. Force? If I decide on air savant and my hopes of wizard past life works in my favor I was planing on air/force.[ for the force line to work with cyclonic blast]....but I've seen the power of a water savant vs non skeletons and its amazing.
