Introduction:
The main focus of this build is to use what sorcerers can do best: DPS. There is a secondary focus on Enchantment through the use of specific gear and the spell selection to ensure the CC role in throughout most of the game and the hardest quests and raids. This build, but the class in general played a nuker, is very Clicky intensive, requiring many different pieces of Gear to allow fast swap in to be the most efficient possible with the consume of Spell Points. I will not focus on Necromancy school because I do not like that kind of playstyle. On top of that, I would need too many Feats and I would have to sacrifice Feats that I'm not willing to sacrifice.

Past lives:
This build makes use of 3x Sorcerers Past Lives and 3x Wizard Past lives. It can be done without them but I highly suggest you to get them. 3 DC for your Evocation spells is awesome for those nasty EE mobs and 60 Spell Points are always handy. The Wizard past lives are not necessary but that +6 Spell Pen is nice to have for the mobs with some Spell Resistance, specially in the latest updates.

Epic Destiny: Draconic Incarnation
This is where things start to get a little bit tricky. There are many things useful in this destiny but I have to give up to some of them. The numbers before the ability means their Tier.

1) Energy Sheathe: Electric - Rank 3
1) Charisma 1
2) Go out with a Bang - Rank 3
2) Precise Evocation - Rank 2
2) Charisma 1
3) Blue Dragon Heritage - Rank 3
3) Piercing Spellcraft - Rank 2
4) Energy Burst - Rank 3
4) Blue Dragon Spell Knowledge - Rank 3
5) Blue Dragon Breath

Twists of Fate:
Epic Completionist:

http://i68.tinypic.com/25sq6wl.jpg
http://i66.tinypic.com/260wdoy.jpg

Piercing Spellcraft (Exalted Angel): +3 to Spell Penetration
Echoes of the Ancestor (Fatesinger): +1 Charisma, +9 Spell power
Evocation Specialist (Magister): +3 Evocation DC
Rejuvenation Cocoon (Primal Avatar):Protect target ally with a shield of [90/120/150] temporary HP for 9 seconds. Heals 5d6 HP every 2 seconds while the shield persists. Very awesome for self-healing.
Interrogation (Divine Crusader): +5 Universal Spell Power and +1% Spell Critical Chance.

Evocation DC:
10 base + 9 Heighten + 34 Modifier + 1 Spell focus feat + 6 Equipment bonus item + 3 Past lives + 2 Draconic Incarnation Destiny + 3 Magister ED + 2 Topaz of Greater Evocation Augment + 1 Ship buff + 1 Wizard Past life + 1 Quality DC (on Gauntlets of the Arcane Soldier) + 3 Insightful Evocation = 76 Evocation DC.

With sustainable buffs:

76 + 1 Yugo Pot + 1 Lasting Elixirs of Supreme Ability = 78 DC running most of the times. You can have many other buffs but those are not sustainable like these two. 78 DC is enough for every mob in the game, specially if you abuse Solid Fog like I do.

Enchantment DC:
10 base + 9 Heighten + 34 Modifier + 6 Enchantment bonus item + 2 Topaz of Greater Enchantment Augment + 1 Quality DC (on Gauntlets of the Arcane Soldier) + 1 Ship buff + 1 Wizard Past life + 3 Insightful Enchantment = 67 Enchantment DC.

With sustainable buffs:

67 + 1 Yugo Pot + 1 Lasting Elixirs of Supreme Ability = 69 DC running most of the times. Probably not good enough for LE Raids at the moment but I'm not running much of those. This DC holds almost anything in every quest, which is good enough for me.

Equipment:
Another tricky point

- Head: Legendary Pasophic Circlet
- Necklace: Wizardry +381/+27% Electric Spell lore/+6 Enchantment Focus Slave Lord's Necklace
- Trinket: Epic Litany of the Dead
- Cloak: Legendary Earthen Mantle
- Belt: +15 Constitution/+7 Insightful Constitution Cannith Crafted Belt
- Ring1: Legendary Spinneret
- Boots: Legendary Boots of the Devil Commander
- Gloves: Gloves of the Arcane Soldier
- Bracers: GS Bracers with 20/10/5 Electric Spell Critical Damage
- Armor: Robe of the Celestial Sage
- Goggles: Enchantment focus of Insightful Spell Penetration Cannith Crafted
- Ring2: +17 Charisma/+185 Electric Spellpower/+4 Quality Charisma Slave Lord's Crafted Ring
- Main Hand: Golden Orb of Death
- Off-hand: GS Scepter with 150 Equipment Electric SP/+7 Insightful CHA/+37 Exception electric SP

Different set weapons:

- Main Hand: GS Scepter with 150 Equipment Electric SP/+7 Insightful CHA/+37 Exception electric SP
- Off Hand: 10/20/30% Heal amp Scepter

Spell Power and Spell Pool:
Everything is counted with Superior Potions bought in House Jorasco, giving 25 Alchemical Spell Power (5 more than Shavarath belts) and Potions of Spellpower (+25 stacking Spell Power) from CoVs:

Electric: 888, Electrocution (+25 SP), Meridian Fragment (+24 SP) for a max total of 937
Cold: 592, Hoarfrost (+25 SP), Meridian Fragment (+24 SP) for a max total of 641
Force: 597

I took a picture of what my usually spellpower is most throughout the quests and especially in boss fights:

Notice: this spellpower is counted without 3 piece Slave Lord's Sorcery set and no +185 Equipment bonus from Slave Lord's, which means the total is +40 once gear is finalized.

http://i65.tinypic.com/2qk341y.jpg

Total Electric: 1.007 + 300 Feats = 1.307 Electric Spellpower
Total Force: 671 + 300 Feats = 971 Force Spellpower

Of this, the non-sustainable ones are: +50 Draconic Fury (5 minute cooldown clicky), and +20 Action boost (only because I have 5 Action boosts per shrine, sustainable in every quest). Which in the end makes up for:

937 sustainable Electric Spellpower
702 sustainable Force Spellpower

I have 6330 SP with just Ship buffs, more than enough for every quest in game at the moment and happy with it.

Reaper Setup:

- Rys' YT Channel (https://www.youtube.com/user/RysDDO): check out Rys' channel. Not only there are our Raid duos togheter, which are very fun and entertaining, where you can see this build (and many variants of it) in action, she is an amazing person and player (when she is not graze hitting the mobs) and has tons of cool videos.

Conclusion:
I'm really enjoying the DPS and survavibility of this build. Whenever I'm in trouble, Wind Dance, Cocoon and a Heal scroll healing me for 400+ are great and the knockdown immunity is just something that I can't give up. I really hated when, with no savants avaible, every Cometfall or Trip made me fall on the ground forever, basically meaning death.

First I just want to say, there is no plain reply only reply with quote, so I am not sure how clean this will be. I don't meant to quote your entire piece.

Overall it is an adequate build. For 3 past lives as sorc, I still think that you can do better but still enjoyable.

1. Get rid of extend, no reason for a sorc to have extend. Replace it with epic toughness, the 50 xtr hp will benefit you a lot more than a few more seconds of haste.

2. I would probably replace your active sorc past life with force of personality. Having higher will saves would go a lot further.

3. Some of your spell choices seem to be a waste. You don't have any fire spells yet you spent 1 point on flame power.

You dont' seem to have a striding item nor did you take expeditious retreat. Why bother with hypnotism?

Halt undead, cloud kill,

Your enchant DC will be so low why even bother with those either, Unless you are only running epic hard. Just a waste of spell slots.

As for destinies, what a waste not having tier 3 of EB, Yes it is a lot of points 9, but the 9-14k crits are pretty nice. Dragon breath is nice but the ice one is slightly better for aiming than the electric one.

You have +4 tomes, 2 GS items every single GH gear that you can, multiple past lives. You should be a monster, but frankly I still don't think that this toon can solo all epic elites. It still reeks as a mediocre build.

I think that your DC's are nice. I can only hit 50 at lvl 25, but I am a WF. Which I still think is the master of arcane races. The self heal ability is so much nicer than relying on scroll healing.

Bottom left of the thread.

1. Get rid of extend, no reason for a sorc to have extend. Replace it with epic toughness, the 50 xtr hp will benefit you a lot more than a few more seconds of haste.

Extend is not an epic feat. And 50 HP aren't that useful when grouped I can buff up to ~700. That's all I ever need

2. I would probably replace your active sorc past life with force of personality. Having higher will saves would go a lot further.

What for? FoM and Protection from Evil are all I ever need. My Will saves is +28 unbuffed. Bringing them to 48 just for one spell seems like a waste (and will probably fail it most of the times knowing eeGH mobs' DC). And if they don't cast it in the middle of my head, I can get rid of it with just one spell.

3. Some of your spell choices seem to be a waste. You don't have any fire spells yet you spent 1 point on flame power.

It's been replaced with Force long time ago ;) I forgot to do some changes when I copied over.

You dont' seem to have a striding item nor did you take expeditious retreat. Why bother with hypnotism?

Halt undead, cloud kill,

Your enchant DC will be so low why even bother with those either, Unless you are only running epic hard. Just a waste of spell slots.

Hypnotism and Halt undead are also gone from time ago. Have Lightning bolt and can't remember at level 1 at the moment. Something useless probably. Cloud kill, DC? What? 20% Concealment is still great.

As for destinies, what a waste not having tier 3 of EB, Yes it is a lot of points 9, but the 9-14k crits are pretty nice. Dragon breath is nice but the ice one is slightly better for aiming than the electric one.

Let's cut the head to the bull: You can't crit for 14k. Your T3 crits will mostly go from 8k to 10k. 14k only if they are helpless + debuffed. I still crit for 8k with T1, can't see the problem. Dreagon Breath works fine if you know how to aim it. With lower DC, it won't matter: they are going to save from it anyway.

You have +4 tomes, 2 GS items every single GH gear that you can, multiple past lives. You should be a monster, but frankly I still don't think that this toon can solo all epic elites. It still reeks as a mediocre build.

The only epic elite solo I'm missing is Crucible. Believe it or not. I posted the Madstone one if you saw it, it was the only one worth it.

I think that your DC's are nice. I can only hit 50 at lvl 25, but I am a WF. Which I still think is the master of arcane races. The self heal ability is so much nicer than relying on scroll healing.

Hint hint: Cocoon.

How often do you fail a spell pen check with PW: Kill, Enervation etc on EE? Myself I was thinking of trying level 1 spell Sonic Blast as a backup cc as its evo and attacks will, but has spell pen check. Its a short 2-6 sec daze, the description says it single target but wiki says it has a spherical area of effect. Im not sure that it would be reliable on EE due to also having no spell pen feats except one wiz past life and the caster levels from Draconic ED.

These spells are mostly used on mobs with no Spell Resistance. If you are looking at a daze-like stun, Electric loop does the job very well. Greater shout also but need a bit more practice with targeting.

Mobs with SR check can be dealt with a couple of tries of Ottos, I wouldn't suggest picking up Sonic blast if you can't bypass SP. However, should be said that very few mobs have SR at all in eGH.

Electric Loop and Greater Shout were what I was using as I based my sorc on yours and scoobs air savant builds. Greater Shout can be tricky at times to aim, but still liked the spell. Currently working on my 3rd sorc life so cant try sonic blast out. Main reason for considering it is beacause its will save while loop requires to beat reflex save before the daze on will and greater shout is fort. Also I always had hypno as my 4th lvl 1 spell, but with poor enchant dc I would prob be better off with sonic blast.

I'm not sure how anyone could base a sorc build on both mine and this one, as they are so different that they are almost polar opposites.

I think I'm going to use this as the basis of next life for my sorc...getting tired of the Shiradi Sorc.

Thinking of EE Silver Ingot Arcanum instead of Twilight, though...>20 CitW without getting it (or even seeing it on my sorc, even in 20th list) has made me decide it's not worth it to get Twilight. Not sure where I'll pick up Major Evocation Focus, though.

4*20 = 100 HP

4 times 20 is 80....other than that I like the build :) if they ever fix spell crits I might try this out.

EDIT: until that point I'm sticking with shiradi, cause a DI sorc just feels pathetic with the crit bugs :( Also if I go to this I might have to do a Wizard life first lol :)

However I have following questions:

1. Why nightshield and protection from evil? Does the resistance bonus from the spell stack with item? and don't you get protection from evil buff from airship? or is it still bugged?

2. Would you mind explain how you get 19 UMD modifiers?

3. Where did you get your +1 exceptional cha?

Thanks in advance.

Nightshield protects from Magic Missile - so does Shield, but shield sounds stupid.
Protection from evil... Well. I had it on my sorc, death happens.

19 UMD mod? It was from charisma.
Breakdown of charisma is here: CHA: 50 (18 Base + 6 level ups + 4 Tome + 4 Enhancements + 8 Item + 1 Exceptional + 3 Insight + 5 Destiny +1 Great Charisma) = 50 CHA (+20)

So, it was actually +20 mod, not +19. (Rest of UMD mod is explained)

1. As mentioned above Nightshield for the pesky MM and PFE is to prevent you from being greater commanded by priestesses or anything that commands. (handy to stay alive)

You didn't read my post carefully dude, I know what the spells do but I was wondering why a sorc would have it taking up one spell slot when one can easily get it from one's guild airship buff, if it's not still bugged, as I mentioned.

I'm sorry I didn't dissect your post word for word. Excuse me. The airship buff is still bugged and was mentioned quite a while back by the devs probably never going to be fixed (bottom of the pile). Of course that is always subject to change.

PfE because the ship buff is bugged and because Command = death. Nightshield simply because of MM resistance. You can go with Shield but there wasn't much difference for me.

As soon as U19 drops, I will make some major changes, including:

I will have 3 Feats slot free because I will swap out: Extend (sigh), Toughness and the new feat slot at 27. I will go with:

- Quicken (half of a waste but no better options, might keep extend.). It will be used for SLAs (I will have 5 of them + EBurst + DBreath and some spells like Solid Fog)
- Mental Toughness: 1% Crit chance and some SP
- Improved Mental Toughness: 1% Crit chance and more SP

The epic feat at lv 26 will be +20 Electric Spellpower.
The epic feat at lv 28 will be Hellball.

Cha +11 item and Evocation +5 will bring my Evo DC to 58. Or something along those lines. Fully buffed with Solid fog and Waves it will be 65~68.

I will lose 1 cha in the Enhancement but will get 1 from the +5 tome that sometime soon will come.

I will go Air/Fire for the debuff/fire dot. Will have Burning Hands and Scorch SLAs.

My spell list will be heavily revised.

Ice storm -> wall of fire
Prismatic Spray or maybe even Polar ray (sigh) -> DBF. Welcome greatest of all AOEs.
Mass hold monster -> Meteor Swarm
The cold dot will stay only because there is no other spell in that slot.

Oh and once I acquire an Ottos Box, I will use the LR+20 to LR to Wizard and then TR again to Sorcerer to get a free Wiz PL (that will be swapped for Sorc PL).

Many thanks sir. I have many decisions to make before I LR...mostly to see which/if any of the bugs you pointed are fixed. Even holding of upgrading my Twilight, just-in-case...Vulnerable + Fire Debuff def looks like strong single target DPS. Might just be worth switching out of my gimped Ice Savant. Altho the -1 to saves is a nice party buff too...

Noone of the bugs I pointed will be fixed. Feather said they were WAI. So, the new debuffs/buffs will be single target only with a 3 sec duration on Air debuff.

I will keep my Twilight 8if I can find evocation +5 on an item otherwise I'll be forced with Nether Orb) but I will change it. It will be Ice primarly so +120 and Electric +138 in the Red slot.

Honestly, if you stay water, you should go Ice/Air. They are both some very good debuffs for the party and for yourself. OR you could think (I did too) to switch to Fire as primary element. Fire/Air looks a lot of fun.

To me, the KD immunity and wings have me hooked to Air but if I wasn't, I'd totally go Fire. DBF and WoF > everything else. If you switch to Fire, the new Fire Dot is AWESOME. 21% crit chance from item + 8% enhancement + 2% from Improved Mental Toughness if you follow my fearts + 5% Magical Training = 36% crit chance on the DoT with over 300 Spell power. Looks a beast to me.

Power, +10 temp SP when electric damage,
+2 Reflex Saves, -2 Fortitude Saves, -2 CL
for Earth Spells for 2 sec per Concentration

I think it is just 1d6 from a weapon.

As far as I know you only need 1 feat then you upgrade it through the half elf tree.

Purk is a helf at level 10 now was originally made that way for the Paladin dilettante bonus for saves but I will try this out when it comes live though he was supposed to be a water savant but after trying air out on another toon (was just supposed to be a challenge farmer but was really fun to play) the wings and KD immunity is just awesome and a lot of endgame stuff now is immune to cold...

This would require me to go Helf thou. I'd lose too much from Actiong Surge and the extra 1 feat.

However, I was actually thinking to use a feat for Dragonmark of Finding for a free +1 chest level. With Random gen loot being more important than Named loot with U19, it may work very well. I might just put it instead of Improved Mental Toughness.

The only thing I'd hate is not spending as many points I want to spend in the Savant Trees. I wish Lama was still up to try it out.

Wizza
08-16-2013, 04:21 AM
Just tried the build on Lamannia. It will not be possible for me to take any Dragonmark feat or racial enhancement at all.

I will spend 47 points in the Air tree and 31 in the Fire tree leaving me with just 2 free points. It's sad because I actually liked the idea of having Treasure Finding. I couldn't even afford Improved Recovery 1.

My new spell power, unbuffed, without the 136 Spellpower will be:

377 electric
317 Fire
267 Force

(Add +16 with +136 SP)

Chain Lightning hitting for 900~1000 (with Draconic Fury)
DBF hitting for 700~
Conflagration (Fire DOT) hitting for 250~ per tick at 20 stacks, critting for 500~.
Wall of Fire hitting for 150~
Incendiary Cloud for 200~

I was seeing a lot of Crits with just a 16% item + 5% Magical training + 8% enhancement + 2% IMT = 31% crit chance (missing a 5% from a ML28 item).

Looks like Twilight is still Best in slot in this case. I seriously hope we can find an Evocation +5 item besides Nether Orb.

Actually, thinking about it, 2 Red slots would be better. So I could go Nether Orb with +5 Evo in one hand and a Random gen loot with Fire spell lore and red slot (if I can find it). Meh, need to farm Random gen loot and I don't really like the idea.

As for spells, I'll make these swaps:

L1: Expeditious retreat -> Burning Hands
L4: Ice storm -> Wall of Fire
L6: Otilukes -> No idea
L7: Prismatic Spray -> DBF
L8: Greater Shout -> Incendiary Cloud
L9: Mass hold Monster -> Meteor Swarm

The DPS of this build looks a beast IMHO. It's not so dependant on Reflex anymore (but still HEAVYYY DEPENDANT) because of the new few dots (WoF, Incendiary, MS).

I'm sitting at 52 CHA without new items. I've tried Energy Vortex (losing 1 cha). It was hitting for 520~. Not bad at all I must say, I was impressed. Might really think to switch it in again on live. But it's still Caster centered so..I will have to think about it a bit more. One thing: it does NOT give the Vulnerable debuff. Too bad, I'll report it.

Not many useful level 6 spells for a Sorc. Best options are probably the necro spells such as Undeath to Death, Circle of Death and Necro Ray. As you are already using FoD they all maybe worth considering especially if your gonna take wiz pl feat. Necro Ray would probably have more usefulness in EE as it doesnt have spell resistance can be used when Energy Drain is resisted.

or you could just save some plat on GH scrolls. Also Ive never tried Great Dispel so cant comment on that for an alternative.

(sorry won't let me edit my posts T_T)

For a 28 point build, would taking 8 strength instead of 10 strength, and 10 int rather then 8 int at creation be a better choice?

It gives you enough skill points to max UMD, Spell Craft, and Concentration. And strength can always be buffed via tomes and gear to prevent enfeebling.

The problem with 8 STR is that I, at cap, NEED a 20 STR to not be encumbered. I don't think you will have any problem so go ahead with 8 STR. Might be bad for low levels thou.

The DoT comes from the 4th Core enhancement of the Fire Savant. It's 1d6 per stack, up to 20 stack, affected by Spell power and Spell critical chance.

So should I be going up the air savant tree first or the fire savant? Or a little bit of both? since to access the dot you would have to put 30ish points into the fire savant tree. Also your enhancement page didn't detail racial enhancements, do they not matter? If they do when would you take them? Sorry for all the questions, noob here XD

Finally got around to update this for U19.

Updated:

Stats
Spell list
Feats
Enhancements
Gear
Epic Destiny

Basically everything.

Overlook of the changes:

More Cha. It is now at 56 not buffed which is pretty neat.

New evocation DC: 60 buffed. Hellball is awesome, love seeing all those purple numbers. Finally decided my gear layout: its not too hard to find the combination of those Random gen loot (except for the +10 Cha ring which I haven't found yet) but pretty much it's easy. Two new 1-handers with the new update for more Spellpower.

Speaking of SP, my Electric is officially over 400. Just tried Energy Vortex with it (Yes, I took it) and its hitting for well over 600! Looks pretty nice.

Swapped Extend for Quicken (sigh). It's only for SLAs, Burst, Breath, Solid Fog, Otto, Meteor Swarm but I haven't playied with it yet. Dunno yet how I feel about losing Extend for Displacement.

New enhancements. Took something Racial, lost some Fire ones but I will probably swap the Racial ones for the Wand and Scroll Mastery + 3/3 Toughness when Eldritch Knight comes out.

Random gen loot. One was given by a friend, the other is still missing (got +114 Fire Spell power Ruby in a Corrosion of Fire Lore scepter, so I get my Acid spell power for Hellball too).

Yup, 2% crit chance on elec spells.

Have you tested Air savant TOD set bonus? Does the +2 caster level increase stack with everything? Does the .5 crit multiplier still work given that they've taken these multipliers out of spell lore and enhancements completely?

If you test this out is there any chance you could throw some sonic blasts around and A/B test to see if the Air bonus multiplier also works for Sonic (Because: Shiradi Sonic procs and Reign twisted).

Without grinding out my own TOD set I have no way to test, but I've heard nothing but bad things about TOD prestige set bonuses working/stacking with new enhancement system.

Haven't really tried it. Also, the cost is really high to be a single target spell. If it was AoE maybe.

I don't think the TOD set grants the +2 MCL anymore. It's stated in the buffs but not in the set description on the item. Furthemore, I'm casting at CL 35 with or without set.

For a quick math:

20 Sorcerer levels
5 DI Destiny levels
3 Blue Dragon Knowledge
7 Enhancements cores

35 CL

So not working/not implemented at all.

Also, there is no 0.5 crit multiplier, pretty sure of that. The description was outdated and it was never supposed to be on live.

Now, knowing that it doesn't grant +MCL anymore, I might just ditch the belt since it's useless and go with Skullduggery for a free +50 HP/Dodge.

Worth testing the .5 crit multiplier, as it's easy to test and not being typed as spell lore there's a fair chance it might still be working. A case in point Ice game freeze pots are still [fightclub] spell power. despite their description matching the new pots.

Is there a way you're finding out your caster level? Or just adding it up from the buff text in chat?

Nah. They killed every source of Crit multiplier, updated the description and the buff icon. I'm going to try quick tests now in Gianthold but I won't bother more than that.

Combat log says my CL when I cast things and it is the one I wrote above.

EDIT: Just done a small (and I really mean small) test. No crit multiplier with the set on.

Ive notice you now have 1 spare point for your Destiny. Does the max caster levels for Secondary Spell Specialty work? If not, then it just give 10 fire spell power. Fly By Attack is also only 1 point, but I only try it a few times. Other option would be one of the 3 saves boosts from tier 1. Or another point in either Energy Shealth or Go Out With A Bang.

Had a question, besides the obvious lack of Healing Amp, HP, Feat, and skill, why Human over Drow?

Points cost in brackets.

1) Energy Sheath: Electric - Rank 2 (2)
1) Charisma 1 (2)
2) Go out with a Bang - Rank 1 (1)
2) Precise Evocation - Rank 2 (2)
2) Charisma 1 (2)
3) Blue Dragon Heritage - Rank 3 (3)
3) Charisma 1 (2)
4) Energy Burst - Rank 1 (1)
4) Blue Dragon Spell Knowledge - Rank 3 (3)
4) Charisma 1 (2)
5) Blue Dragon Breath (1)
6) Energy Vortex (2)

23 points spent. Think you must have counted Dragon Breath as 2 points.

20 Base + 2 CHA Enh + 1 Ench DC is 3 more.

Also your math on your CHA being 56 is wrong. It should be 53 with the numbers you have. A Drow with the same would have 57.

I made some changes, will probably change something else too:

Got Vitality +40 boots, got rid of Epic Toughness for another Greater Charisma. Got another Charisma by getting rid of Energy Vortex and picking up a 5th Charisma from ED, making me sit at 58 Cha (+24) unbuffed.

Changed some gear. Slotted Globe in Epic bracers of the wind, slotted +2 Evocation augment into Blue helm and finally picked up a Combustion of Fire lore scepter (+132/19%).

I also sorted out my HP but something seems off. I have 754 HP unbuffed in game but my math only adds up to 741. If someone could help me with the 13 HP I'm missing would be nice :)

I'm debating wheter I should be fitting some Enchantment in there. Maybe picking up Spell focus: Ench instead of Toughness, slot Sage's Mantle for +5 Ench, +2 Ench augment into Bracers of the wind for a total of +8. With these changes, I should reach:

10 base + 9 Heighten + 24 Modifier + 1 Spell focus feat + 5 Enchantment bonus item + 2 Topaz of Greater Enchantment Augment = 51 Ench DC.

51 + Ship + Yugo = 53 Enchantment DC which would be a 58 with Crushing Despair.

Need to think about it some more.

.

You have listed..
HP 4*28 = 112 HP

Should be
Heroic 4*20 =80
and you are missing the base starting 25 HP for Heroic Durability

So that changes your base unbuffed to 734..
still looking at your numbers to see if I can tell where the 20HP difference is coming from...

This feat increases the maximum hit points of a character by +5.
Improved Heroic Durability - Automatically granted at class levels 5, 10, 15.

Was trying to see if it applies after 15 but don't see any indications that it goes beyond 15 HP.

With the new update, Spell focus Augments stack with the spell focus equip.

Death block comes from Deathward or Silver Flame Talisman when there are beholders.

Hi Wizza.I look forward to try out ur build on my sorc toon(still on 2nd life).However i plan to make a few changes like being a eletric/cold instead of fire.

Shift what he took in fire savant tree to corresponding stuff in water savant tree. Swap fire spells in his spellbook to ice ones. As you'll find out, it's somewhat more difficult to slot ice spells than fire spells into an air savant's spellbook.

Also beware in current endgame there are things completely immune to both ice and lightning spells. Boss in lines of supply for example.

Also i would like to play as Eldritch knight on my new life can u post a build of the sort for me or how ur sorcerer would look like in one?Do u think the EK enhacements are worth it?How would u play it?

It will become a melee build and is utterly different from savant builds. There are already a few posts in spell caster forums.
Honestly I recommend being a melee class if you want to play melee.

As for the first part, as Takumi answered, just swap Fire with Ice in the enhancements. I'm not sure I would take the Core T4 in Ice savant thou, doesn't seem that good.

Playing in EK will change completely the build and you should follow some other build out there. This build is designed to be a caster and only a caster. EK enhancements are suboptimal for a Sorcerer (and in general too), specially if you go pure.

If i worked on a eldritch knight i would not play a pure sorc.Seem like starting with high str and adding a few a levels of paladin and/or fighter for
divine grace smite evil and extra combat feats would be better.But then my focus really would be melee since i would only be cast up to 3rd circle spells wich would be best suited for buffing instead of damage because of DC.Still i would like to try it out on my next life.I know that u prefer pure caster just looking out for some tips from experienced players.

I did check on a EK build on another post but that was a Drow wizard one im sorc and dindt like it much.

Look forward to play with u guys.

Been playing a 1st life Air Savant that I've enjoyed. Pretty decent damage and survivability. Went ice as second line, but have seen fire come back lately and I like the prospect of trying "new" spells. Welcome back to my line up FW.

In any case I've really liked the no brain recon hits for WF. I haven't worked my way over to cocoon yet. Will take some time and probably won't happen this life.

What would I lose staying WF in the next life? For the extra feat lost I can drop extend from the initial list. Didn't have it this life and didn't miss it.

Sorry I guess I should add apart from the -1 DC due to -2 CHA. I also have access to BF and could use a +1 HoW to lesser out of the pally level if that's a better route and recon can be an inherent skill through enhancements.

You lose the active capstone because YOU ARE NO LONGER CONSIDERED A LIVING CONSTRUCT (so you will basically be a fleshie if you use this form).

Air elemental form gives:

+100% Fortification
+20 Electric and Sonic Spell Power,
+2% Electric and Sonic Spell Critical Chance,
+1 CL/MCL for Air, electrical and sonic spells,
+10 racial bonus electric resistance.
+20 PRR
+3% Dodge
Immunity to Poison, Stun, Sleep, Hold Person

Note that this form is an active toggle that costs 50 SP, so you can even choose to take the Capstone (and its passive benefits) but never toggle the form on. However, it's a pretty huge loss imho.

Never tried with BF but I think it works the same as WF.

Switched to Air/Ice and put in some Enchantment, dropping some Evocation (the Magister twist). Need to get used to the changes thou.

If I get a +11 Cha goggles/ring, I'll craft GS SP into the cloak spot and will also get EBurst 3/3 again. As soon as my exams finish this february, I'll try to go for the Epic completionist. I've already my mind on what to get with the 4th Twist slot. If I don't like the Ice setup (or it is not optimal in the new content, which has some undeads I heard), I'll just go back to Air/Fire but Enchantment will most likely stay.

At the moment, Enchantment is at 49 without item. 54 with the Ench V cloak, 56 with Ship and Yugo. Crushing Despair and Mind Fog swapped it, togheter with Mass Hold. Need to play with it around and see if that is enough for me.

Also, swapped Blue robe for the Green one. Lost 15 Spellpower but gained Power Store and +20 Vitality. Took Efficient Empower 3/3 instead of Pierce Electric Resistance 2/2.

Wand and Scroll Mastery from Eldritch Knight is bugged on a Sorcerer at the moment, that's why. That comment was made when the thread started.

If you get a 10/20/30% Heal amp stick, you should be able to heal for ~220.

Besides Arcane Barrier, which I don't like personally, the only things worth in EK tree are WSM, Improved Shield and Toughness. Seeing as Toughness is pretty much mandatory to get WSM and WSM is awesome for fleshie, there wouldn't be much difference. You will still have some AP left to get most part of a secondary savant, probably without Racial stuff.

I have not spent that many points in racial. I've just Spellpower boost, Cha 1 and Imp Recovery I so I've spent just 5 points there. Why skill boost? To take advantage of Action surge charisma? Or to get the cha/con +1? Seems like a waste to me.

46 points in Primary savant. EK has only Toughness 3/3 at the moment. I'd like to get Improved Shield but the cost is too high with the pre-reqs. 10 PRR are not that important for 6 APs. Also I have no Cha in EK, just 4 from Savants and 1 from Racial.

No idea what I'll do once (if ever) they fix WSM. I'll probably drop Imp Recovery I and Cha 1 from Racial and something else from the 2ndary savant.

Alright, I've made my mind up with the new update, many changes on the way.

First of all, gear:

- Flawless blue dragon scale will go away for the new Shadowscale Robe with +1 Profane DC (Vitality +20, Empty Green Slot for now).
- Epic Bracers of the Wind will be swapped with Dumathoin's Bracers (30 PRR, 45 Elemental Resistance, Yellow Slot: Greater enchantment augment)
- I'll use the Tod set for the 2% extra crit chance.
- The +9 Clever Ring of Spellsight +20 (Colorless slot: +7 STR) will be swapped for a Health +10 of False Life +45 ring.
- Now that I've the Flask of Freedom of Movement, I don't need the Kundarak Boots anymore. However, there are no Boots that I like at the moment so its a free slot for whatever will come into my mind later.
- I also finally got the Litany, so that will be my new trinket.
- Made a better GS Goggles: +6 Intelligence skills, +4 Charisma Skills, Blindness Immunity
- My new Spellpower is sitting at 510 with just Potions and GH and 420 Cold.

Then I'll use two sets for my weapons:

This one is for normal questing, when I cast mainly Electric spells:

- Main hand: Thunder-Forged Scepter (+12, +36 Spell Implement, 150 Magnetism Spellpower, +6 Evocation DC, 22% Electric lore, Orange slot: Meridian Fragment)
- Off-hand: Libram of Silver Magic (+11 Orb bonus, +10 Exceptional Potency, +2% Exceptional Lore, +11 Charisma, +11 Intelligence, Spellcraft +20, Orange Slot: Empty for now)

This one is for boss nuking, when I'm double dotting and using Hellball:

- Main hand: Thunder-Forged Sickle (+12, +36 Spell Implement, 150 Glaciation Spellpower, +2 Dwarven Focus, 17% Universal Spell lore, Orange slot: + 138 Combustion)
- Off hand: Thunder-Forged Orb (+12, +36 Spell Implement, 150 Magnetism Spellpower, +6 Evocation DC, 22% Electric lore, Orange slot: Meridian Fragment)

I'll also make (some day maybe) a Thunder-Forged Quarterstaff with a +7 Enchantment DC.

Also changes in the Enhancements, I'll post screenshots later.

Changes in the Destiny as well: took EBurst 3/3, lost 2 Charisma and Draconic Spell Augmentation.

With new libram you would have even charisma without the fatesinger twist, maybe add in fey form? Gives 15 spp or maybe something from new crusader as its almost here.

I'm probably going with Cocoon, Evocation Specialist, Fey Form and Empyrean Magic or whatever it's called from Divine Crusader. I'll be Air/Fire again.

Yes, im thinking myself to go fire/air.
Doing pure humie sorc for arcane plifes, still bit confused what kind gear to use for etring tho.

Got completionist, well triple at disposal so should work out fine i hope.
Also got litany and all those tweak thingies

I'm usually lv23-26 after eTRing and using: Bracers of the Wind, Twilight, Blue robe/helm, Air savant TOD set, Litany, +9 Cha ML 26 cloak, Con +7 ring of HP +30 ML22 ring, GS gloves and Goggles.

Works great for me. Spellpower is a bit low using just Twilight (I have 385 now in LD at lv26) but I don't really care while leveling.

Ruin is the best available feat for Bluebeard currently. You may consider some amplification in impulse although as it is untyped. As a matter of fact EE Shadow Raid it almost a requirement to complete.

No it is not, as I've already completed some EE runs and I haven't it. Why would it be a requirement to complete? I've thought about it but 75 base SP for a single target spell is too much imho, even if the damage is nice.

Not even close to being the best feat for any build and if a group requires people to have Ruin in order to complete an ee shadow raid something is wrong. As stated by Wizza, it is the most sp inefficient spell ever and it's close to useful in only two or three situations max.

I'm guessing for the phylacteries, it's much easier to coordinate if everyone can kill them with one spell.
It's far from needed however, and while my cleric likes ruin for those "omg I need to kill this guy asap" moments, it's not something I'd take on a sorc that already has plenty of spells that do huge damage.

I don't really see the point even for phylacteries. Energy burst costs less and does actually more damage (not counting Vulnerable/Electric Weaknes). Maybe for a class without burst like your cleric (MAYBE) but I don't see how it is mandatory on a Sorcerer.

The truth is I wouldn't take Ruin on any class.

Ruin is situationally useful since you can damage stuff that has some invulnerability up.
Namely the shadow dragon when 5 dragonlords are up and in twin peaks when the dragons have invulnerability up (useful to grab aggro to seperate them).

Other than that I agree. I wouldn't take ruin on a build like this.

After etring couple times as sorc, need to keep a note that i would swap feats a bit, first of all, get completionist in that list.
2nd id prolly swap evoc feats for more enchant feats, would probably grab a bard plife as well.
I hate lacking 3-4 dcs in horns on ee.
So proly drop 2 evoc feats, have only 1 or none at all for guaranted holds while leveling to 28, those 3 dc in evoc dont make a difference compared to will save as they have massive reflex yet lower will.
Speaking purely from etr perspective tho.
Would prolly drop tod set as well, tried it and thinking the 2% crit isnt worth it compared to 2 slots it takes.

/im still sorc in learning but runing purely ee and speaking what i like and dislike on humie sorc

Gear wise, eidolon neck for ghostly, lantern ring with shorching ray and 2nd ring prolly a something of wizardry 10 or dodge as im using fot bracers for lore /20 heal skill/120 devotion /cocon crits for 250-300 = rly nice.
Setup im using now:
fot boots /slots/, char 3 helm, blue robe /shadow one is to high min lv and i tr as soon as i hit 28 anyways, gloves fot -yel slot and lore, bracers wind - yel slot and lore, trinket litany, cloack horns enchant dc one, rings- guardian and lantern once i pull /usualy a dodge 10, neck evoc 4 and 5 from wheloon /will be eidolon, googles hp gsteel, belt sp gsteel, weapons new crafted ones +random orbs and libram.

Tho you prolly play a sorc longer then me, but would say evoc feats arent of importance, you cant get it high enough to land on assasins no matter what you try.
Speaking from druid perspective as i played a caster druid in endgame.
I know i had to use solid foq clickies and magister 10 reflex debuff + all druid stuff to land quake no fail, dc was around 90 or so.
Cant get that high evoc no matter what i try as sorc , so id rather use a hold and bypass evasion that way.
As a poster sugested to me, to grab mental toughnes line.
That isnt that bad as well, drop whole evoc giberish, concentrate on massive sp and burst holds. For boss fights spam whatever, they melt anyways with dots and schoriching ray. (swaped to fire savant after new destin come out)

There is no way in the world that I'm ever going to get Completionist. The same goes for the Bard PLife.
The same goes for Mental Toughness Line. You want me to get rid of the ToD set for 2% crit chance but you are willing to spend THREE feats for a mere 3% and some SP?

That said, I've thought about swapping 1-2 Evoc focuses feat for Enchantment ones. Might be worth it. However, my holds/Ottos are landing really fine in Stormhorns in endgame. I'm rocking a 60 Ench buffed which is enough even for Assassins with debuffs or for anything else in SH.

I don't really see the point of FoT gloves nor boots. Gloves is my GS HP slot anyway, so that is not going to change while eTRing. FoT boots? Why? Why do you need so many slots? While leveling the only thing I want are better DCs, I don't really care about so many slots.

Why are you wearing the Eidolon's necklace for leveling? Just for Ghostly and +1 Con? Not worth it imho. EE Iron beads for 120 Electric SP and 16% Electric lore (+2 slots). ML 25.

I think Lantern ring only procs on the first ray of Scorching ray? Or on every ray? Is it amped by Light Spellpower?

All this being said, I'm back to Air/Fire with Wand and Scroll Mastery fixed and the new ED out. I will be playing in Divine Crusader for a long time, having a blast with it actually. Will update the OP as soon as I get my Epic Completionist (only 1 life away)

Ghostly is worth it imo, and its 4 con upgraded, so its basicaly 2 more con over a insightful 2 con diamond.
Gloves purely for the lore and slot since i have evoc in it sloted from druid life.
For boots using those because i rly have no idea what else to use and got globe and con 7 sloted.
boots slot is kinda, how to say, there is nothing i want here specificaly as sorc.
Would be happy on some advice.
Mental line was just a suggestion from a poster to me, id myself go with enchant full line + bard plife to get those blackguards in horns held as well.

Bdw hows new destiny working out with sorc?
Need to prep sagas before i can etr into it.
Assuming mass hold + that circle thing and the spell combo

Ghostly is really not useful when you are always displaced. And when you upgrade it, it becomes ML 28, so not really useful for eTRing. However, I'm still looking for a nice necklace for Endgame gear since Sage's necklace is going to be useless with the Thunderforged weapons.

Kundarak boots for perma Freedom of Movement or no idea. Still looking for a pair of boots myself as well.

The blackguards have a will save of over 9000 in my experience. Crushing Despair + Mind fog + 60 Ench DC is not enough so just EBurst them, no need to hold them at all.

New destiny is really nice. Consecrated ground is nice DPS/Healing, the core capstone is 50 extra SP, Empyrean magic is strong. Bombardment is kinda underwhelming, 100 SP for 1k dmg with 300 Spellpower at the moment (eTRing so no Fire gear on)

Yeah but ON TOP of displace it is only a small chance of getting missed if you do the math.

Whether you have displace or not, the effect of Ghostly is to eliminate 10% of the hits you would otherwise take. It's true that that's more hits in net terms if you don't have displace running, but no matter what it's a 10% reduction in the incoming physical damage you would receive without some source of incorporeality -- to me, that's definitely valuable.

Why would you say no to more defense?
As fleshie sorcs we need all we can get.
Iron beads is horrible imo, 120 spp and 16 % lore with a slot.
A new crafred weapon has 150 spp at lv 24 with a slot for a secondary element.
Bracers of wind have 16% lore. Why say no to ghostly 4 con 4 dex deathblock a slot and a neat summon for a item that gives you no benefit? Try to slot it in, moar hp = less chance to die

I don't say no to more defense. I say no to wasting a whole inventory slot for just Ghostly and 28 HP when I have already 900 of them buffed.

Oh actually, now that I remember, Shadowscale robe non-upgraded has ghostly already. There you go.

As for the weapons, you have a point. If you can be bothered to craft ML24 150 Spellpower thunder-forged weapon, then use it with Bracers of the wind for the lore and no Iron Beads. I can't bothered to craft another weapon for eTR when I can just equip Iron Beads and be done with my main element. Those 30 Spellpower difference will not make a difference to me when I can eTR in a couple of days.

Blue robe offers what? 15 Spellpower? That's it. Not a huge deal in any case.

Still, while leveling, it does not really matter. You could go with Eidolons necklace if you really like the +2 con, I'll pick Sage's necklace for my Evocation and 15 Spellcraft.

Lantern ring is a funny thing. The proc gets amplified by radiance and radiance crit. chance, which are both on the ring, so it amplifies itself.
The proc works on every spell, not only damaging spells (even holds, hypno) and it is a guaranteed proc. But it's only one proc per spell cast.
It's worth trying it out and not hard to justify imo, since it comes with 2 slots, which can be useful.

Sadly the answer is no.
But lantern ring is still realy good on any caster.
For example i have 3 sun elf plifes that give me 30 light spp.
Currently im sitting with lantern ring nonupgraded and blue set and 20 alchemical pot at 397 light spp. (will be a bit over 400 at 28 heh)

Saw couple 300 damage crits from it.
Would say a must have.
Oh on sidenote, crusader is extra fun on sorc. I always had some kind issue with selfheal in messy situations,
Changed gear a bit and enchas to grab more heal amp.
Currently consecration is hitting me for 205 hp per tick.
Considering that i can cc everything around me beside couple high will save mobs id say this destiny is full of win for sorcs.

Thanks for the test m8.

I capped the destiny yesterday, and as well I can say is pretty powerful for a sorc.

The only thing I really miss from draconic is CL and breath.

I also established that from now on, sentinel will be my destiny on deathwyrm and double dragon raid, where I do need way more survivability, need to give up solme dps, but it's better less dps then dead meat.

In sentinel I go over 1k hp with my sorc, and I can heal myself with cocoon and renewal. Both cheap and fast. And again it gives me the ability to absorb 30% of elemental damage while block...I know is not that useful because it's just on block...but nice to have sometime, like if you have 2-3 dots running.

If you can hide and block you ignore most of the damage.

Can't see why you have to be in sentinel for those raids, even on EE. In deathwyrm, you are probably on trash/deathlord duty and the only thing that can actually hurt you is disintegrate. However, if you keep moving like you are supposed to do as a caster, you rarely get hit by it and even if you get hit once in a while, cocoon should be enough to bring you to full hp. Last time I did EE Deathwyrm, only died once in the raid and it was because I kited the Kuldjarg close to the dragon when he was breathing. Never had a problem with dots in there.

In the double dragon raid, maybe it is a good idea, maybe not. I'm not a fan of being in a destiny just for the HP. I'd rather just get those 9 Primal past lifes for 99 extra HP and 9 Arcane PL for 9% Absorption.

As for the new destiny, I've been playing with it for almost a week now and here are my results: it is a niche destiny IMHO but after a couple of quests you will really start feeling the loss of those 8 CLs on your burst and 3 MCL on your spells. I also miss Dragon Breath. Bombardment, which has an awesome animation so I just cast it whenever it is off cooldown, is nowhere near as good as Burst. The SP cost is way too high, the casting time is kinda long, the cooldown is too long and the damage is also low. ALso, if a mob moves, you miss it and can't do anything about it.

On the other hand, Consecration makes for some nice damage and some nice healing. Aura of Purification with Castigation is also nice damage. I've seen it do like 1k damage many times and I loved it. However, the 25d6 bane damage that is supposed to do on bosses (and not working at the moment) is just too low for me.

I've also got Epic Completionist and I'm capping my last life for the moment. I'll play a bit at cap, update the OP with Air/Fire spec, new twists, better gear (fire stick mostly and lantern ring somehow) and new enhancements.

Still not sure what to go for with twists.

Cocoon and Enchantment twists are almost a given. Same goes for Empyrean Magic. Thinking about Consecration (I hate the fact that it is casted on yourself and can't be casted on targeted mobs), Fey Form, Echoes of Ancestor, 30 Fire Spellpower, Soundburst.

Now go get regular completionist- benefits are nice to a sorc.
Can also add sense weaknes in that list, 1 shot hold burst ftw.

it's just because I still don't know the raid well, jut did it 2 times and I don't have your skill, still working on it tho :) Another thing is that those mob at final battle on dethwyrm give me slow, and often there is the bloody hell dungeon alert, so for me just cocoon wasn't enough. Maybe with more runs I will do better and just with cocoon.

How are you getting Dungeon alert? Unless someone falls and they have to go through Red/Green light or the Bone Guardian fight room, you should have max green alert in the end fight.

Are you talking about Slow from the Kuldjs? If you are kiting the Kuldjargs on Normal or Hard, kite them close to the edge on the west side. There is a small wall there, you can just jump in and out of the main platform, making it kinda easier. I don't really recommend kiting them in the main platform all the time on EN or EH, that slow is really annoying.

Both run were on EH.

I saw the dungeon alert every time the dragon was calling the shadows, and 2 times a red alert for at least 1 min. Probably we where a bit slow killing thash mobs.

Yes, I was kiting those skelly in the main room and frankly annoyed by the slow thing....

Weird. We only get DA when someone fall down and have to run there again. Make sure that you leave only one mob in the Bone Guardian room so even if someone falls down, he won't make all other mobs spawn.

I've updated the OP anyway.

Equip wise, changed my main weapons. Got rid of Libram, I don't like losing my second element. Put a lantern ring in my 2nd ring slot. My first ring is still Calitomes Sash but no TOD set so it's kinda free. No idea what to put in there honestly.

Added my Epic past lifes, more will come soon. Taking a break from eTRing but I will need more Fate points to get Echoes of the Ancestor from Shiradi.

Posted the new enhancement for Air/Fire and Wand and Scroll Matery finally.

Updated the skills, the spells, the Epic destiny to include Vortex (still not sold on this, I don't like the centered on caster thing, might get rid of it and take 1 Charisma that coupled with Echoes of Ancestor is another +1 DC).

Updated my twists of Fate, got the 4th slot as I said for Empyrean Magic at the moment. Fey form will go away for Echoes probably but no Fate points at the moment.

I noticed you have 3/3 Empower in Fire and 2/3 Maximize in Air. Shouldnt you change these around so that max is in fire and emp is in air?
It only saves 1 extra spell point when spells are fully meta'd. Don't know about yourself, but I sometimes turn off empower for non SLAs for when I need to save some spell points, but rarely turn off maximize.

I have Empower rather than Maximize simply because I have 8 Lesser Maximize clickies. With those, Maximize costs 0 Spell points anyway and I get more benefits out of Empower Efficient this way.

I never turn off Empower nor Maximize.

Done with my Epic past lifes for a while. Done 9x Primal to get 100-ish HP and Epic completionist. Posted my latest EE WGU solo run. Changed my enhancements (pics soon): basically gave up 1 rank of Efficient Maximize and Efficient Empower in the Air tree and Fire tree to get the +1 Spell Pen in each tree for the rare mobs with Spell Resistance.

Also got Eidolons Necklace for 28 HP which is meh but nothing better at the moment. Sitting at 831 HP UNBUFFED which is awesome.

Hey there

I was wondering how this build would do with 1 Sorc PL and 1 Wizzy PL- I still plan on eventually grabbing the ETRs.

I really, really want to run in DI but that's really hard without good Evo DCs.

You will do fine I think. Make sure that you go for Enchantment as secondary and you shouldn't have many problems. Where you most need Evocation (Assassins and Archers), just dance/Mass hold them.

Wouldnt it be better if u played a warforged or BF?

They can self heal and are considered the best race for sorc

For survavibility sure, they are much more better. Even if the Elemental form gives some nice benefits, Reconstrct is just too strong.

However, I have done one life as a WF in the past and simply found too easy the 1-hit healing. Didn't enjoy it, these was no "thrill" in playing it.

How much damage are you usually getting from Lantern Ring proc? As far as I no it is effected by spell power of the spell that is cast.

Also, have you tried twisting Sense Weakness as description says "You deal [10/20/30]% extra damage to helpless targets" and only the second parts states melee damage. Is this working with spells? If your using mass hold and PW:stun then that is a lot of bonus damage.

I did actually try Sense Weakness, and yes it does work with spells. The damage on helpless mobs is crazy. However, most of the times (specially when NOT fighting Giants or Orcs), it is going to be overkill. I still plan to get it thou and get rid of Echoes of the Ancestor as tier 3 but I need 16!!! more epic past lives to be able to afford it. It's not going to happen anytime soon unfortunately as I'm playing DDO kinda less these days. I'm planning to go Sense Weakness, Empyrean Magic, Enchantment Specialist and Cocoon in the end but it's a long road. Definetely keep it mind thou, bigger numbers = more fun!

I don't remember off the head the numbers with Lantern but it is affected by Light Spell power which comes on the ring itself. The numbers go around 100 and sometimes even more as far as I remember. Need to double check that when I log in.

Exactly the split im doing this life with twists, doing pure drow sorc /playing to many humans after tri ico completionist and more enchant dc overall and will be good since i have 6 char tome now.

Got the fate points for it, got the gear ;) got the plifes, should be amazingly huge ammount of fun.

Only thing im arguing with myself is, do i want to drop 1 enchant feat /taking all 3 and droping evoc line totaly- doing that way since i started playing sorc in ee-s/ for dodge since with drow i could get 6% giving me a total of 3plife 3 air form 1 air upgrade 3 feat 3 enchantment from drow and 10 item.
Would be a total of 23 dodge as pure air savant fleshie drow.
Also prr should be high, 30 from plifes 30 dum bracers 20 form.
Suggestion welcome, if droping 1 enchant dc is worth the 6% dodge

Just TR'd into this build after being a Wizard AM running in Shiradi. Can you elaborate a little on the playstyle and the rotations that you use?

Forums is loading so slowly these days that I couldn't reply to you earlier.

What I usually do after the buffs is run. I like zerging and I like gathering tons of mobs. While running and some seconds before stopping (you have to know the quests), I usually activate Lesser Heighten from Deific Diadem and cast Mind fog + Ottos to CC everything. Then Mass Hold + Burst/Breath to kill most of them (maybe casting a Crushing Despair before the Mass Hold if I really want to hold the mobs, such as assassins), SLAs to finish the few remaining or, if there are more then 1-2 mobs, Chain Lightning/Hellball.

The potions from the cards and cocoon assure you any survavibility that you will ever need, specially if like me you have all the Primal Epic Past lifes. My HP can reach 1000 if I use potions, which are more than enough for everything. Even Disintegrates are not scary anymore when you have so many HP.

As for my rotation against bosses, it usually is:

SLA Lightning bolt, Chain Lightning, Lightning Bolt spell, Meteor Swarm, Hellball every 6s, Ruin every 15s.

If boss is electric immune:

Meteor Swarm, Delayed Fireball, Scorching Ray (Emp + Max on or off, depending if I have the mana to sustain it. Most of the times they are on. If I just want the Fire Dot to stack up, I turn them off just for this spell), Ruin every 15s.

So basically, just don't stand there doing nothing. Always have a spell to cast. ALWAYS use Lesser Maximize clickies before a rotation, specially if you are using spells like Ruin which costs a lot. You can use Litany's Clicky combined with Lesser Maximize for the last 6 seconds to cast super cheap spells. Lesser Heighten is also good when nuking with spells like Lightning bolt, Chain Lightning, DBF.

EDIT: Also updated OP with Enchantment DCs, new Evocation DCs, some gear layout changes, new Spell power, Feats

Hello, Wizza.
I just get completionist for my main toon and plan to make a similar human sorc for end game. I will go air savant for the knock down immunity and wind dance.

However I have several different views about feats.

My feats order will be:
1: Max
1: Emp
3: Com
6: Quiken
9: Spell focus: Evo
12: Past life: wizard
15: mental toughness
18: greater mental toughness
21: SPell Focus: Necro (or enhantment)
24: epic mental toughness
26: Spell power: Electric
27: ruin
28: Forced escape (wondering if Hellball worth taking

I am still debating myself to go CC or instal kill for end game( Haven't played sorc for two years :D). From my experience with EE groups, CC is currently possible for a fully twisted and geared wizard in EE storm horns. But I feel instant kill with 1 or 2 energy drain would be most efficient for solo runs, and I have seen a sorc killed through wheloon EE quests which impressed me. Any suggestions?

Hellball is definetely worth taking and using. One of the most used spells by me, nice damage too.

I usually don't go Necro route for a couple of reasons: 1) I don't like the playstyle, 2) you need a tons more DC to make it work realibly in Stormhorns (and with necropolis now it may be useless), 3) Enchantments works much better with a lower DC and works better coupled with Evocation.

Was that Sorcerer in Exalted Angels? Because if he was necro specc'ed, you can make it work in EA, otherwise I'm not sure it's worth it.

About the feats: I feel Epic Mental Toughness is wasted on a Sorcerer. 3 feats for 3% crit and some SP seems kinda meh.

I am comparing drow with human. (drow starts with 16 con, 20 cha)
Drow get 3 more cha (possibly 2 more dc ) and 1 more enchantment dc (+6 ehchant saves )
human get more 2 more con (30hp), 1 feat (greater focus of 1 school)? 3 more skill points in every level.

1 feat is compensated by the enchantment dc, 2 more con cant match with 3 more cha. And with 10 int and +4 tomes, drows will have 66 skill points, enough to maximize spellcraft and concentration (46 ranks), 14 ranks in umd, 2 in heal/perform/tumble each.

I am thinking probably drow will be a better choice.

14 ranks in UMD? Interesting.

Skills are a moot point, since Humans get +1 skill point per level, which is effectively +2 INT only for the purposes of skill points, the same as Drow.
I didn't actually read the thread, since I don't play casters right now so I can't evaluate relative importance of things such as DC, HP, CHA, and feats. But I know how skills work, so I could inform there.

What spells would you recommend to take on a new character while leveling?

I can't imagine getting my level up to use scorching ray by smacking stuff with a staff.

Burning hands is awesome. But honestly, I just run past everything and then spam Burning hands and Acid Spray. You should have the mana pool to do it. Get the Burning hands SLA and Empower/Maximize it, then use your normal Burning Hands and Acid Spray without Empower and Maximize. Those three spells should wipe out an entire room of mobs at low levels.

I'll update my build with the new gear from the Necrolopis 4 soon. Need 4 more MoDs for the Deific Diadem.

I usually use sonic blast + air savant slas max'd and empowered. At low levels, sonic blast stuns everything (turn off max+emp for it) and breaks everything. Imo, it's the best low level spell by far.

Sorry, I should have explained it better.

The gear setup is outdated since Update 23 was a big power creep.

Also I will run in light armor now instead of robe, because of all the prr and mrr change.

At least that is what I'm going to do with my Sorc, maybe OP disagree with me.

Also I'm not sure why you would comment that this build is outdated. It is absolutely not. Gear? Eh, maybe. I still haven't got all my gear this is why the OP is not updated.

But there you, the gear set:

- Head: Epic Deific Diadem
- Necklace: Epic Noxious Ember
- Trinket: Epic Litany of the Dead
- Cloak: GS +45 HP Gloves Mineral II (Heavy fort)
- Belt: Epic Belt of Thoughtful Remembrance
- Ring1: Calitomes' Ring (+6 Charisma, +1 Exceptional Dex, 20% Heal amp)
Ring1 Swap: EE Ring of the Djinni
- Boots: Orcish Privateer's Boots
- Gloves: Epic Fanged Gloves
- Bracers: Dumathoin's Bracers (30 PRR, 45 Elemental Resistance, Yellow Slot: Globe of True Imperial Blood)
- Armor: Shadowscale Robe (+1 Profane DC, Blue slot: Vitality +20, Green slot: Topaz of Greater Enchantment)
- Goggles: GS +6 Int skill, +4 Cha skills, Blindness Immunity
- Ring2: Lantern Ring (Colorless slot: +8 STR, Green slot: +7 Int)
- Main Hand: Thunder-Forged Scepter (+12, +36 Spell Implement, 150 Magnetism Spellpower, +6 Evocation DC, 22% Electric lore, Orange slot: Meridian Fragment)
- Off-hand: Libram of Silver Magic

Easy. If you want me to explain why I chose something over something else, I won't.

Build official up-to-date now :rolleyes:

Hi, what is up-to-date sorc build then? Or what should be changed from OP? Thinking of rolling one. Thank you

Build is pretty up-to-date. Still kicking asses everywhere with this. Missing my belt and have to re-make my GS HP Item still but I'm not sure I will bother with Epic Fanged Gloves. The SP Discount is not worth the hassle to farm Shroud for Shards to me. Also, I'd have to free the goggles slot as well to slot +3 Insightful Charisma with Intricated Fiel Optics which would mean combine HP and SP GS Item into one cloak item.

Instead, I'll just slot +2 Insightful Charisma on the Deific Diadem, Heal and Spellcraft +15 somewhere and call it a day. I'm pretty sure I won't miss that +1 Charisma and I'm not willing to bother with Shroud just for it. Of course, if you want to do it, DCs will be slightly better.

Off-hand been replaced with Libram. Fire SP and Critical are on Noxious Embers, so gained 2% Critical chance and +10 Spell power.

I would only look at droping scroll masterys add shroud to get 30% amp and drop 2 points into light armor proficiency.
Also if you want more spp you can get 3 more from harper for 3 ap heh.
Not worth it.

As i said in sestras build, im running around currently as humie sorc with 120 prr and 45 mrr, without amp ring its 125 and 50.
Mix with past lifes dodge air savant and belt + haste, it adds to 18% dodge.

That is only thing i would suggest to you to update, the ammount of defense you can have as fleshie sorc is incredibly high currently with armor up

Twist wise stop being lazy and get sense/empyrian/enchant and coocon xD

Also im droping libram for a th offhande with force, focus and universal crit.
Ruin adds up just so much dps, and i think it is worth it, would use libram if i had spare ap to get the 10 spp while wielding a orb in human tree

Also feat wise i would suggest again to drop 2 evoc feats for 1 more enchant and use 2nd one as place holder for completionist /really not that hard to get nowadays

Get Shroud and drop Epic Noxious? No way. My 20% Heal amp ToD ring is much better, there are no rings for Sorcerers anyway. With the next update it's gonna be 40 IIRC and that is more than enough for anything.

Not sure I need more defense honestly. I have around 60 PRR iirc and Displacement + Wings. Unless I play carelessly, while chatting with friends and stuff in Red Alert, it's pretty difficult to die.

I'm not doing 12 more Epic past lives to get a 4/3/2/1 setup, unless you are giving me 12 Epic stones of course :) Sense weakness is kinda useless in this update with everything being immune to Enchantment anyway. Maybe in the next one, no idea.

I've already a Force SP/focus/Force critical Thunderforged scepter when I want to use Ruin. I use that AND libram when I use Ruin. Way better. It's a bit of swapping every 15s but I'm used to it.

Why would I need 1 more Enchant? I can hold everything in this game. Completionist is not happening for the same reason I'm not getting 12 more Epic past lives. No time, not willing to.

Good. I answer people that think in a different way, just as I answered Blackheart above. I don't like people trashing other builds for no reasons and out of nowhere, specially when they are wrong.

Dude,sorry, I'm not here fighting with you about your build, I know it's a great one and probably the only one in the forum about dc sorc.

I made a mistake on the first post, but I said in the next one that the gear setup was outdated as per U23.

It wasn't my intention to say that the build was totally outdated.

Also, In my opinion I will go for Light Armor.

Didn't came here randomly. I just Tr'd into sorc again and I was looking for possibly new sorc build.

Well coming here and just saying "Hey this build is trash now, don't use it" (which is the equivalent of the Build is now outdated) sounds pretty wrong and rude to me.

Your opinion is welcomed, as long as it's stated in a good way.

The only part about this build that is outdated is the gear, which I wrote anyway some posts above and will update into the OP when I get my belt.

Light armor: yes, maybe. I didn't look into that but the idea of a Sorcerer with Light Armor, however good that is, is disturbing to me.

Thing is, you can as fleshie max 1 savant, get most char and crit line from 2nd, example fire and wind and with human charisma and action boost you get enough ap for char 1 in eldritch which also gives you shield for 10 prr mage armor for ac and light armor proficiency.
Why i like how i got my main build is simple, i dont fear getting hit in any ee content with 125 prr which gets me meridian stacks.
ALso spells hurt way less with 50 mrr.
As eth said smartly in a thread and i followed his advice, there is no reason for any arcane not to go light armor at least.
For robots addie body as well is a magnificent idea since the defenses are massive.

Example im runing around with 1100 hp, maxed dcs /more then wizza since i have past lifes, 130 prr in earth savant now /since i want mark solo speed runs and eh duo runs, maybe a eh solo for my own sake, and im just a fleshie human sorc.
Also funny fact i get to 100 ac heh.

There is apsolutely no valid reason not to go for light armor no matter how odd it sounds, the benefits are just to big with not a big investion.
It also drastically improved performance in quests

Updated with new stats, new gear, new spells, better DCs.

Only thing I'm missing is the Epic belt of thoughtful Remembrance and remake my Fire Thunderforged into a 100 Potency/22% Fire lore stick and then gear should be fine until the next attempt of an update.

Hi, I got a completionist toon, working on epic completionist now... My idea was to do a pale master after I finish, but it seems you can get more than enough DCs as a sorc, and much more spell DPS than wizard, so in the end the character would be very better. So, I changed my mind and now I want to do a DC sorc. Well, I just saw your build and was wondering why not drow instead of human?

Mostly for three reasons:

1) I don't like their looks
2) I don't really think you need those extra Charisma and I couldn't really fit with my very tight AP
3) I like the extra feat and skills points

On the other side, if you can fit AP, build does not change much. The DC you lose from the feat lost will be gained through the extra Cha and skills points well..should have more than enough for Heal, UMD and Spellcraft which are the most important.

It's a long time since my toon was a sorc but I remember using most spells without it.
Is it possible to completely skip it or are there spells where you would say it's absolutely required to have quicken on?
Fleshy sorc by the way for that matter.

You saw the light finally.

I use it always on spells with a long casting animation and/or of vital importance, such as Otto's dance, Mind fog, Solid fog, Enervation, PW:S, Otto's Irres, Crushing Despair, Mass hold, Hellball. I only use it on nuke spells when I know that I absolutely can't avoid damage, say in the statue fight in EE HH, face tanking some easy bosses like golems in Fleshmakers.

I mostly zerg (and die zerging) and put a CC up, so not having quicken for Otto and Mind fog would suck for me. If you go non-enchantment route, I'd probably skip it.

Yea, I've actually done it now. Had my wizzy at cap for months and barely played the toon anymore. It's gotten kind of stale. Need something different.

Smashed my way through low levels to level 5 now.
Really surprised how powerful the SLAs are now, I remember playing arcanes with an axe in very low levels (that was around U15) and always hated that, but burning hands, acid spray SLA with maximise/empower just one shots everything now.

My toon doesn't even have gear at this point (lowest item in TR cache is ML11, appearantly I left all my low level items on Thelanis, lol).

Good points on quicken. I think in the end it's probably worth more than having another DC in something secondary. I'll take it for now.

Yeah, I'm surprised when people talk bad about Sorcerer's SLAs. Lightning bolt is definetely a beast, hitting up to 2k+ when lucky and almost always multiple mobs. Get the Maximize, Empowered burning hands at level 1 and you win the game until Fireball. Then you win even more and never stop.

Don't forget the unsuppressed Vibrant Purple Ioun stone for Archmagi at level 5!

What do you guys think about adding ToD set and/or 3pc abishai set? Not worth it?

I don't see a single spell in wizzas list that would benefit from abishai set. Highest MCL are chain lightining and DBF which are both capped at MCL 20.
Abishai set doesn't raise MCL, does it?

Would the Draconic SLAs benefit from it? I know for energy burst it actually shows a higher CL with abishai set on, but I never tested if it actually does more damage.

ToD set is OK for 2% crit chance, but the belt is so hard to justify in that slot with the new belts from orchard.

And what? TOD set doesn't add +2 MCL anymore?

OK, ToD sets...this is from memory, but I think that's how it is/was...

Originally they gave you crit. chance + crit. multiplier.
However when you equipped the set (while being in the appropriate savant), what the buff bonus actually said was, that the set also increases your (M?)CL by two.
I did tests on the CL thing years ago and found that it didn't do anything to your CL. The crit. chance and crit. multiplier however was what worked.

ToD sets now just give a plain 2% artifact bonus to crit. chance. So that stacks with everything else.

I already capped my sorc and did 1 ER on top if it this week (lvl 27 as of now) ;)
To quote one of my guildies: "You still play that sorc like a friggin wizard, don't you?"
I play in EA, Fire/Acid, Necro specced. DCs are actually close to wizard, but then you have shorter casting times, shorter cooldowns, more SP, no need for quicken on most spells, which makes it even cheaper...

And yea, nuking any huge HP meatbag is so easy where you would really struggle on a wiz.
Caster levels, spellpower and the available SLAs make a huge difference in that regard.

Need to get used to playing without saves though.
Blindness immunity, fear immunity seems to be necessary (don't have free slots though).
Diseases all the time, bleh.
Elemental form immunities help a lot though.

This is what my friend is doing as well. Play a Sorcerer like a Wizard, just being better. Wizard has no space in this game, as of the latest updates. Sorcerers can do everything Wizards can, and better. You play in EA, go full ****** on CHA and you have a 70 DC Necro/Enchant Sorcerer with half of the cooldown of Wizards, 50% more SP, Elemental form immunities, Wings and Boss damage.

Um, yes, heaving 0 HAmp is pretty ****** in every regard.
Bracers are for spellcraft, guess a weapon set with stick+libram could cover that for nuking, but swapping would get annoying. Otherwise I only have a +11 augment so would lose quite some SPP.

Shroud of Ardent is also a nice idea to cover Hamp + PRR, would free both ring and gloves.
Glad I took Circle of Malevolence for my 80th MoD instead of that, yay for running more MoDs...

Not saying you should run with 0, but I think with the new formula, 20% is enough. And Sev said we might actually see HAmp augments soon, hope they make it in. I'd make a point about 9 Spellpower being "quite some" but instead, just go loot a +15 Spellcraft augment :P

I already swap to my q-staffs for enchant, necro sometimes (if the 1 extra DC is really needed), that would be another swap set just for nuking. Problem would be anyway that I'd miss 150 acid spp with Libram instead of my orb, so in the end it wouldn't pay off.
I'm certainly not gonna redo all my thunderforged at this point :D
Was thinking about farming for a 22% fire stick, but with epic amrath and vale coming it will probably end up being a waste.

Replacing Torc with Shroud and Guardian's Ring with ToD ring looks good enough for me for now.
Gives me 40 extra HAmp, 6 PRR and some free slots. I only lose the Torc Proc.

Edit: lol and I also have gloves free then, guess I put my -10% sp gloves back on then.

What's your Enchant DC? I have around 60 and I can hold everything in the world if I use either Mind Fog or Crushing Despair. I'm pretty sure you have higher DCs than me since you went full Cha and I can tell you that you don't need to swap anything for an extra +1 DC. Maybe necro, since those are usually more difficult, but for sure not enchant.

If you would go for Epic Noxious Ember, you'd have Fire there, make an Acid stick with 22% Fire lore on it if you want that extra 5% on fire spells + Libram and you wouldn't lose anything.

The staff is necessary since I don't have enchant on gear. Can swap to sage's mantle, but can't do that at the start of the quest since that would lose me 300 SP (GS Cloak). DC with staff is 67, with sages mantle and normal sticks 65.

Recrafting the nuking stick would work, but like I said not sure if I want to do that at this point. But then it's a difference of 7% crit...

Anyway got my shroud of ardent in a MoD yesterday. Appearantly I don't even have Dumathoin's Bracers, so at this point I'll go with that.

You guys may want to test more on that tod set cl, because from my testing there is a clear dps increase. Not from crit chance but for mcl increase.

It is hard to slot with current rings/belt though.

I trust your word. Honestly, I don't really want to test stuff when not even the Developers know the system. I just can't be bothered at this point.

or 10 hp for 15 fire spell power in tier 5 air savant.

Everything is counted with Superior Potions bought in House Jorasco, giving 25 Alchemical Spell Power (5 more than Shavarath belts) and Potions of Spellpower from CoVs

Eh if it's that much, I'm probably not interested. I thought it could be some more.

Potions of spell power got from commandation of valors (+20), STACK with alchemical superior spell power potions got from house "phiarlan object desiree".

I'm comparing your spell power with the spellpower in my druid build at this address:
https://www.ddo.com/forums/showthread.php/454645-DeathTitan-Ice-Druid

I'll list the differences that I noticed with your build:

- start with int 16 and con 16, so you get +2 spell power;
- epic skill focus spellcraft for +5 spellcraft (instead of hellball that I always found weak);
- in your spellcraft calculation you wrote "11 int modifier" while I'm reaching 26 int modifier (it's -15 spellcraft), maybe you should improve your intelligence score (libram of silver magic gives +11 int);
- you are equipping an item that gives only +15 spellcraft, while there are other items that can give you +20 spellcraft;
- you have the "+1 mask" (damn, I don't have that mask :P :D . I want it :D );
- I don't see "+3 forbidden library" ship buff in your spellcraft calculation;
- are you using "+2 good luck" augment to increase your spellcraft by +2?
- by spending 36 ap in the harper tree, you get +48 spell power, +2 charisma and +2 intelligence (see how I spent my points in the harper tree);
- you wrote "+2 Epic Litany" in your spellcraft calculation, but epic litany doesn't give you +2 to spellcraft or spellpower because it gives only +2 to all "attributes" and +4 to melee attack and damage, so you should remove it from your spellpower calculation;
- you can consider "+1 phiarlan inspiration ship buff" in your spellpower calculation;
- you can replace "Rejuvenation Cocoon" with "fey form" for +15 spell power, and play with a bladeforged sorcerer instead: I think that all the effort that fleshy sorcerers spend for better survivability is innate in the bladeforged race (I never been able to play a fleshy sorcerer, so feel free to ignore what I wrote in this point ;) );
- you don't have +15 spell power from "draconic mind" blue dragon set bonus;
- you don't have the +10 insightful potency of libram of silver magic;
- in your spell power calculation you are including the +24 Meridian Fragment spell power bonus: do you really think you can get that bonus with a fleshy sorcerer in epic elite content? (I avoid physical contact with enemies with a self healing druid in medium armor with 100 prr, but if you are able sustain the meridian buff, good for you ;) );
- why you didn't got "human traditionalist caster" enhancement? you are loosing 10 spell power from not picking it (replace your left hand thunder-forged scepter with a thunder-forged orb, or just equip libram of silver magic);

About your equipment:
- you can replace your cloak with the sage's mangle that gives +5 enchantment DC;
- you can replace your belt with the green steel that you are equipping on cloak (you get +11 charisma from libram of silver magic);
- you can have the charisma on libram of silver magic;
- if you are a warforged you can avoid "Calitomes' Ring" and equip a circle of malevolence or an epic ring of the master artificer, or anything else;
- the "Thunder-Forged Scepter" in your left hand is almost useless because you get +150 fire spellpower from noxious embers, +1 enchantment dc compared with the sage's mantle, +3% more fire critical and "-2% lightning spell critical" if you consider that you could equip the libram of silver magic insightful spell lore +2%;
- if you really dislike the libram of silver magic, then you could equip a thunderforged quarterstaff together with sage's mantle, so you have the same enchantment dc, +1 evocation dc, more spell critical, more weapon implement bonus.

Conclusions: my friend "Vanooger" reaches 700-800 spell power with his sorcerer (don't ask me how because I don't know... I can only tell how to reach 700+ spell power with a druid) and still be able to crowd control and bypass reflex saves of enemies with his human sorcerer.
I think that your build is a good build, but it's far from optimal.

- epic skill focus spellcraft for +5 spellcraft (instead of hellball that I always found weak); -it is on a druid but a elec fire specd sorc gets very good bonuses for most elements making it a must pick, try it out when you reach the crit chance a sorc and spp can reach in those elements, its a entirely different spell when you are 28
- in your spellcraft calculation you wrote "11 int modifier" while I'm reaching 26 int modifier (it's -15 spellcraft), maybe you should improve your intelligence score (libram of silver magic gives +11 int); - i guess he was just being lazy
- you are equipping an item that gives only +15 spellcraft, while there are other items that can give you +20 spellcraft;

- by spending 36 ap in the harper tree, you get +48 spell power, +2 charisma and +2 intelligence (see how I spent my points in the harper tree); - With that you lose caster levels from dual tree, sorcs generally dont splash as druids do in harper since you actually lose more dps then gain from spellpower due to caster/max caster level/form etc
- you wrote "+2 Epic Litany" in your spellcraft calculation, but epic litany doesn't give you +2 to spellcraft or spellpower because it gives only +2 to all "attributes" and +4 to melee attack and damage, so you should remove it from your spellpower calculation;
-Generally most casters use mark helm, since you really need those 2 dcs to land instakills for example as sorc in some content so you are locked out from blue set making litany best in slot
- you can consider "+1 phiarlan inspiration ship buff" in your spellpower calculation;
- you can replace "Rejuvenation Cocoon" with "fey form" for +15 spell power, and play with a bladeforged sorcerer instead: I think that all the effort that fleshy sorcerers spend for better survivability is innate in the bladeforged race (I never been able to play a fleshy sorcerer, so feel free to ignore what I wrote in this point ;) );
-no need a fleshie can easily contest and survive in ee, and even better if your dcs are high enough, bf loses on dcs and spellpower and if you have 4 3 2 1 twist slot you really have nothing to put into that 1 slot anyways
- you don't have +15 spell power from "draconic mind" blue dragon set bonus;
- as i said before you cant slot in the blue set as the helm is to valuable
- you don't have the +10 insightful potency of libram of silver magic;
- he as most of us swaps it in and out, so if you can call that sustained no idea, i know i use it as main offhand most of the time but sometimes i need dual dcs from dualhanders or 2handers, libram is to situotional on sorcs imo
- in your spell power calculation you are including the +24 Meridian Fragment spell power bonus: do you really think you can get that bonus with a fleshy sorcerer in epic elite content? (I avoid physical contact with enemies with a self healing druid in medium armor with 100 prr, but if you are able sustain the meridian buff, good for you ;) );
-yes you can easily sustain it, as i said in your thread im reaching for example 950-1200 hp with 120-130 prr with 15-18% dodge depending on final form, i can get hit by almost anything and survive to get my stacks quite easy, never forget that a sorc has the ability to use multiple layers of defensive cc spells
- why you didn't got "human traditionalist caster" enhancement? you are loosing 10 spell power from not picking it (replace your left hand thunder-forged scepter with a thunder-forged orb, or just equip libram of silver magic);

About your equipment:

-yes because you use enchant and not evoc spells, powers of sorcs lie in enchant +evoc and either necro +enchant +evoc, its almost useless to pick feats in evoc as sorc nowadys
I think that your build is a good build, but it's far from optimal.

I thought you said ACTION POINTS. Not re-doing my whole build to make it suitable for you.

- start with int 16 and con 16, so you get +2 spell power;

No. I'm not gonna LR, let alone TR, to get +2 spell power.

- epic skill focus spellcraft for +5 spellcraft (instead of hellball that I always found weak);

This is as good as taking Epic skill focus: Swim.

- in your spellcraft calculation you wrote "11 int modifier" while I'm reaching 26 int modifier (it's -15 spellcraft), maybe you should improve your intelligence score (libram of silver magic gives +11 int);

Maybe actually read the whole build. I have +11 on Deific Diadem. Tell me how to improve my Int score with suggestions that make sense at least

- you are equipping an item that gives only +15 spellcraft, while there are other items that can give you +20 spellcraft;

Again, tell me an example of gearset with +20 Spellcraft item on it and let's see if I like it.

- I don't see "+3 forbidden library" ship buff in your spellcraft calculation;

My Spellcraft calculation is not 100% accurate I believe. Missing more than that I believe.

- are you using "+2 good luck" augment to increase your spellcraft by +2?

Good point.

- by spending 36 ap in the harper tree, you get +48 spell power, +2 charisma and +2 intelligence (see how I spent my points in the harper tree);

I hope you are kidding. If you are not, I suggest you to play a Sorcerer before giving them suggestions. You are asking a Sorcerer to NOT focus on a secondary element, thus losing all my Fire Spell Power AND my Fire dot to get 48 Spell power and +2 (TWO) Intelligence.

- you wrote "+2 Epic Litany" in your spellcraft calculation, but epic litany doesn't give you +2 to spellcraft or spellpower because it gives only +2 to all "attributes" and +4 to melee attack and damage, so you should remove it from your spellpower calculation;

I will.

- you can consider "+1 phiarlan inspiration ship buff" in your spellpower calculation;

I'm not gonna spend three hours to get a +1 buff in the Cargo hold every hour. I never bothered with the old ship buffs and I will not bother now.

- you can replace "Rejuvenation Cocoon" with "fey form" for +15 spell power, and play with a bladeforged sorcerer instead: I think that all the effort that fleshy sorcerers spend for better survivability is innate in the bladeforged race (I never been able to play a fleshy sorcerer, so feel free to ignore what I wrote in this point ;) );

You could TR to Artificer and play a PDK. I don't like bladeforgeds, they are too easy.

- you don't have +15 spell power from "draconic mind" blue dragon set bonus;
- you don't have the +10 insightful potency of libram of silver magic;

Libram is situational. And again, show me a gear set for Sorcerer that is reasonable.

- in your spell power calculation you are including the +24 Meridian Fragment spell power bonus: do you really think you can get that bonus with a fleshy sorcerer in epic elite content? (I avoid physical contact with enemies with a self healing druid in medium armor with 100 prr, but if you are able sustain the meridian buff, good for you ;) );

MAX TOTAL of 592. When it happens, happens. And yes, I get that bonus all the time. I'm a man, I don't avoid any physical contact with them.

- why you didn't got "human traditionalist caster" enhancement? you are loosing 10 spell power from not picking it (replace your left hand thunder-forged scepter with a thunder-forged orb, or just equip libram of silver magic);

Was thinking about that already actually. Will need to sacrifice points from somewhere else most likely and I need to re-make a TF weapon which I don't want to.

About your equipment:
- you can replace your cloak with the sage's mangle that gives +5 enchantment DC;

Why would I replace my cloak with sage's mantle when I have +6 Enchant on my Weapon?
Why would I remove my belt, which is an awesome CONSTITUION +11 and Dodge item? Where do I get my Con+11 item them?
Why would I need +11 Charisma from Libram if I have it on my Helm?
Why would I TR to BF just to equip a Circle of malevolence or anything else?
If I lose my Cloak and my belt, where do I get a +11 Con and +11 Dodge items?

Your ideas are kind of confused, you just say random suggestions without thinking to the whole plan.

Conclusions: my friend "Vanooger" reaches 700-800 spell power with his sorcerer (don't ask me how because I don't know... I can only tell how to reach 700+ spell power with a druid) and still be able to crowd control and bypass reflex saves of enemies with his human sorcerer.

Tell him Lannist- I send my regards. Show me how to get 700-800 SP on a Sorcerer and I will think about it.

Before you do it, make sure you are not dumping 40 points into the Harper tree at least.

epic inferno bracers (http://ddowiki.com/page/Item:Epic_Inferno_Bracers) (and equip guardian's ring and circle of malevolence for prr/mrr)

If you want more prr you can equip a light armor (shadow armor, blue dragon, whatever) and take "light armor proficiency" enhancement in the eldritch knight tree (it's +9 prr for only 2 AP).
I still don't understand what your build is focused in... it doesn't have max spell power: what sorcerer don't focus on spell power?. it doesn't have max prr: so why are you equipping dumathoin's bracers?. It's focused on DC, ok.
you are wasting the gloves slot for only +35 hp: instead of blindness immunity in the green steel item, get +10 hp (blindness immunity can be slotted in a yellow slot; necro 4 items have tons of slots). this way you can keep your belt with +11 dodge (sorry, I'm not a man because I crowd control enemies avoiding physical contact) and move your +6 exceptional int skills item on gloves.

However, I will not speak about equipment anymore: there are hundreds of equipment combinations.
I'm simply saying that your equipment doesn't maximize spellpower, but if you prefer hit points over spell power then your equipment is the best.

you could remove the points you spent in the eldritch knight tree otherwise I could think that you prefer +15 hit points over +10 universal spell power.
Ok, you spend points in eldritch knight tree in order to have wand and scroll mastery: it's reasonable (one more reason for which I would not run a fleshy sorcerer).

I'm a man.

Electric: 523
Fire: 433

My druid has about 500 spell power ice at level "20"... that's why I'm trying to suggesting you better solutions.
Unless you are saying that druids have higher spell power than sorcerers.

You are asking a Sorcerer to NOT focus on a secondary element, thus losing all my Fire Spell Power.

ahahaahahahah! :D

yes, just focus on 1 element and cast your secondary element like a wizard with the spells cooldown of a sorcerer. Harper tree not only gives more universal spell power to your primary and secondary elements, but also gives you +2 charisma and +1 DC to "all" spells thanks to "moment of clarity" (that is also a clicky that gives +10 DC with 5 minutes cooldown... a lot better than magister arcane spellsurge for those who like to use such abilities), more spell points, more hit points (those hit points that you are wasting by taking "toughness" eldritch knight enhancement tree).
Do not underestimate harper tree.

Off topic:
Overvaan, thank you very much for the advices you gave about my druid.
I used a +3 heart of wood and got 3 sorcerer levels, you were right in many points.
With those 3 sorcerer levels now I have more spell power, more critical chance, 2 more caster levels on draconic abilities thanks to water savant core abilities, 3 more caster levels on draconic abilities thanks to abishai set (that I equip as final equipment).
Lol, I also found a way to get more DC after transforming my druid in an int based one.
My self healing is reduced by 30% because I use "regenerate" instead of "regenerate mass" and because I don't have druid capstone anymore, but I'm still able to survive.

We need you, Overvaan. Don't quit the game ;)

If you keep saying "I don't want this", "I don't want that", then you will never improve.

I once said to Overvaan: "I don't want to splash my druid", but I was wrong because after splashing my druid with 3 sorcerer levels it became a lot stronger (especially with draconic incarnation abilities).

P.S.: I sacrificed "call lightning" sla and "word of balance" sla to get harper tree spell power. Those are far better than that crappy lightning bolt sla.
So yes, having max spell power make the difference for me about oneshotting a mob and using multiple spells to kill him: I honestly prefer to one-sot.

Good luck with your overpowered 433 spell power ;)

One day I will return sorcerer (after I played about 20 lives with sorcerers to get almost all heroic and iconic past lives): for now I'm working on my druid.

I also just read your build :D Nice way of skyrocketing numbers.

I'll show you how mine skyrockets as well:

523 Electric
+30 Action boost
+50 Draconic Fury
+25 Eardweller
+25 Electrocution
+20 Empyrean Magic
+24 Meridian Fragment

OMG I suddenly have 697 SPELL POWER SORCERES OP MUST NERF

Lightning bolt SLA crappy :) Go back to your druid, I appreaciate your good luck suggestion tho, it was a good one.

Oh wait, with Good luck I have 699 Spell power, will take Epic skill focus: spellcraft to go above 702.

Investing 36 points into harper to gain 44 spellpower only gives you a total spp gain of 17. Simply because spending points into a savant tree gives you 0.75 universal spp per AP.
So you gained 17 spp to our main element.

But you lose 50 spp, crit. chances, 25 proc spp for your secondary element, making your sorc a one trick pony, that can't do smack when you face something that's immune to your main element. And you also lose cores like Immolation, which give you more DPS then that extra 17 spp you get from harper.

I tried harper on my sorc. It's absolutely horrible compared to a second savant tree.

It's an option. I prefer to concentrate on 1 element, and being slower with my secondary elementS when I face something immune to my primary element.

Spending in the Harper tree is more than 17: especially considering that a savant tree gives 0.75 per AP spent.

I thought you said ACTION POINTS. Not re-doing my whole build to make it suitable for you.

No. I'm not gonna LR, let alone TR, to get +2 spell power.

This is as good as taking Epic skill focus: Swim.

Maybe actually read the whole build. I have +11 on Deific Diadem. Tell me how to improve my Int score with suggestions that make sense at least

Again, tell me an example of gearset with +20 Spellcraft item on it and let's see if I like it.

My Spellcraft calculation is not 100% accurate I believe. Missing more than that I believe.

Good point.

I will.

I'm not gonna spend three hours to get a +1 buff in the Cargo hold every hour. I never bothered with the old ship buffs and I will not bother now.

You could TR to Artificer and play a PDK. I don't like bladeforgeds, they are too easy.

Libram is situational. And again, show me a gear set for Sorcerer that is reasonable.

MAX TOTAL of 592. When it happens, happens. And yes, I get that bonus all the time. I'm a man, I don't avoid any physical contact with them.

Was thinking about that already actually. Will need to sacrifice points from somewhere else most likely and I need to re-make a TF weapon which I don't want to.

Tell him Lannist- I send my regards. Show me how to get 700-800 SP on a Sorcerer and I will think about it.

Before you do it, make sure you are not dumping 40 points into the Harper tree at least.

Never claimed to be. But it is anyway.

Yes, I had more spell power then this build but I was a fire sorcerer. Fire spell power is much easier to get in exchange of some survivability but I didn't notice it to be honest. The only thing I was missing was the konckdown thing but not even that much with the prr/mrr change & light armor.

Sorry I probably quoted the wrong post

I'll be more precise.

If you spend 36 points in the harper tree you get this "universal" spell power: +16 agent of good III +1 int modifier +3 harper enchantment +15 versatile adept IV +3 highly skilled +10 harper enchantment of magic = 48

If you spend 36 points in your secondary savant tree you get this spellpower: 36 * 0.75 = 27

So it's +21 universal spell power (you can even get even get vigor of life instead of spell points or hit points for more healing amplification, you also get +1 DC if you get moment of clarity).

However I respect the fact that you prefer to grow a secondary element instead of spending points in the harper tree (I would probably do the same thing, growing a secondary element).
I just proposed and alternative way to increase spell power.

Now I'm running an intelligence based druid 17 / water savant 3 in draconic destiny, its dps is increased a lot, but I don't have any videos of my new build.

Um, versatile adept IV and Enchantment of magic?
I'm pretty sure even vanhooger and overvaan will agree that not taking Tier 5 savant abilities is pretty terrible.
The 15% damage debuff alone is more worth than any of the spell power increases your suggestions bring.
Leave alone the other goodies...

That distribution wouldn't even work with your other suggestions.
You can't go 41+36 and take stuff like Traditional Caster from Human.
If you don't go 41 in savant you lose your capstone, that would be even more terrible.

your build is good. it doesn't suck at all (but it can be improved).

In my build I calculated separately "sustainable" spell power and "not sustainable" spell power: the 670 spell power that you wrote is not sustainable at all.

for example eardweller recharges 1 use per rest, and I don't believe that when you are soloing "what goes up" your are able to being hit so much to keep 24 psionic spell power sustainable and stay alive.

Draconic fury is not sustainable (4 minutes cooldown and has a 20 seconds duration), however I could find useful before casting energy burst + dragon breath at the beginning of a boss fight.

then don't take human stuff. play bladeforged.

the only thing I would be sorry to loose is "Awaken Elemental Weakness: Electric"; I don't care about wind dance, elemental diversification and lightning bolt sla.
If you want to specialize in single target damage, choose another element because electric is best suited for area of effect damage.

Do you prefer having permanent +27 universal spell power or "awaken elemental weakness"?
Do you prefer +27 universal spell power or +15 spell power in one element from elemental diversification?
Do you prefer +1 evocation or moment of clarity +1 DC to all spells?

However, I'm really not saying that harper tree is better than a secondary element tree: please I don't want to continue speaking about harper tree because I don't have tested harper tree on a sorcerer.
I spoke about harper tree only because it gives more spell power to your main element, but I never said that it's better: choose whatever tree you prefer ;)

All the 'improvements' you listed so far have some severe drawbacks that you simply seem to ignore.
Spellpower is important, but not everything.
Blue dragon set...sure I have that, still won't wear it because that directly loses 1-3 DCs.
Landing and not landing your spell DCs can be huge (50% loss not landing your Evocation DC, another 80% not landing your enchant for helpless damage).
5 spellpower in exchange for Hellball... Hellball is one of the best spells in the game.

Bladeforged - lol, no elemental form, awesome, there goes another 20 spellpower, caster levels and 2% crit. chance and 1 charisma.

I said bladeforged because in order to survive in fleshy form I would waste much things (fey form instead of cocoon, items to increase healing amplification, and a lot of other stuff).
However nothing prevents a bladeforged to transform in elemental form in less dangerous situations (for example in a group that takes care of front line defense while you are back spamming your spells in elemental form). You can switch between bladeforged and elemental form based on situations.

Jergall is a sorcerer in my guild on Cannith who is able to crowd control 95% of times with his bladeforged and equipping the blue dragon set; he also have no problems with evocation DC. and he is building a bladeforged fire savant with more than 200 prr with divine crusader main epic destiny. If he can, then everyone can.

Please can you tell me how hellball is one of the best spells in the game? A lot of people say that but I still can't find how it is good.
Let's say that I did some tests with 600 cold spell power (what spell power uses hellball? different spell power for each element? or the highest spellpower?):
1) I stepped in epic elite black loch and pulled an hobgoblin;
2) I debuffed him heavily (evocation spell augmentation -10 reflex, mantle of the icy soul, solid fog green steel clicky), so let's say that hellball DC was 79 (assuming that the dc is the same of energy burst);
3) Oh wait, I just read that hellball DC is 20 + caster stat modifier (please tell me that it's not true!), what DC do you reach? (Farwind would reach 46 dc with his 62 charisma... ).
4) At last I cast 3 hellballs to kill that stupid hobgoblin (3 hellballs to kill 1 hobgoblin?).

Please teach me how to use hellball because I also think that +5 epic skill focus spellcraft is lame for a level 28 feat, but I can't find a better offensive level 28 feat for a dps caster.
Read this thread about hellball: https://www.ddo.com/forums/showthread.php/424665-Epic-Destiny-Feats-HellBall?

Do we want to speak about Ruin spell? I made tests with Ruin spell and it's dealing 5k damage on critical (I'm not force specced though). To tell the truth I prefer +1 charisma. I find difficult that a sorcerer needs Ruin with all the spells he has at disposal. If you are afraid that you don't have enough DC for your spells, then don't take Ruin instead of +1 charisma lol. If you are thinking about Ruin damage numbers on helpless mobs, remember that bosses can't be made helpless.

Another thing: when you cast an energy burst, or dragon breath, or energy vortex, the only things that matter are spell power and caster level.

Please, can you make a test for me?
Jergall said that energy burst and dragon breath cap at level 39: can you check if it's true?
A sorcerer with the abishai set and arcane augmentation IX should have a caster level a lot higher than 39.
If you decide to make the test, consider that "draconic spell knowledge" increase the caster level of dragon breath, but not of energy burst; Abishai set increase the caster level of energy burst, but not dragon breath (at least it's what combat log says when I'm equipping the abishai set, even if I have the impression that my dragon breath deal more damage then energy burst when equipping abishai set and only 1 point of draconic spell knowledge).

Well if you cast hellball in the right spot it can doublestrike. So then you just add your spell power goodiness/crits and it can easily equate to a 4k-8k nuke aoe on a very very short cd (no helpless included).

Make your target helpess first.

even with a druid I can instant kill everthing without making anyone helpless (for example orcs in what goes up or anything in lines of supply, epic elite of course). Sorcerers deal more damage with it because they have an higher caster level.
Why should I need hellball against helpless mobs when I can cast chain lightning + ball lightning + delayed blast fireball without metamagic, spend less spell points and doing 5x more damage? You sorcerers are so lucky because you have tons of area of effect spells (we druids are crying because we have no decent area of effect spells and we have to rely on draconic sla to mimic sorcerers and not being as good as them with draconic destiny).

Ok, you don't like +5 epic skill focus spellcraft (I usually focus on 1 element), but you... you... you are specced in 2 emelents, take +20 spell power in your secondary element if you really care about it...

Everyone (me included) in that thread is saying that hellball does 200+200+200+etcetera damage (maybe 400+400+400+etcetera damage) on non helpless mobs (lol, my call lightning with low lightning spell power does 2k damage with full metamagic when crits, and I consider it weak).

can you respond to all my other questions about hellball? for example its DC? is it really 20 + charisma modifier? if that's true, how many times you will see those numbers? why am I never saw those numbers with an extremized spellpower druid build? why I had to cast 3 hellballs on an hobgoblin to kill him? Do you really need hellball when you have all those good sorcerer spells?

Nice, but not impressed.
You made it helpless with sunburst (do you have sense weakness?).
It still does less damage then chain lightning + ball lightning + dbf without metamagic and still with an higher cost.

As I said you can take secondary spell power +20 instead, you don't need hellball.
I'm still not sure about its DC (46?)
