Ooh - nice set of fixes.

Now just fix UMD-recalc-lag, and at-the-minimum add a 2:1 ingred swapper recipe for Evenstar Challenge Ingredients (and/or make them BTA). K thx.

Also... I see the Mabar event scales to 25... is there also a new ~L24 item tier to craft or even wholly new items?

It's completable. Do left side first, then right side. Leave all characters with any sort of healing or damage aura running at the quest entrance before engaging the infected wizard on the left path in the back room. Really, don't let a RS, FS or PM near him - Buggers up the action script. Do none of the optionals until the quest completes and you get your XP. You may then DDoor to finish the optionals if desired. It's oh so fun!

As designed, should or should not Adrenaline apply to thrown weapons, and has anyone checked what actually occurs?

The Monster Manual requirements for Kobold Hunter have been reduced so that all Hunter deeds can be unlocked.

Bats & Earth Elementals are still their live values, which are apparently unattainable by other posters.

The Raid Timer Bypass item are now unbound, and can be traded or auctioned.

Fail.


The Legendary Dreadnought's Momentum Swing now property states that it requires a weapon in order to be used.

Why fix what you can simply change the description of?

Oh man, how i love turbine way of fixing things...
My barbarian keeps getting hit with Frenzy/Death Frenzy everytime he shoots with a bow (but gets no extra dmg dice) for the last 2 updates, they don't seem to have the time to fix that, but there is always time to nerf the only thing that saved the update for him....

I stopped playing this game for 1 year, came back to check this update and its so interesting to see how somethings changed: pay 2 win: Epic Destinies, my 2nd account won't ever be used because it's useless now without EDs, +2 twist of fate tomes (seriously? DDO store only? something equivalent to 6 lvls of an ED), raid bypass timer? jez...

But i am glad the old classics will never change: Never decreasing number of bugs, no constant rules (everything is so buggy and keeps changing that its impossible to plan a char, that fury of the wild adrenaline nerf will end up causing me to TR again...which i won't because something else will change soon anyway)...

Change back Fury of the Wild Adrenaline to work on ranged, stop nerfing, stop selling p2w stuff and start fixing bugs before making changes, you need a solid base before start tweaking and at the moment everything is all over the place, this current Turbine model is really not working,

Since the last character wipe on lamma was pre-U14, my Acrobat is too small to test this... could someone please see if Earthquake knocks down acrobats (who are completely immune to knockdown) just like Flung Spider Poo, err, Web Line trip does?

It will also be interesting to see how fast a pack of mobs spawned by a group of 25s can kill off a group of lowbies.

The optional objective timer has been slightly increased for Elite difficulty.



You meant Overgrowth? There is no timed optional in Outbreak AFAIK. Am I missing something?

Make sure none of them have any of the Angel of Vengeance (including Shield of Condemnation for some unknown reason) or Exalted Angel abilities active. Maybe this will be fixed with the next patch?

Yeah because two clicks are far better than having a bunch more of players with their proper char to test stuff. Lol.

It does not matter what gets tested, whats on lamma goes live. Bugs, exploits and broken quests. Alot of folks that used to hit lamma up stopped going or they check it out, but dont bother reporting the bugs.

Turbine, you are the killer of ddo, not another game. Sad when you are your own worst enemy...

The Unyielding Sentinel's Intolerant Blow has been reworked, and now allows a player to spend one Smite Evil to gain +1000% Sacred bonus to threat generation, and deal +1(W) damage. These benefits will last for twelve seconds.

Um...why?

Intolerant Blow was an interesting ability to cycle in along with Intimidate in order to grab aggro of a crowd, and was rather useful on creatures that were unaffected by Intimidate, such as spiders (prevalent in the new content). Changing it to a straight threat generation bonus is both rather dull, and completely removes the previously unique functionality that it afforded.

PLEASE REVERT THIS CHANGE!

As for Adrenaline no longer working with ranged attacks, what's the justification for this? If it's considered to be too powerful getting Adrenaline on all 4 arrows of a Manyshot volley, then do the coding legwork to have Adrenaline only affect one of the arrows in the volley. There are already too many abilities in the game that don't work with ranged combat without adding yet another one. That this is a core ability for an entire destiny, which already only barely worked with ranged combat should lend even more weight to not making it entirely unusable. You already can't regenerate Adrenaline with ranged combat, so such characters are either limited to the base number of Adrenaline granted by Fury levels, or are forced to swap to melee, which they often are forced to anyway, which is a problem.

Pure speculation but i would guess that it's either due to not being familiar with the game they design or alternatively that they felt that it would be to strenous for a paladin fury to tank bosses. Prior to the change the paladin fury would only be able to achieve ~25k threat, or 50k if the 31% double strike procs, in a single attack. They might actually need to do additional attacks.
with this change they can get 70k/140k threat in a single attack and should thus be safe to put a weight on the block button and afk the rest of the bossfight.

Actually, adrenaline with MS isn't overpowered since a overload smiter get's substantially higher damage/adrenaline. What they could have done is to make it not work with IPS, then again that isn't very overpowered compared to DI.

Then again, adrenaline ms is kinda crazy broken, same as overload smiting. The sensible thing to do would be to remove the +range from adrenaline and up the numer/frequencies of uses and/or the base damage increase.

Intolerant Blow wasn't functioning correctly in most cases, not actually adding the threat it claimed to. We spent some time trying to get the original version working correctly. We decided to make the ability functional even if that meant making it less cool.

Is this a temporary solution, a la Deadly Weapons doing 1d8 Force for a while before being changed to grant the +1[W] bonus, or the end of the story?

While I don't mind seeing more sources of hate generation, and especially twistable ones, but I'd much prefer to see this ability function as advertised, or at least something close to it. Could it trigger an Intimidate-like effect that isn't barred by being mindless?

I'd like to know as well. Because right now, for people affected by UMD lag, being hit by a disjunction ball means not moving for a very long time, and in Against the demon queen you can get chain-disjuncted very easily.

This is the best news I have heard from a dev in years! Finally all the tooltips and such will be accurate. of course, this will mean all the bugs will be fixed.... errr changed to WAI.

Why havent you spoked with those geniuses from brown univ that wrote ddo? Did you burn those bridges? ;)

I tested out the lvl 21 and 22 Hirelings (because that is all my lvl 20 on Lama can test) and they have Rez now (again)!

Rangers/AA's finally get a tiny boost to make them at least somewhat close to other classes in usefulness and now you're gonna nerf it??? Like seriously? Guess I go back to having no reason to play my ranger again. Some of the idea's you guys come up with are just pathetic.

Tenser's Transformation has been changed to the following effects: You gain a +4 Alchemical bonus to Strength, Dexterity, and Constitution, a +6 Alchemical bonus to Armor Class, and proficiency with all simple and martial weapons. Your Base Attack Bonus equals your character level. Your spellcasting ability is reduced, resulting in a -2 penalty to all spell DC's, -2 to your rolls to bypass enemy Spell Resistance, and doubling the cooldown of your spells.Nice.

After perusing the known issues list, i don't see any mention of Combat Archery, Improved Martial Arts and Dance of Flowers in relation to how they are not applying their +[w] effects to ranged attacks.

Are the bugfix teams aware of these issues? Are they being worked on? Can we get some kind of bandaid for these abilities? For instance, stacking +4 damage to ranged combat from Combat Archery and stacking +2 damage to ranged combat while centered from Improved Martial Arts, and +2/+4/+6 from Dance of Flowers? This would be mildly less than +[w] for standard bows, and much less for higher base damage bows, but would serve as an atleast manageable placeholder.

Warning, personal story: My archer is getting up inlevels, and is rapidly approaching the point where my original plan was to put two level up points into dex (a stat that is almost useless to my character) in order to qualify for Combat Archery, to take both that an Improved Martial Arts as my epic feats. Considering that the fact it doesn't seem to be working (According to a few forum posts) isn't even ackowledged, I'm wondering whether I should take an entirely different tact and build away from Combat Archery entirely! The fact that Improved Martial Arts issues with ranged combat seem to be known by devs (I think?) but not on the known issues list concerns me as well! Now my character has no viable epic feats, outside of stat points, and i don't know whether its worth taking the broken feats and hoping they get fixed in a timely manner, or just avoid them altogether.

And to compound the issue, LRs are entirely broken for tri-class epic characters, plus it carries chances of absolutely runing epic XP, favor, etc... so unfortunately the "Just build for what works, and fix it with an LR later" option also is out the window!

So devs, you can see I'm in a predicament! Any info would be good info!

I've been playing since Feb. 2006 and ranged combat love has always been a MYTH. Seriously, you'd think in all that time they could put a team on it and make it viable. Sadly if it isn't a part of the upcoming PRE revamp update I think it will remain just that. A MYTH!... :eek:

You want justification for nerfs in this game? These devs are far too busy to justify their actions (/sarcasm). Turbine could use a huge lesson in communication from the folks over at WotC. I stopped playing M:tG over 3 years ago, but I still read their daily articles on the game written at least in part by those that make the design decisions. These people aren't afraid to tell their players what's going on and why nerfs (bannings) happen. They use their daily articles not only as a means to peddle their new products but also as a way to inform players and give them an inside look at the design process. Communication Turbine. It's a thing, and it's a good thing.

You're not required to do it as you like to keep reminding us and we're also not required to spend any money on the game as many like to keep reminding you, but if a little communication can lead to happier players, then you might want to consider hiring people with inside info specifically to relay things to the players in a structured manner. Vast and mysterious is getting a bit old and has been for about 5 years now.

Could you please define the Dev version of "working correctly?"

The way that it WAS working was very good, and was making your player base happy. Therefore, it was working well enough for our liking. Why change that?

Are you able to say that this change will be equivalent to how it has been working, or better?

I'm confused on how you were unable to get it to work correctly, but nerfing the hate and extending the time, but otherwise keeping the same exact function DID work. What you're saying is that you were unable to get 1,000% for 12 seconds to work, but you can get 200% for 60 seconds to work. So if that's the case, can you get 500% for 30 seconds? Or maybe 900% for 15 seconds? Better yet, keep the 200% for 60 seconds, but give it +2[W] or +3[W] damage for 60s.

I, for one, sincerely appreciate the response. However, it doesn't make sense.

I'm confused on how you were unable to get it to work correctly, but nerfing the hate and extending the time, but otherwise keeping the same exact function DID work. What you're saying is that you were unable to get 1,000% for 12 seconds to work, but you can get 200% for 60 seconds to work. So if that's the case, can you get 500% for 30 seconds? Or maybe 900% for 15 seconds? Better yet, keep the 200% for 60 seconds, but give it +2[W] or +3[W] damage for 60s.
