View Full Version : Suggestion for refreshing the old content

Create a new difficulty level for all the content that will never be made Epic - Level 20.

I would suggest that only quests that were originally level 14 and below that were never made epic would be eligible.

I've discovered that being able to run the epic content on epic normal actually greatly improves my enjoyment of the game - I'm running old quests for optionals, kills, breakables, and looking forward to opening chests.

Wouldn't it be cool if all the old quests that people only run for favor could be ramped up to level 20? You could run the quests as something more than a zerg, and it would hugely expand where you can get your high level xp. Instead of running Impossible Demands 30 times after cap, you could run Sorrowdusk with a group and enjoy it again!

The possibility of upgraded level 20 versions of end chain rewards is not the point, but I do think the idea of someone running around in L20v Asbestos Booties is hilarious.

I just want to be able to run old stuff for favor and still get some xp out of it. I would suggest that running at Level 20 would give the same favor as Elite, and that you could only run on Level 20 once your character WAS level 20.

Before you ask, No, I'm not asking for new epic loot. I can't think it wouldn't be easy to level 20 the mobs on most of the content. With Epic Normal as a standard, most mobs have a high level alt already. Also, I wouldn't have these quests drop token fragments on end chests, but mobs with CR over 20 should drop them in Treasure Bags.

Thoughts?

Oh lordy, NO! Lars would keel over just forming the idea of trying to say "Sahuagin".

personally, and I know a lot on the forums would disagree with me, I think that quests that drop named loot should be epic, inlcuding Korthos.

Why Korthos? how many level 20's (now 21+) levels go there? not a lot, unless it's catch up from renown or whatever, as rare as those cases may be. Epic Korthos would have a mix of the low level toons and the epic ready toons. If anything, epic korthos would be the epitome of epic, imo, that's where it started...that's ought to be endgame. Full circle.

I'd love to see epic versions of the Korthos quests, with one caveat:

In Misery's Peak, either your group does the job of Celimas and company, helping a group of newbs get to the mindsunder, OR, in the end, when you break the mindsunder, Aussircaex goes batty and you have to drive her off from attacking the town. :D

Brilliant!

This is the most interesting idea I've read on here in a while.

Make it a raid, with 6 high levels and 6 low level characters. Too cool... and probably too hard to code :(

Devs--I CHALLENGE you to make it happen!

Hmmmmm.

You could actually use the TEAM option that no one currently uses in raids. All the lowbies go on team red and the highbies on team blue. Each team has a different job to do and you all meet up at the end.

Not too shabby an idea!

For Misery's Peak use the team option as mentioned. Instead of the NPC's going down the second tunnel that is where the high level characters have to go. Let them fight through to challange the dragon while the low levels fight their way to the crystal. You could have it where certain objectives have to be achieved by both teams close to the same time. For example when the low level team reaches the crystal the high level team needs to be at the bottom to distract the dragon and the mind flayer.

I was thinking it would be great if the old wilderness area's were able to be set to epic. In theory, (i.e., in my mind) it would be as simple as creating a new set of slayer/explorer/rare counters with XP for the epic tab. The tab is already in place, its just greyed out.

It feels a little silly to me to run to the Epic red fens quests on my lvl 23 character through a CR 9 wilderness. Here you are beating up CR 9 Sahuagin, then suddenly you step inside and they are CR 24.

i would prefer they start with highest level packs (pref with raid loot) first then work backward.

epic titan raid/epic abbot...
