I figured out through the net on the workaround to login into forums and live servers by editing the so called host file, but I am missing the info needed to do the same workaround for the lammania server as well. Anyone who can help?

Thx in advance!

PS: This is what I got so far in editing the host file and making forums and live ddo work:
74.201.103.43 www.ddo.com#
74.201.102.42 forums.ddo.com#
74.201.102.11 patch.ddo.com#
74.201.102.13 gls.ddo.com#
74.201.102.13 gls-auth.ddo.com#
74.201.102.11 serviceengine.turbine.com#
74.201.102.43 ddo.com#
74.201.102.16 gls-lm.ddo.com#

The last line has to do with lammania, BUT I am still missing the patch line, and maybe something else...

You're better off just switching to Google's DNS servers, at least for now, than editing your hosts file. They have fast propagation speeds, and everything is fine with their DNS servers with regards to DDO.

They are: 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4

I did ALL sorts of alterations to the Host file. Mine looks like this:

# Copyright (c) 1993-2009 Microsoft Corp.
#
# This is a sample HOSTS file used by Microsoft TCP/IP for Windows.
#
# This file contains the mappings of IP addresses to host names. Each
# entry should be kept on an individual line. The IP address should
# be placed in the first column followed by the corresponding host name.
# The IP address and the host name should be separated by at least one
# space.
#
# Additionally, comments (such as these) may be inserted on individual
# lines or following the machine name denoted by a '#' symbol.
#
# For example:
#
# 102.54.94.97 rhino.acme.com # source server
# 38.25.63.10 x.acme.com # x client host
# localhost name resolution is handled within DNS itself.
# 127.0.0.1 localhost
# ::1 localhost

8.8.8.8

Some of these changes enabled me to access normal server. But I added the last bit and that didnt work for Lam, then I added the 74.201.102.XX Stuff. nope, so I tried moving the 8.8.4.4 etc to the bottom. Still no good. I got it to connect, examine Pro0grams, update Programs, then it Examines and restarts Launcher. Poof, endless loop. Was getting a "An update error occurred: Unable to decrypt or de-serialize the data downloaded from the server" But now thats semi resolved with the endless loop...
How badly is it wrong at this point? What do I HAVE to do to access Lam NOW?
:sigh:
P.S. Also did MUCH flushing of the dns via CMD and yes, did everything under "Admin"

I had the same issue (got the host file bits from ddo wiki...)

Im currently repairing my lam instal after noticing the lam launcher had the live news..(think the host lam patch line is wrong)

I tried all the tricks mentioned but then I realised I was allready using a 3rd party DNS, removed those from my IPv4 properties (backed up :) )and using my ISP defaults and its working.

You do not need to edit your hosts file.

Change your IPv4 or IPv6 settings to googles public DNS: 8.8.8.8 or 8.8.4.4

Followed this also to the "T". All tests work and show success.

Lam Launcher STILL
Connect
Examine Programs
Update Programs (EVERY time downloading the update)
Restarting Launcher
Examine Game: Red "X"
An Update Error Occurred:
Unable to decrypt and de-serialize the date downloaded from the server.
Endless loop if I let it go, and I did MANY times.
Normal Launcher. A bit slow now but its getting me there.

Still no access.
Looking for another solution when I'm able...
If anyone has any suggestions, I'm open for them. Finally pick up the expansion and the day I do, poof! No Lam-land...
Want in on the good stuffs!

Same issue, endless loop, error message, etc. That's without all the workarounds, with them I simply can't connect.

Hey Threefeet, did you by chance JUST buy the expansion? Long shot but I'd like to see if that part is just my own bad luck.

No, bought it about a week after it was available., and been playing around on beta since closed beta was up.
Still looping :/
