Swashbuckler I
Requirement: Weapon Focus: Piercing, Improved Bluff II, Improved Intimidate II
Effect: You become well-versed with both word and rapier, penetrating your foes with both wit and blade. You gain a +2 to attack and damage with all rapiers, and gain a +4 bonus to AC if you are wielding a single rapier. You also distract an enemy to reduce their AC by -2.

Distract:
With a clever word and a successful Bluff, you make your enemy distracted for a brief period of time, lowering their defenses.

Swashbuckler II
Requirement: Not sure yet
Effect: You become further proficient with word and blade, gaining an additional +2 bonus to AC when wielding a single rapier, and an additional +1 to attack and damage with rapiers. You also gain the ability to fend off multiple foes as if you were fighting only one. Distract now reduces enemy AC by -3.

Fend:
You viciously stab at each opponent that you are facing. Functions much like "Cleave", except you add +1 to attack and +1 to damage for each enemy that is fighting you.

Swashbuckler III
Requirement: Not sure yet
Effect: You have become a master of word and blade, your wit is now as sharp as your rapier. When fighting an enemy that has its attention focused on you, you gain your charisma bonus to attack and 1.5x your charisma bonus to your damage. Furthermore, you gain another +2 bonus to AC, and you gain a +1 attack and damage bonus to rapiers. Distract now reduces enemy AC by -4.

Hopefully not too overpowered - bearing in mind this will not work with TWF, THF, or SnB. It's strictly a single rapier in your right hand.

A melee bard?

Preposterous!

I like this idea, but it seems a bit restrictive. Heh, maybe add some more abilities that use your bluff skill for their DC, like a song that distracts multiple nearby enemies, but increases your threat. Call it "Song of Mockery" or something like that.

Oh, and maybe you could make it so that it works with scimitars, light weapons and maybe even longswords, as well? And it would be nice if one could use small sheilds/bucklers as well.

I'm certainly not against the idea...makes for a potentially interesting new archetype.

But....

Don't you just know that Turbine would implement the first two and never the third?

I sincerely doubt Turbine will implement this at all.
