View Full Version : Locksmith Square Petition: Add Stone of Change

So. Items with guild slots and +20HP guild bonus made appearances in multiple builds since they were introduced. However, it always bugged me, that to use those I need to first go to locksmith square in house K to buy augment crystal, then go to marketplace to apply it. As we all know, zoning in DDO multiple times often leads to performance drop.
"Solution" would be to put appropriate crafting device in vicinity of vendors selling augments. It would possibly reduce time spent on "inventory management" or "buffing". this would be handy change to players.

Before posting this thread, I consulted it with guildies - their opinion was that this is a good idea, and as such it will be rejected by Turbine.

for flavor, i propose there be a NPC introduced to locksmith square who takes your item and your crystal and joins the two together. then at least we could do away with the annoyingly slow animation that you get from the stone of change. said npc could also be able to remove a partially used up crystal and replace it with a fresh one, something the stone of change can't do at the moment.

and while you are at it, allow augment crystals to be replaced before they expire too!

Just make slotting a guild augment stackable as long as it's the exact same type. Stuff in 10 of those for 60 hours worth, no more need to walk back and forth daily - regardless of position - at all.

That was great. Sig'd :P.

I /sign this. It's pretty annoying having to run to and from places. Teleport helps, but on melees who can't UMD a scroll it sucks.

The addition of the guild vendors was a great idea for DDO however it has just been implemented very poorly. In a fantasy based game with some role playing to it (D&D) there should always be abiance and story. To just drop a vendor somewhere really has to stop in DDO. All vendors shoukld be surrounded with some kind of theme.

And definitely /signed to having them last longer than six hours. Are we seriously intended to craft two of the same item, so that we can start a raid when one of them is down to 20 minutes and still have the item's effect at the end of the raid?

In the interim, I've found that using the SOC in the Twelve is a useful workaround. Zoning is zoning, but it isn't always zoning zoning.

Good idea.

To the OP, good idea. I'd like to propose to take it a step further.

1. Select your item with guild slot in your focus orb
2. Select your feat "craft" which works much like wizard's "scribe scroll"
3. Choose the augment you'd like to add
4. Augment is added to the item
* Allow stacking of up to 2 same type augments
* Allow rewriting of augments

Phooey on the stone of change. It's a relic that we don't need anymore especially for limited time augments.

For added immersion, make the "craft" feat a favor reward.

I'd like this too, would save having a Stone of Change on my Airship.

I also agree with this idea.

The area has been slowly been altered since the Guild Slots were added, but there hasn't been anything added to the Guild Vendors, such as the empty kiosks in the two northern corners. The area around the NW corner has definitely expanded over the last few updates. I'm hoping something new would be added in these areas. If not, I'd suggest the new "open area" in that NW corner as a nice place to tuck a Stone of Change altar.

Simply because this place is imho far too empty anyway.

The only placing problem is imho that it might collide with the Festivult Jester there.
But since he is high above there, it doesn't need to be an issue.

And next to the "ziggurat" there is plenty of space (almost too much), too ...

/Not Signed, for one reason only.

Stack 100 in your bag. If you need to replace it, just grab the stack out, throw them in, and put the stack back. If you're dealing with less-than-ideal augment sizes (mediums vs larges or other cases) then its your call to buy a fresh one every time.

If you do it the lazy way and buy a stack then you're good for a really long time.

Yes, please!

Some time ago (http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?p=4286539&posted=1#post4286539) I suggested to stack duration this way:

How about this: stacking duration, but at higher cost?

For example:
1 crystal = 6 hours
1+2 crystals = 12 hours
1+2+3 crystals = 18 hours
1+2+3+4 crystals = 24 hours
...
and so on.

Edit:
If less than 6 hours left (eg. 2 hours left) then +2 crystals for additional 6 hours (or +2+3 crystals for 12 hours, etc.).
This way you can always replenish your bonus every 6-11 hours (paying only 2 crystals) and be under constant bonus.
