Do the new chests on hard and elite drop larges?

They are added to stop people from wondering why they should complete elite Shroud instead of just farming part 4 on norm.

Is that seriously your answer?

Anyone with an factual comment on topic know if Large Ingrediants drop in the bonus chests? Its very annoying the bonus chests in Devil Battlefield dont drop anything other than base items per level. If turbine make them standard loot per level i wont see the point doing hard/elite

Bonus chests in Devil Battlefied?

If you mean Weapons Shipment I can assure you that you can get named items from all three of the chests on elite.

Maybe he also means the bonus chest you get in Sins for letting the 2 adventurers go instead of killing them to get the final shrine?

But that has nothing to do with the difficulty level of the quest.

Bump - and I would also like to know how heavily the difficulty is scaled now. I know that there will be blades, but haven't ever seen them pop in phase 5 before - are they a serious threat on elite?

One of the devs has stated that they're supposed to drop larges. Whether or not they actually will drop larges, I don't know. But they're supposed to.

EDIT: Since I imagine someone will ask, see this thread (http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=347942). Technically, Eladrin's response is vague, but I don't imagine him responding with a joke if the answer was no.

This and it would make absolutely no sense to add chests to the end of part 5 that did not have the capacity to drop ingredients. I know there are plenty of things in DDO that make little to no sense, but I think adding chests that were not able to drop ingredients would be too nonsensical.

The Shroud

When completing the Shroud, instead of a generic list of level-appropriate random gear, you will now get a selection of Shroud ingredients, which can include anything from small/medium/large ingredients to power cells, Shards of Power, and more!
Extra chests will appear at the end of phase 5 on higher difficulty settings
One additional chest will appear on hard difficulty
Two additional chests will appear on elite
Arraetrikos went on a diet, and now has fewer hitpoints on hard and elite.
Shavarath blades now hurt more in general, but additionally will now scale with difficulty.
Shavarath blades appear a bit sooner in phase 5

Yup.Tthat's seriously the answer.

I ment the bonus chests for for doing extra tasks in quests like Sin & Bastion

I'm pretty sure those drop other things. At the least, I know you can get small/medium/large Shroud ingredients from the optional chests in Sins (not sure about the chest for not killing the prisoners, but the ones from the side passages can give Shroud ingredients).

And yeah, the release notes don't specify that the new Shroud chests drop large ingredients. What Eladrin said is the best we have, but seems like they're supposed to according to that.

if they dont drop shroud mats those chests really wouldnt be much incentive at all, whoohooo more junk to disjunct or vendor trash......... it has some value but definately not enough to justify running it on a higher difficulty.

The impression I get is that the extra chests are duplicates of the shroud ingredients chests, which basically means an additional chance at mats (or two additional chances on elite).

But I confess I do not know from personal experience.

They are added to stop people from wondering why they should complete elite Shroud instead of just farming part 4 on norm.

The only reason there was to do that was the low drop rate on power shards which has been fixed. Not completing was a silly waste of time.
