would anyone be kind enough to give me the must haves on an artificer spell list?

You can switch them at any shrine / tavern so you have a lot of flexibility to adapt to different contents.

From a very quick cursory glance:

LVL 6:
Deconstruct: with current endgame being rich of cosntruct it's quite usefull
Reconstruc: 10/10 if WF
Tactical detonation: nice nuke with CC added
Blade barrier: the most powerful version of oen of the most powerful aoe, enough said

LVL 5:
Planar and silver weapons will make you lots of friends.
Prismatic spray: assuming full force spec decent nuke
Mass remove curse: situational but potentially very usefull vs cursing bosses
Radiant forcefield: situational and tbh i've never tested for real, it seems to have potential

LVL 4:
Lightning motes: average AoE and it requires you to be lightning spec'ed (probably not the best idea)
Cold iron wepaons: usefull but you can switch when needed

LVL 3:
Admantine weapons: your Lit 2 friends will approve for the 2 new raids :)
Flame turret: quite good at low lvls, it becomes obsolete by lvl 14 or so.
Insightful damage: if you are full INT this can boost your ranged dmg quite a bit

LVL 1:
Resist energy is always good

Level 1:
Conjure Bolts +1 .. having no ammo really hurts your dps :) With this, you don't run out.

Level 2:
Elemental weapons .. adding 1d6 elemental damage to your groups weapons is a nice boost in dps.
Toughen construct .. gives your dog, and any wf in your group +5 ac (does not stack with barkskin)

Level 3:
Curative Admixture Cure Serious .. throwing a pot for an aoe heal of 60-140 (depending on metamagics, maximize etc .. and people's heal amp)
Thundering Armor .. giving everyone a sonic guard on their armor is a nice dps boost.
Armor of Speed .. or give them 5 minute haste when you have no caster in your group.

Aside: is the artificer BB different from the one that clerics get? Can't find anything on this in the wiki. Thanks.

Artificers have an enhancments line to boost force and untyped damage
Force Manipulation VII (http://ddowiki.com/page/%E2%80%A6): Grants an additional 5% increase to the damage of your force spells and spells that deal untyped or physical damage, bringing the total increase to 50%.

EDIT: link doesn't work but it's just the usual progression 20% for first tier then 5%/tier up to 50% with 7th tier; http://ddowiki.com/page/Artificer_enhancements here for complete list

Use lightning motes for the 1.15x lightning damage buff and not just the AoE.
