View Full Version : Rogue 19/1 or 18/2 with fighter splash a thing of the past?

I've come back to DDO after an 8 month break or so and I'm seeing a lot more pure rogue builds. There used to be a good mix of pure rogues and rogues splashing 1-2 levels of ranger or fighter, but I'm not seeing these builds anymore.

Is splashing a thing of the past with rogues now? If so, what has changed in the game mechanics to cause this?

A new capstone (offering +4D6 SA damage) has happened:

Deadly Shadow is awesome. Good advice. +1.

Agreed... the 4d6 of the capstone is generally more valuable than a single or two level splash except in specific situations.

Currently my favorite rogue is 19rog/1mnk.

It's all a matter of preference and playstyle. You may not need the two feats if you do:

TWFx3
PA
IC: slash
Exotic Khopesh
toughness

But I prefer:

TWFx3
PA
toughness
PL: sneak of shadows
PL: soldier of the faith
sap

I think with the monk splash, good wraps, TOD rings, boxing gloves, faster striking, more vorpals you get just almost about as much dps as a pure rogue swinging Khopeshes, but leaves you with two more feats to play with. the question is, will you use those two feats for something awesome?

..and it's cooler to kill things with your bare hands.
