Hey I'm not very certain about which kind of mace I should use the light or heavy ones. Would "bigger the better" apply? or perhaps do light maces give some kind of help a heavy cannot?

Light maces give less of a to-hit penalty when dual-wielded with heavy weapons on a character without Oversized Two Weapon Fighting. And they're applicable to Weapon Finesse. That's all.

Heavy Mace:
Simple Weapon Proficiency
Base Damage Rating: 4.73
Damage: (1-8) 1d8 + 0 Bludgeon
Critical Roll: (5%/2-16) 20 / x2
Attack Mod: Strength (+2)
Damage Mod: Strength (+2)

Light Mace:
Simple Weapon Proficiency
Base Damage Rating: 3.68
Damage: (1-6) 1d6 + 0 Bludgeon
Critical Roll: (5%/2-12) 20 / x2
Attack Mod: Strength (+2)
Damage Mod: Strength (+2)

So you're talking about 2 more possible base damage per swing.
Plus the light mace is considered a "light" weapon, meaning you take less of a penalty when 2 wielding one without having to spend a feat.
