Add Mimics as a random monster encounter in this game. The mimic difficulty is based on dungeon level.

I get tired of people opening up chests.

It would be funny to see a person swallowed alive for a change.

Detecting a mimic would require spot skill.

Being swallowed by a mimic would be just like being disolved by a cube.

No line of sight so you can't heal your party mate.

Casting group heal would heal your party mate inside the chest but it would heal the mimic as well.

Using weapons on the chest there is a chance of hitting your party mate.

It would be fun to find unique solutions to getting your party mate out of that chest alive before he becomes digested and dies.

Ofcourse death and resurection are always an options :D

Like the idea

Last run through The Snitch we discussed why there were no mimics; the subect came up after killing Crateos.

that is a mimic. but yes mimics would be good, such as in the tower battle at the end when you face the captain, and the orge magi. all those empty chests could be mimics placed by the pirates.

Yes! First time thru redwillow's, i thought that useless chest WAS a mimick at first.

I think it'd add more classic DnD flavor (need SOMETHING to water down this cyberpunk garbage Eberron has injected).
