with the new nerf coming, i am going to TR my light monk (i know bad timing but guild is doing a mass TR so why not?). She should be able to get a 43 stun fist DC without +4 wiz tome or yugo favor. (in wind stance)...any thoughts? what do you think?

anyone any thoughts?

nah all looks pretty good. a nice TR balanced monk build. Not too much to quibble over.

I am curious about your choice to take eagle claw attack. -4 ac is nice on a build that doesn't go heavy dex for finesse or str but with the same DC as QP is it going to help all that much to be worth it? not to mention with the ki generation issues that will be more untouched hotbar space?

or were you just trying to fill AP spent prereqs ?

a guildy of mine said he used it first when hitting things and i tried it out and like it, gives a nice balance to hit monsters first to allow others to hit easier....and it only costs 1 ap.

OP - did you put all level up stats in Wisdom, that is my guess?

Any update on this at all after you have had some time?

I have a younger player I am trying to help with his Dwarf monk that is gimp and was looking at this build as a base for a LR. He has 32 point builds unlocked and access to a +2 Dex, Con, and Str tome, what would you change for that limitation?

Thanks for the post, this looks good to me for the latest changes in U9.

You'll probably have some problems with hitting bosses on epic.
I'd say primary stat to-hit should be 34 (or even 36) +

Only advise I can give goes for any female-dwarf toons. For the love of all that's holy please don't put them in a wh0re outfit.

this all looks good to me. I am looking for a plan for my first life as a monk - 32 point build. I have the +2 tomes you need so I would need to figure how to do this w/o the +3 and +4 tomes. Any thoughts?

could always lower dex by one pt and switch around some lvl up pts to make this work. also the action points into constitution can help as well. Don't know the gear you have so that is what i can say to start with.

Tried to implement this last night and had several issues. I think the fact that he was using a lesser heart to relevel rather than TR threw a major wrench in the process. I told him to use the char builder before he started to verify his path, but kids will be kids. i do not want to sound like I am disparaging your build, but I wanted to post this so anyone else thinking about using this in a non-tr situation does their homework first.

The issues he had were:

1)He could not figure out where level up stats went (i was not sure either as most stats increase considerably from base to 20 and you have to figure out if this is from tomes and action points or level up - i do not know monks stat increase from ap) so I had him put all 5 in wisdom.

2) he did not really know what to replace the 3rd lvl past life feat with, almost all the other feats cannot be taken at 3rd lvl and/or require tomes to be eaten (again can't do these at 3rd lvl) I think he took wf bludgen.

3) some enhancements cannot be taken without the use of +3 and +4 tomes

I am not sure how he ended up, but he felt he was better off than he was before. He plans to finish this toon off to lvl 20 (it is 19th) and then we will tr into this build. The only problem there is the +3 and +4 tome. Can you suggest how you would change this build if you do not have any +3 or +4 tomes available?
