View Full Version : advice for next wiz build

im thinking about a wiz build that doesnt rely on doing conventional damage but 1 that focuses on kill spells

hopefully meaning I wont have to go down the boring route of spending loads of feats and enhancements on all the buffs to damage & crits etc,.

the spells id want to rely on are

main spell choice

phan killer - illusion - will , then fort
dismissal / banishment - abjuration - will
circle of death - necro - fort
finger of death - necro - fort
symbol death - necro - fort
disintergrate ? - trans - fort
power word kill - enchant - no save
wail of banshee - necro - fort

supporting spells

feeblemind - enchant - will
mind fog - enchant - will
enervation/ energy drain - necro - no save ?
prismatic spray - evo - depends

i know this means i wouldnt be that effective at corud control, and I might not be able to bring much dmg to a boss
but im ok with that
im not against using normal dmg spells as well

i just wanna try something different, also how do i increase the DC of the above spells when theyre all from diff spheres of magic

has anyoner tried this ? does it work ? is it any fun ? have u got any advice ?

That's called a Pale Master. You can for instance check the Necromancer build in this thread (http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=232660).
There's no reason not to spend a few APs on elemental damage enhancement, and bring the most important damage spells with you.
