View Full Version : Expanded PREs - like Arcane Archer

I'd like to see more of the PREs accessible cross-class provided someone met the requirements.

The cost needs to be reasonably high, but for instance I'd love to have the option of creating a true "Stormsinger" where the bard could take the elemental savant for elec/sonic to boost Soundburst/Gust of wind.

I'd love to see an option for divine casters to grab the fire savant.

Both of these would need to be at a relatively significant cost. This may include requiring a multiclass dip for the first level of elemental enhancement and would be at a reduced progression/speed.

REFERENTIAL EXAMPLE FOLLOWS ... numbers are for relative placement; don't think they are a set-in-stone assumption of the value I think is correct. I'm more suggesting the concept.

Elemental Savant 1
Requires: All of (whatever element boosting enhancement 1 or other PRE requirements)
Requires: One of Sorc level 3, Character level 4

Elemental Savant 2
Requires: All of (savant 1 in that element)
Requires: One of Sorc level 6, character level 8

That progression may mean a non-sorc can't get the full line - that's fine. Even a few steps of it would be fun though.

Possibly allow past life feats to work as well (like they do for AA, or well partially work (no sp bar)). This would be a good way to increase multiclass build popularity again; I like this suggestion *makes a drunken pale master dwarven barb.*

Yep. What I'd really like to see, essentially:

A way for divines to boost their fire output, though clearly not as strong as a sorc or wizard it would be fun.
A way for divines to boost their "storm" output, though clearly not as strong as a pure sorc.
A way for half-elves to boost their dragonmarks, though clearly not as strong as a sorc (ie, like Halfling DMs)
etc.

Alot of players do not like trring. I personally do not want to see any more benefits to trs then there already is. I would like to see more added to the end game. The Op suggestion is fine I just hate past lifes and relevelling which is kind of a boring grind in my opinion.

Eh, a Tukaw build is mostly sorc, so definitely can take the PRE.

The reason Arcane Archer crosses is because it is a Elven Racial and a Ranger Class PrC in pen and paper. Dwarven Defender and Fighter Stalwart Defender is another that is like this.

I see this as the reason to implement them in game. Not sure what Racial PrC would be the Pen and Paper backing to allow Elemental Savants to cross classes. Show me one and I'll /sign but until then /not sign.

Make a bard/sorc 14/6, its a sorc pre. For divines theres angel of vengeance pre coming for boosting your damage.

On another note : i really do want all racial pre:s and fast. Those would allow unique build opportunities (like elven AA curently does).

3.5 PRCs do not have class-based requirements (well, there are a few exceptions). It has nothing to do with racial or not. Their requirements are all feat, ability, etc. based.

I'm asking that DDO conform more to this model.
