View Full Version : Beyond Founders

As I was looking over the new Event and I was admiring the all the fancy Pirate Hats, I noticed that Founders get a nice +1 to their tier, as they should. It had me thinking about 2 possible suggestions:

1) Now that DDO:Stormreach is gone and DDO:Eberron replaced it, should there be a recognition of players who were Founders with the beginning of DDO: Eberron? I believe so. Especially for players who stuck with the game in the 'lean' times immediately prior to p2p, they were essentially keeping the game on life support. Although some immediate recognition was given with some TPs, I think granting this status is deserved and really costs nothing.

2) It would be nice if DDO acknowledged long time players with a status when they have been with the game for a long period (in excess of a year or 2 at least). Call it a loyalty program. Give the account a "Pillar of the Community" designation. In my mind, this would be a VIP perk as you are paying - it costs nothing to maintain your f2p account.

A program such as this would give Turbine great pathways to offering special discounts or deals as many retailers do now in other industries. It might also provide enough perk to have players make that jump to VIP.

Overall, I think Turbine should acknowledge players who have been here for long periods, yet may not be Founders. I think it would give players the warm and fuzzy and potentially could be good for Turbine as well.

I believe you needed to be a beta/pre-order account. So, you'd be looking at Jan/Feb '06.

Oh, and as an '06 player, /signed
