Title says it all. +2 tomes are so 2008.

The entire Favor system should be reworked. Favor rewards should be things that can not be purchased in the Turbine store, and every patron should give SOMETHING worth working toward. Favor right now is kind of a joke.

That's a nice idea. Though I'd prefer it be a +X tome for every X-thousand favor.

3,000 favor should get you something, at the very least. Most people don't bother going that far. It's REALLY hard to get, actually. I worked my butt off getting to 2,500 to unlock FvS.

And a tome that will bounce back to pack after each TR? Seems reasonable to me, can be a reward per character, Unbound or bound to account please, Retroactive obviously so my 3200 renown character can grab 3 tomes as soon as it is implemented? Seems a fine way to reward long time players.

It would certainly be a good incentive to try for 3k favor.

Lets throw in a TR heart too.

Although I suspect that it'll never happen, I support this idea because I'd really benefit +3 str tome once the airship gets the +2 str shrine...and that's right around the corner.

And 50 TP every 100 renown instead of 25!

And 50 TP every 100 renown instead of 25!

How about zero TP for every 100 renown?

How would they even implement that? Give 50 TP to every guild member? Even if you have multiple characters, get 50 TP each one?

That's one of your dumbest non-pvp suggestions.

And when did they start giving 25 TP for every 100 Renown.

Since they introduced DDO Store perhaps?

Then where is my 25 TP for each 100 Renown my guild has earned?

I want Barnes & Noble gift cards! Or ice cream (Ben & Jerry's preferably).

Favor and renown are not the same thing.

I do agree with grodon9999, but i think Whargoul's idea is even better - /signed.

I was thinking since 1750 already is a +2 Tome, then double that favor:
3500 = +4 Tome

DDO makes out: via more money from turbine store bought TR's x6 and favor grind to get a set of +4's.

Current Max Favor in game is 3623, so all but a few quests would have to be done on elite. Turbine gets the quests they made to actually be played that are usually skipped.

Grind? Yes, but people would do it for the tomes...

look, I know it's h4x0r1f1c, and he might actually be serious... But it looks to me to be more of a case of a typo... renown =/= favor, but he might have just oopsed... (granted, he might have been looking for more Drammaa... But) (oh, and I now need to wash my brain out for defending him...)

I'd sign that but then I'd look like I just wanted a dozen tomes handed to me now. :p Yet, if only +3's I would not know where I'd put more +3 tomes ... some are sitting in banks as is.

When 1750 favor came out +2 tomes were rare and hard to come by... most people ran every single alt up to 1750 at the very least... and many of us favour capped our characters constantly. Even before the favor system was introduced I ran every character thru every quest elite just to say to myself - "I played all of DDO, and as every class/character."

I still chase favour but of course not like I used to - most mine are over 3k favor as is (3086 was the old pre-EU favour cap).

The fact that is little incentive with all the TR grinds, loot grinds and crafting grinds is counter productive with favour. Add in guild renown and the other I mention and you realize how watered down and eroded any perks to high favor are, even with the TP rewards in place - all that does is encourages people to run up 100 then delete, reroll and run 100 again... then look at the house favor mark perks - you can get better just by logging in and joining a well-renown guild.

Favour used to account for least something in this game ... house P buffs, Silver flame pots, house D armoury all were perks at one time but are now undermined and antiquated, the store and guild renown killed favour... Coin lord finishing school was a nice gesture yet when one considers could have TR'd or farmed x even the nice little feat for 400 seems falls short to me.

Then is total favor 1000 = vet status (who uses that? get to 20 then TR), 1750 = +2 tome (an extremeley easy loot drop or bought at store) and 2500 = FvS (again TP gets you it) then beyond yields nothing. So again I run every character thru every quest elite just to say to myself - "I played all of DDO, and as every class/character."

Sad thing is, had Turbine wished to place some incentive behind playing all it's content entirely adjusting the favour system would be the place to start.

Instead they wish to bore us with grinds for xp and crafting drive us crazy with highest incentives focus'd in few areas within the game. Narrows variety as we all run the same handfuls of quests over and over... Shall they wish to sell more content? They could place some reason for buying it - house and total favour perks could be a good reason again, currently they are not.

Just to chip in with some thoughts of the future...I think 5000 favor should give a +5-tome:)
