View Full Version : Remove Guild Augment Slots.

Guild Augment slots are fair in no way for anyone. Even if what you can put in them is bad as best, it's just annoying.

I think you need to remove them, and replace them with just 'augment slots'. With this, I would also like to add that you include some gem crafting, where you can craft gems with the stone of change, and maybe get essences our of them to augment your items. Maybe also allow us to deconstruct normal items and get their properties from them, as previously suggested many times.

Furthermore, there should be a way to add and/or improve an augment slot to/on an item.

Do not make these overpowered. Do not make this take TP to use in any way(unless your just purchasing access to be able to use the crafting system, of course it would be free to VIP).

Also, take a lesson from Diablo II, and add no further restrictions to an item with an augment slot(or socket via Diablo II), until you put something into the slot. You can make the different properties you add to an augment slot add to the ml of the item. Allow only the smallest augment slot for a ml20 item, or one step higher for ml18, etc. And of course, let us destroy the items in the augment slots to add a new one.

Also, green steel deconstruction.

Get my drift? :)

Keep in mind, this is just a suggestion, which was only very minorly planned out(1 min of thinking). Please give your thoughts and suggestions. Any input is appreciated.

I really like where you're going with this. And I agree....the guild augments are poor and to even get a good one you need a guild of 20000 people running quests 24/7 until you hit that magic guild level 75....and even then time spent versus reward isn't that great.

Personally, the guild augments is just that little touch for min/maxing. I think the whole point of bringing them in is to promote the whole guild level thing, otherwise by removing guild requirements, like you said, it would just be augment slots, which probably isn't what they had in mind.

I think if they wanted to have socket-able items, it would take away from the whole "joining a high level guild and get benefits!" kind of promotion. Not that I care about that.

The Diablo style socketing system is really good as you can customise your equipment to your liking, while not being totally overpowered. Also, the level restriction is really silly, as they should just have a blank augment slot and limit the level based on the augments ML itself.

So yes, they kinda messed that idea up. But by removing the guild requirement, they are kinda stepping on their own shoes with the whole guild-themed idea. Even though it was kind of a flop (IMO :P)

Yes, that would be good and has been suggested before.

Note that they can still give high-ranking guilds a benefit tied to augment-slot items, by creating some vendors of better/cheaper augment crystals who only sell to guild members of X level. But anyone should be allowed to put something in those slots without being guilded; it just makes no sense to exclude people from that system for such an arbitrary reason.

Additional note: they really need to change the name of items which include augment slots! If someone does want to buy them he's got to mouseover every item to read it.

I do not really understand guild items after all even the higher level augments are junk. It is just a way to restrict the availability of items in game. Like I am going to spend plat on an upgrade of an item for 6 hours and all the upgrades are junky upgrades. If they want this system they should make meaningful upgrades or just trash the system which is probably not a bad idea under the circumstances.

I managed to loot a ML 1 medium guild augment slot something or other recently so I though I'd take a look at the list of choices and tbh I was very disappointed. None of the effects even came close to what you can get on very low gear anyway.

Am I missing something? I know the ML 1 looks good but they are very quickly replaced in a couple of lvls with better gear and ofc that's assuming you have the guild lvl to use it in the first place.

Not impressed...

Make guild augment slots permanent or remove them completely.
Too much trouble to renew crappy +1skill boost.

Bad idea, poor implementation. They didn't even do something like add an icon to an item so you know it has a slot on it without having to read over every little piece of garbage you loot.

I disagree with the OP. How much to people go through to get a few more hp in this game? Grind epics change to get better gear and free up slots, grind for tomes, grind to 20th completions in raids hoping for +x con tome, etc.

Yeah, maybe there are some useless slots for your character, but stacking hp is probably not one of them. Will they be used at cap? Unlikely. I feel they are usefull leveling up and see it as another benefit to being in a guild.

Being in a guild is supposed to be a benefit. If you think they are a waste, but complain that you can't use them as you are unguilded, that's a pretty empty argument.

Why some bonuses are in certain parts of the gear?
As far as I tested, intimidate can only be put in some places, same as the +to hit (weapon) etc etc
Should be more interesting if all the possible add-ons can be placed in whatever the equipment is. If you get a large guild augment, in for example, googles, put whatever you want on them (+to hit if you are a barbarian etc).

I dont mind the 6 hour timing, but, it is really annoying "oh, i got a small guild slot ... let's see what i can put on it ... nothing useful for me".
