Hello,
I was planning to TRing my rogue somewhere in the near future and thought i might try out something a little different in the process.

With u5 coming i thought maybe a wizard with rogue mechanic might be an interesting and not completely useless setup, since my experience with casters is rather limited i thought i'd post before ruining my main character. :)

Now my questions are:
Would it be beneficial to get rid of the fighter level, which would cost me insightful reflexes?
With the spell penetration feat and enhancements i would have an effective caster level of 18, how many spells would be resisted then?

I will have few sp but i'm planning on using the repeater quite often, thus conserving sp compared to a wizard that solely relies on spells for damage.

Lets put it this way... end game mobs can often have an SR of 25+, end game raid bosses usually have SR of 32+

If you really want to put that repeater to use I'd suggest having your primary class either be fighter or ranger. You will want a fairly high BAB to be able to hit things reliably. Fighter gives you the option of Kensei and weapon specialization on the repeater giving it better damage all around. Ranger gives the favored enemies, and a reasonable TWF for when you aren't using the repeater.

Also Augment Summoning REQUIRES the feat of Spell Focus Conjuration.

Ah so i'd get around 60% hits on normal, resistant mobs.
That was about what i was hoping for.

The reason i did not take fighter or ranger is that i wanted some synergy with the int stat, which is only provided by wizards.
If i have trouble hitting i can always cast a tensers transformation or use a divine power clicky, am used to casting the latter now before tougher fights and its not too much of a hassle imo.

As to augment summoning having some requirements that is not true, i rolled a sorc on lamannia and took it at first feat.

Thank you for answering though. :)

working on something similar i have a halfling gonna end up 14 wiz 6 rogue for mechanic and extra intell damage added to repeater. dont know how it will all hash out only 6 lvl at the moment but seems to be a nice build concept.
my advice get a shattermantle repeater of sorts for them nasty sr..maybe improved shattermantle
