I've discovered that I can't post this on a more relevant board (as I have not yet spent any money on this game, having only just started playing about 3 or 4 days ago) - so it will have to go here, I guess.

After playing my horribly mangled rogue (no con, 10 str 20 dex 16 int starter stats, euch), I'd like to think that I've improved when it comes to building characters. I also happen to have fallen in love with the concept of a wee man spinning about with axes, chopping all that come in to range. As such, I thought up the following build:

Is there anything that might be improved upon? Is this going to be a colossal waste of time to level up?

I'm also wondering if maybe I should've only taken 16 points in strength instead of 18, so that I could get 14 wisdom for 3 more to will saves.

Pretty common build, similar to the exploiter build, just with fighter instead of monk.

These are pretty resiliant characters that do well in many situations, you should have fun with it. The only thing I might suggest is to find a different feat at 18, Iron will is nice but things like Maximize Spell (for healing spells) or another toughness feat are better choices IMO.

You are fine. With a +6 item (easily available by L14) you will be able to cast all spells. You might have some issue at low level.

If you haven't already, check out the "exploiter" build. It is the king of 18ranger/2x builds.

Looks like you forgot UMD but besides that yes, it should work. Personally I would recommend a bit more Wis for a new player (starting with 17 Str instead), for better will saves and making it easier to cast spells, but such a min/max version works too.

It is a great build.
Take rogue at level one.

Exploiter is a great build, but not very new player friendly. Just sayin'
