Been rolling on my rog18/barb2 build at around level 10 and have GS khopesh blanks banked for him. Just cant seem to decide whether to make them Mineral II or Radiance II. Any vets able to help me out with opinions on which would be better for him. I would love to make 2 pairs had I time and energy but frankly - I dont. :(

The plan is to go acrobat on the way and then switch to assassin III in the end.

Rapiers would be more optimal for radiance II due to the crit range but then again I really like the x3 crit multiplier on the Khopesh. ATM I'm kind of leaning towards the Min II so I could save a feat and not worry about damage reductions and hope that someone else stuns or blinds the mobs for me to finish. ;)

Having dual radII khopeshes with assassinIII i think its a no brainer radII is ideal for a rogue. I know MinII people are gonna say how do you beat down bosses etc. So go get yourself some metaline khopeshes from AH and be done with it, or go minII and pic go pick yourself up some RadII from the auction house;)

RADII FTW!!

Radiance will make you better against trash, while Mineral II will give you more boss-DPS.

In my opinion Mineral II wins, if you have to choose one of them, because quests usually dont win-or-fail due to how good the DPS on trashmobs is, but how much DPS can be dealt to the boss. (especially in raids, and even more so).

I went radiance on my rogue. I have two +5 metalline of pg for boss fights. There's a lot more to the game than the 2 or 3 end bosses who need metalline/pg to bypass damage reduction.

While this does apply to traps(There are many more mobs in quests than traps) It does not Follow for (There are many more trash mobs than raid bosses)

Raid bosses are the ONLY way to complete raids. Metalline PG Kopeshes are absolutely fine, don't get me wrong, and if the OP can afford them then don't bother with Mineral II weapons, and go straight RadianceII. When i GR my Rogue into a Useful rogue(no joke, hes terrible now) I'll switch him to Halfling with Kopeshes and probably make a Him four Kopeshes, One Lightning Strike, one MinII and two Radiance II.

Yep, agreed.

Ideally, you'd want to get twin radiance *and* twin minerals. But the grind for that makes me want to gouge my eyes out with a spoon. So if it were one or the other? I'd go for radiance.

If you only use minIIs for bosses, there are other weapons out there to bypass the DR (namely metalline of pure good).

But for 99% of trash, no other weapon will replicate a radiance II's blind (giving you 50% displacement + auto-crits) except maybe an epic sirocco (not sure if it has a save or not, but I don't think it does).

As one who is also a cheapo when it comes to shroud crafting here's my logic:

You can always trade/sell large ingredients for a met/pg weapon. That'll be much cheaper than building one min2. You'll now have a perfectly capable boss beater or two, along with your radiance2. If you go with Min2 then you might have a better boss beater, but what else? Nothing that'll come close to the rad2, that's for sure. You can excel at a broader spectrum of encounters with less grind if you go with rad2 and acquire met/pg thru the AH or trade.

btw - op, if you have gs khopeshes, then scimitars would be your other consideration, not rapiers. Same crit range as a rapier, but it's a slashing weapon. Goes better if you're already specced for khopeshes (which is also a slashing weapon).

I couldn't afford two sets, so I went with one of each.

A bit more DPS against bosses, plenty of blinding goodness for trash.

Go with dual min II and get radiance guard on DT armor. That's what I did and the guard goes off all the time.

Rad II is lots of fun, and great for solo. There's nothing else really like it.
Mineral II is useful, all-round and maybe more a of an optimized choice.

So if you have to choose: fun or useful? The sexy one or the the one with the good job? ;)

I'd go Rad II Scimmy or Rapier (depending on Race/other weapons etc) Scimmy's and Rapiers have a bigger Crit Range... you'll Crit more often.

One other consideration is if you are one who is not inclined to grind the shroud a lot (or any other other raid), then you will have even less need for the Min2, since that is where it is most useful. You will see more use from a rad2 weapon if that is the case.

Radiance Guard, Min II or Lightning II for bosses(Lightning for Norm, Mineral for Hard/Elite/Epic)
