1. make oil/cure crital pots that can be bought/sold at venders .after all there are wands of this type . not every body can use them , but anyone can buy them, and not everyone has TP's all the time.

while your at that how about some vender mana pots? I mean come on they are a droped item make them for sale at vender locations, for the same reason as above not everyone has TP's to spend on tjem.

off subject topic

make wands stack in inventory, or make a bag/case to hold mulitple wands in.

in my opinum these small changes would go a LONG way twords making players "feel" better about the complete lack of new races/classes/prestige classes so far.

Mana pots will NEVER be sold at vendors, it's pretty obvious why. If you don't have tps, I don't feel bad for you. There are plenty of ways to get them. I'm confident that adding mana pots to the stores will NOT make the majority of players "feel" better. Absurd

Lmao, I apologize if you felt my first post was full of "hate". It is still an absurd suggestion. TP's can be earned in game for free....unlimited in fact if you put in the work. As for your main point, tell me which vendor is selling Cure Critical wands.

Er...I count 3 ways to get TP. Favor, Point Bundles and VIP stipend. Well, Offer Wall. >.>
I wouldn't call that "lots" but that's beside the point (I'm probably overlooking something anyways)

You pretty much answered your own question. If Turbine can force you to spend TP (and thus money, from your perspective), why wouldn't they? As long as it isn't anything "essential" to the game, they don't lose much. People will complain, but I doubt people will leave the game because the potions they want aren't sold by vendors.

If you have more time than money, then go for the one way to get TP that doesn't start with money (or fraud/malware).

"Never", eh?

I take it you didn't know that they were once sold at a vendor then? ;)

Where do they sell Cure Crit wands?

They don't, only repair crit (in the twelve).

Good, though I missed something...makes no damn sense not to sell them though since Serious wands were loosing their ability to keep up before the 14 cap.

there isnt any vender selling them curently my sugestion is to make the avalible. there scrolls and wands of cure/repair crit damage but no pots.
these would be much better fir lets say a lvl 18 WF Barb doing some battle ground slayers.
and I relise you can get tp's free in game but there are times when you need mana and cant get it from the store most if not all players stock up on healing pots before a dungeon so why now mana? I'm not sugestion any where full mana per pot more like a lesser mana pot <probably a costly item but you can buy them at AH but that only makes the plat farmers more plat that they sell for real cash and cause game unballance>

Fair enough, though I've played since the beginning and I don't recall it. We aren't traveling in the past though, they will not be sold at vendors in the future assuming of course there is one tiny ounce of intelligence remaining at Turbine. A big if , I know lol.

Scrolls and Wands have UMD checks (for some classes), so are more situational/require effort to use. Pots are available to everyone. It's more logical the less accessible healing is sold by vendors while Pots are not. Again, profit driven analysis.

I believe Silver Flame favor will unlock some pretty potent Healing Pots, so you can always pursue that if you want pots for your Barb. Yes, it will cost you money (as a F2P cannot achieve that much SF favor), but it looks like you've already spent money on the game, so...

If you have enough TP and you need mana, what's stopping you from buying Mnemonics from the store?

On the topic of imbalance, consider the effects of actually selling Mnemonics. Essentially, it means that my Wizard's blue-bar measures nothing except the time before I get annoyed and have to drink pots. Is this not a reflection of imbalance? Semi-faulty logic, I know, since the same applies for your HP bar. But 0 HP means your dead, while 0 SP simply means you're "useless" for the duration of the encounter.

At any rate, I'm pretty sure it's all profit motivated. A lot of people will pay for conveniences, rather then spend the time to get it the hard way.

I have mixed feeling on Mana pots, but just to derail this thread a little. We have had many discussions in Vent about how it would be cool if wizards (not Sorcs) had the ability to craft scrolls and potions of their actual casting level (even pots & scrolls that don’t exist in the game right now). It would really add a new dynamic to the game along with increasing their usefulness. I know some people prefer wizards over Sorcs, but I think most would agree that in their current form then are less useful due to their lower SPs.

Adding the ability for Wizards to actually craft Scrolls & Potions of their casting levels would really change the way the class is viewed and played. Maybe make it a PrE for Wizards. Now obviously, if not limited, it could make the class very overpowered, but if there was some kind of real life time period associated with their creation I think it could be manageable. For instance, once the item crafting began it would “simmer” for 5 minutes of real world time per caster level and you could only do 1 item at a time. That would mean that making an lvl 20 item would literally take 1.6 hours, so you couldn’t make a ton of them. Making a stack of 100 would literally take weeks of work. (Just to be clear, players could be actively questing while the item was “simmering”)

I think this concept can also be rolled over to Clerics (not FvSs) for heal pots or scrolls. Especially for clerics, I think they should be able to sell these potions to none healer types. This would be a good way for clerics to recoup the expense of healing. Whether the Wizards can sell them I am on the fence about. I think they should be able too, but the DDO economy is a little linear. This could not work out so well.

Got news for you... I'd rarely ever craft a level 20 item unless they made some really nice crafted only recipes for decent gear. I'd probably be cranking out stuff like wands of Dimension Door 7th , Frost Lance 11th, Fire Shield 10th, Displacement 10th, Jump 9th, Rod of Reconstruct 15th... you get the idea. (And yes, we really should have Rods in game. They are what spell casters put spells of higher than 4th level into.)

And I don't know about you but a few of those would be mighty popular items that I could probably get a pretty good price for on the AH.

There likely will not be mana pots at the vendor ever again, but not for the reasons one might expect. Certainly not because it would break the game... they've already crossed that line by selling (better!) mana pots in the store.

I think the reason you won't ever see mana pots at the vendor (again) is because mana pots are a big moneymaker for the store.

I know this is not PnP but I think that the reason we do not have the cure/repair critical pots is because potions can only be made from 3rd level or less spells, thus the 4th level 'critical' spells are not available.

As for mnemonics being sold at a vendor, considering how much in game money is available (i.e. unlimited) every caster would have a never ending supply of spell points causing a major issue with dungeon balancing.

I think the easy counter to this (which is implicit in your "this is not PnP" preface) is that in PnP, you're not told to reroll when your caster has less than 400 HP :)

But there may be a better solution than to offer cure crit potions. For example, our HP is obviously scaled up as compared to PnP... so there's really no reason our potions shouldn't be scaled up accordingly.

So for example (without looking up any numbers, just an example to illustrate the point): say in PnP the median sorc has 100 HP and in DDO the median sorc has 300. So in PnP, say cure serious does 3d6+1... have it do 9d6+3 in DDO.
