Just had a random thought that I think would make sense to anyone who's ever read an RA Salvatore novel. Just like how we have Power attack enhancements for Barbs and WF that let them increase damage for an additional loss to-hit, why not have something similar with Combat expertise that would allow for more AC at a greater to-hit penalty.

Not sure about what class/race would get it, just throwing it out there. Every D&D campaign i played had extensive house-rules on parrying, defensive play, etc . . . This is lacking in DDO.

I'm pretty sure that is what tempest shield bonuses are suppose to represent, and without the penalty to hit for that matter.

Other than that, I suppose you could add a line of enhancements that extend the combat expertise feat for fighters.

I think in general having more enhancements lines available to people who take certain feats would be a good idea. It would expand a lot of potential options and make feats more competitive.
