Gomosh hit level 15 but I am finding that most people don't most to LFM and are grouping with just their few friends. I think it's a huge waste of time to get flagged, as not everyone wants to do those quests at the same time. I am sick of Giant Hold and the Desert. My only real place to quest is the Vale and still trying to get flagged for it. It most MMO's you hit up against the wall. Turbine has it backwards and is mainly making content for new players. Most MMO's like WOW and EQ1 focus on end game content and know I know why. I feel as a loyal VIP player that I am getting the short end of the stick and the new F2P players are getting the VIP treatment. At least they could hurry up on the Half-Orc to hold me for a while. Just having the DDO blues I guess.

Have you been to the Orchard at all? Run those quests 3-4 times each and you'll have loads of quick XP. Not to mention the slayer zone, or running Litany.

You are running into the same issues we have had for awhile. The vale stuff is pretty easy. Just stick lfms up for those quests. You shouldnt have a problem getting them done. Alot of people still run them to get the pie pieces to craft. Then move on to reavers refuge and amarath.

not because I give a flying monkey about end game, because I really don't. However, I have noticed that once you hit L10, the number of quests dries up horribly. I know this game requires an element of rerunning quests but between 1 and 10 you only really *need* to do this for favour or loot purposes (say muckbane or some of the static end rewards). You *can* level all the way to ten without really repeating anything, and it would be nice to get to 20 by way of the same.

I should say that I comment on this without the benefit of having actually levelled to max level - from looking on the wiki at quest lists its clear that the numbers drop off. I have no experience of how fast the levelling process is above 11 as I have only just got a character to that point, and tend to static group so don't progress very fast.

Heh, thank you for proving a point I was trying to make in another thread that plenty of newer players were already starting to see the content wall of not enough endgame. Very well enunciated post OP.

I believe they are coming. We had Inspired Quarter, Dreaming Dark, and the new f2p quests that were all high level. Inspired you can get into at 16 and farming it for the named loot there can bring you to 18 pretty easily as the xp/hour is nice. Also there is great loot from the quest rewards. Dreaming Dark, I haven't seen as many groups farming it lately but if you find a nice group that is forming to farm that place go for it. I leveled 2 of my characters from 18-20 farming to ransack on the disc pieces.

Sentinels the next pack is a lower level one like 8-10. But with most of the others so far being high levels I think we will get them to that content amount eventually. There is only so much that can be released at a time imo.

But yes, I do agree that the pickings for higher levels you have to repeat more than at the lower levels.

Yes, listening to the DDO cast and such, I have heard the dev's say that the new wilderness area will be CR9 (the one with underwater combat) and that would mean the dungeons for it are around 2-3 lvls above that, right? Plus it will be built from the start for Epic. Since the normal setting will be CR10ish, the hard and the epic settings should extend into CR15ish.

epic mobs will be cr37+ as otherwise its not epic

Was probably just a typo and they meant hard and elite settings extend to CR15.

Glad to know that there are others out there who recognize that this is a big problem with this game. Hopefully Turbine will address this soon!

I agree to the OP at least to some degree. When you look at the distribution of quests, even if you are VIP and have access to all of them, by level 12ish you'll pretty much have to start repeating quests or otherwise do repeated raiding to get to the next levels. Most people won't consider that a problem, but I wonder how high the replay value of these quests and raids really is to everyone.

I realize that in a game where you can create and play multiple characters you will inevitably run into the same quests over and over again, unlike in PnP, where you'll _never_ run any adventure twice, because most of the thrill comes from facing unknown dangers and being prepared for the unexpected. But, is it really neccessary to make rerunning mandatory even if you just play one character? Or at least, if it's really required, why don't you add more random elements like traps at random locations, caster mobs with variable spell lists (even on same difficulty settings), varying types of mobs from what in PnP would be a random encounter table? Such changes would make the reruns feel less like a grind and more like a 'new' experience.

I just did a test and put up an LFG for Dark Rainbow. Never done the quest but had dudes join and we knocked it out! It didn't take ling to fill. Maybe the issue is that people are shy when ti comes to listing an LFM. I will just have to see and try starting some more LFM's on Sarlona.

Setting lfm's is one way to address the issue.

But as you said your level 15 once you get yourself shroud flagged, and perhaps even get yourself restless isles flagged (if you have not already for titan running) once your heavy raiding you will probably cap Gomosh out. Now not sure what your plans on after that but you'll probably have to start working on a new character. Gomosh will be pulled out when your off raid timer to better his gear and save items for future builds but not much will be done with him outside raiding and maybe epic. Which since your relatively new wont be as boring to you.

Epic has its initial ooh ahh moment for a player like myself till I realized this is the same dungeon I ran a hundred or more times the last 3 years and just has mobs with higher hp and blanket immunties.. then I get to hope that I may get a seal or scroll I need and work on grinding out tokens to upgrade gear that still doesnt touch my greensteel items..

As you can tell from this and the interview I did on your show im with you on worrying about high level content. I hate calling it end game because the more I do so the more I realize yes there is an end game and when I finally get there mentally there will be no more reason to play anymore.

I hope that somewhere in Turbine's long term game plan they really start paying attention to those of us who worked to get our characters to high level and want to play in a newer powerful playing field where we cant test all our choices and truly see if their "golden reroll" reincarnation format is for us.

I think that Turbine *is* addressing this problem.

Imagine the game a year ago. You'd be just one level away from the cap of 16. Once you finished the Vale, you'd have the Reaver's Refuge to look forward to (4 quests plus a few small explorer zones) plus two raids (Hound/Vision), then that's it. No Shavarath, none of those four ftp quests that were released with the last update, no Inspired Quarter -- basically somewhere around 18+ fewer high level quests to run, not including the Tower of Despair raid.

We're moving at lightspeed compared to the pre-mod 9 days; all that content was released in the past 7 months, not even a full year. I have no doubt that Turbine is going to continue to churn out plenty of new content this year.
