I don't necessarily have the feats or enhancements in the right order, and for some reason, it wouldn't let me take Improved Precise Shot until I had *20* DEX.

Summary: The SFPotC (or just Silver Flame Chalice) is an offensive/support Paladin, using her aura, spells, and turn undead charges/lay on hands to support her allies while PRIMARILY raining arrows on the enemy with her longbow.

I'm guessing Dex is Bow Damage simply because there's a feat that adds Strength to bow damage... which wouldn't make much sense if Strength already added to bow damage.

This build won't be great. But it will be interesting. And that's what I'm going for.

(I'm interested in seeing how a Cleric of the Silver Flame would work out, too, but eh)

Any advice on where to move some feats and enhancements? What enhancements to drop, and so forth.

EDIT: As for the high Heal stat, I figured it would help when the party rested, giving a potentially SP-drained Cleric some respite as far as healing everyone. Not to mention I need to solo, and it'd be nice to be full health after a rest.

Balance is because it'd help me not get too discombobulated.

Nevermind.

Smite Evil doesn't work with bows.

Useless enhancement line.

Oh, uhm, interesting idea.
Though I´d rather take an Elf as a Silver Flame follower. At least you could gun for simultaneous Arcane Archer and not be THAT much of a liability.
Though I doubt you will find many groups that will keep you, after they find out you´re a proud Silver Flamer and they picked themselves up from the floor, wiping away the tears of laughter. :p

I honestly can´t begin to suspect what they were thinking, giving Paladins that useless Silver Flame Tenant.
Noob bait? :(

W.O.W.

Do ya think you could've added a little MORE condescension to that statement? -_-

bow damage is trash...

you DO NOT get to add your dex bonus to damage. Your to hit is based off DEX.

So here is what you get...really slow attack speed...and the inability to add STR bonus. Maybe you should consider the Bow Version of Favored Soul. Atleast then by level 7 you would realize how crappy bow damage is, but you would have a "good job".

In PnP DnD this would be a super fun build I think...just not here in the DDO world. Not trying to be mean...just trying to save you time.

If I was trying to be mean...I would say : "Looks awesome, build it and post how it goes". Also this is about as useful as the "Doorstop Palidin".

Also I feel I must point out...you lack many shot...which is the only time ranged works.

Also maybe you should consider a Ranger that "specializes" in hunting undead (favored enemy). You would have healing abilities and the ranged DPS you crave (almost). And maybe Arcane Archer would be a nice PRE for you. And kinda like the Favored Soul comment...you would atleast be just a few swapped feats away from the powerhouse which is known as Tempest.

And to the guy talking about "Silver Flamer Palidin" i think that was a homosexual joke...which is kinda off-based and childish. So please ignore him...

I already scrapped the Silver Flame Paladin idea. Look at the second post. It doesn't really bear any more hammering in.

Anyways, I am creating an Arcane Archer and actually enjoying it. Having Bow Strength at the very first level has practically doubled my DPS.

However, I think I might make a bard instead of a ranger. Not really sure.

This topic is now officially about a good starter party-friendly solo-great-if-you-can-make-it-but-don't-fret-about-it bard.

And I say so. Because I'm the topic creator.

Check out "Axesinger Bard". I currently am running one of those. He is a ton of fun and can solo pretty well with songs/haste/displacement. I am WF and use Picks. I do traps...I sing and buff. I can heal...and I can DPS and Stat damage stuff (wounding and puncturing). My guy is only 16 now, but he is kinda an off-dps melee. And if all those leeches that use MY songs and MY haste did'nt get MY buffs...I would lead in kill counts lol. But that is the beauty of that build. Team player that CAN solo.

BTW when you say BRD are you more/less speaking about going elf Arcane Archer as a BRD? If so, cool and have fun with that. If you are just looking for a fun soloer...check out the Axesinger...

I hate that it's multiclass, but perhaps I can jimmy it into a pure bard class.

If you wanna stay pure...look up "Hangover" which is MaddMatt's pure BRD. He says its his most powerful toon. Matt is a beast and I value what he has to say. Also check out his RNG threads. You can probably learn a bit from those also.

Also talking to Matt he told me its nice to have a melee BRD (Axesinger) and also a pure BRD. I think I will end up doing both. Just wanna have more twink gear for the pure lol.

Search function is mostly win on this board.

I can't seem to find any recent information on Hangover, though. Last post I can find was over a month ago and it contains no build information.

Maybe I should search for his posts, though...

Oh, I found a pure Warchanter build of his called Rabiez. I think I'll follow that.

EDIT: It's really hard to work into a 28-point build, but I'm making progress.

Okay, it was hard, but I gave my best shot at it.

My concern with the build originally posted by maddmatt70 is that it seems like he left some enhancements in when editing, because there's just not enough AP to get all of those enhancements.

I don't like how squishy the Bard is at 222 HP, but it's better than my first attempt, which had it at 180!

Oh well, gear will probably compensate for that.

And I can get a Constitution Tome from the auction house or something.

All in all, it was difficult to assemble, especially guessing which spell I needed where.

Actually, I'm not sure why Master's Touch is in this build. If it's piercing focused, you're going to be using a rapier. Bards come with rapier proficiency.

So, now I'm confused. Or does it act like Oversized TWF as well?

well, +6 con item and a +1 exeptional con item from shroud (since you have an odd con score) will net you another 80 HP's bringing you to 302. A +45 item from shroud will bring you to 347, Toughness from Minos adds another what 22, bringing you to 369. Then a +30 HP item brings you to 399 unbuffed. Not bad. Then add a +2 con tome and you are up another 20 hp to 419 unbuffed. Thats not to bad. Yea some things will still eat you alive but you won't be super squishy atleast. Just have to really work to get that HP up there.

If you do a +3 exceptional con item you'd get another 20 HP above this and would be at 439 HP's.

EDIT looking a little deeper into your build I'd suggest trying for a +2 dex tome. Save up your cash and find one on the AH for 2 mil ish gold. Yes its a steep price for a newer player but you would in the end get 2 more into Strength which will give you more to hit and damage which is always good for a melee character.

You're missing Improved Crit, which is a bit sad. I'd take it over Maximize. And you'd definitely want a +2 Dex tome on that kind of build.

Wow, the DDO community sure went to pot. What's with all the condescension and stuff? What happened to simply "You should take Improved Critical over Maximize"? Ugh...

Well, I'll fix that, but I based it off of this: http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=154982 which had Maximize and some feats in really odd places.

EDIT: You know what? I'm REALLY tempted to drop this whole Warchanter attempt and just go Spellsinger. I can always party with other people and stuff, and if I have my Strength at 14, I can still attack enemies or something.

It was definitely not meant to be condescending, sorry if it turned out that way. English is not my first language and I didn't realize that saying something is "a bit sad" was insulting.

In all fairness, I overreacted, so I apologize too.

In the end, I ended up going with the Revisited Flame of Justice: http://forums.ddo.com/showpost.php?p=2804563&postcount=19

Yes, a Pally build, but I got bored of Bard just doing all the research 9_9

And to the guy talking about "Silver Flamer Palidin" i think that was a homosexual joke...which is kinda off-based and childish. So please ignore him...
WHAT!
Are you off your rocker?? Guess somebody needs to examine his own prejudices before accusing somebody else of imaginary ones.
Good idea on the ignoring part though, that´s definitely what I´ll do with your post (BTW it´s PalAdin).

As to the OP. Can´t help it if you´ve taken my post as condescending, but it was mainly meant tongue in cheek(notice the smiley with tongue?).

Some reading on the ranger forum would´ve shown you how totally underpowered this build idea was.
Though granted, it is something different.
I´ll probably sometime even try it just for fun. Kinda like playing DDO on insane mode. ;) (see smiley again)

Again, if you want anything to do with bows there´s no way around Elves.
The just recently boosted Arcane Archer enchancements are downright criminal to pass up on.

Or maybe you aren´t aware of it, but you can have prestiges of different classes at the same time.
As elves get the Ranger Arcane Archer prestige as part of their racial ability, you thus can get both while still staying pure in your class.
