View Full Version : Master's Touch Proposal;

Currently when you cast Master's Touch you get all martial and simple weapon proficiencies but that often causes a slight delay of game or lag when you cast the spell and when the spell is removed(shrining, dispell, death, etc.). Furthermore, you typically only need a very small handful(1-3) of different weapons to be proficient with anyways.

My suggestion is something along the lines of the Holy Sword and Fire Shield spells where you can choose the weapon/buff and pull that specific option into your hotbar, that way you don't have to deal with the lag ascociated with aquiring all the proficincies at once. I would however keep the option "All Proficiencies" in the list aswell, that way you can still have all the weapon choices for that spell cost. On the same note, this suggested change would keep the same cost to cast as the original version.

This suggestion is only for Master's Touch due to the drawbacks of casting it, not for simillar spells like Fire Shield or Holy Sword.

Really, it should just make you proficient with your current weapon(s) as long as they are simple or martial. The game would only have to check what you have equipped when the spell is cast, and when you change weapons.

I love this idea. Make it so.
Then I'd actually use master's touch combined with DP clickies to save some SP here and there.

Really, it should just make you proficient with your current weapon(s) as long as they are simple or martial. The game would only have to check what you have equipped when the spell is cast, and when you change weapons.
That's a more complicated operation than what Inspire suggests, and thus one who might not end up reducing the lag.

If they could change this spell to pull up a list like Holy Sword or resist energy, I think that would be a 100% improvement.

I do not cast this spell on my bards because of the lag otherwise I would. This is a spell that should be fixed.

Please! This spell was pretty much responsible for several build decisions on my bards. Fixing the lag issue would make it so much more useful - instead of a potential liability.

The lag caused by the addition of all the proficiencies and the roll of them in the combat log is ridiculous.

yes please. Master's Touch for me is unusable due to the laaagg.
I'm also wondering if just removing the multiple messages in the combat log might help reduce the lag a bit.
