Just pulled a +3 Vicious Kopesh of Pure Good and wondering if its worth using? Given my Warchanter only has 175 HP I can see the 1d3 damage becoming an issue quickly if he's taking other damage. The extra DPS is tempting though...

Thoughts?

At that level of HP, no.

When you have 600 hp and are trying to bypass unpassible DR...maybe.

But generally speaking vicious gets sold to the broker.

Time to stock up on healing potions. And keep them coming. Think of it as a 10% tax on your loot in exchange for the extra damage. :P

I used to use a vicious weapon on bosses only, but I quickly found better options for my weapon prefix. It did good damage though and as long as you don't get agro and are self-sufficient or the healer doesn't mind healing both the tank and you, you can take advantage of that.

Only way I'd use a Vicious weapon is if I had no other choice and I had a guild cleric who ok'd it ahead of time or my own personal hierling healer.

FB 3 barb with death frenzy and a vicious of pure good does some pretty serious damage.

Base + 4d6 + 2d6 + 1d6

Having DF going with a vicious would mean 2d3 incoming damage, but that isn't much when you have 600+ hitpoints.
