View Full Version : Colapsed Portable Hole: Rates

I would like to know what are the rates for this item.
I got one, but i have no idea for how much to sell it.
I have the favor to "fix" it for the extra room in my inventory, but i have no need (yet) for it right now.

In AH there are ranges from 150k to 2,5M... And base price is 50k. As far as i can tell, is a pretty rare item (but than again, i´m quite new in this game), and seldom drops in mid-to-high lvl quests...

And i guess that some others players can use this thread when they get one of these. Most new players will not see one of these until about lvl 12-14.

Thanks for the time anyway.
Forgive me for my rusty english... Lack of practice you know...

At this time, if you earn enough GH favor, I think it is the first level, you can choose a portable hole as a reward.

Of course, as you do the GH for favor you will probably find a portable hole.

I think the other offer is a Siberys Shard.

I always choose the portable hole.

Whoever is charging 2.5 million is totalling ripping people off, in my opinion.

My thoughts are that I should help other players to enjoy the game so they continue to play. When you charge too much for an item, you sort of take away some of the enjoyment of the game because someone feels ripped off.

My guess is that a lot of the posters that complained about DDO dying are the same ones that ask exhorbitant amounts on the auction house.

Besides Collapsed Portable Hole (what is it, anyway, and how does it differ from "regular" Portable Hole?), what devices exist which would allow me to shrink my inventory, and how does one go about finding them?

I noticed that during my latest raid (I finally got through Gnashtooth Clan!) one or two mushrooms did not go into Collectibles bag. After the raid, as soon as I sold some other mushrooms to Celaeno, the former ones suddenly moved into the bag. Looks like Collectibles bag has a limit, and it is not large.

I would pay about 50k gold for a portable hole but not much more. After all, to get that last inventory tab you need to pay 100k gold in addition to giving away the hole. Usually everyone can wait until Gianthold to get one.

The collectible bags display the number of items they can hold.

The main ways to "shrink inventory":

1. Ranged weapon vendors sell quivers. You can have several of these. Buy at least two wide quivers to store all various ammo found as a loot even if you rarely do ranged yourself.

2. Wander to the Twelve, south from the marketplace. They will give you a bag to store shards. It will only hold a 1000 of each but you can crunch them up to bigger shards at the stone of change near marketplace bank.

3. Some vendors, like Empty Handed general store at house Jorasco, sell medium bags at about 80k gold. Each character can have one, and you can have it in addition to your small bag.

4. Containers can also be given to other chars or stored at the shared bank with their contents, which might help if you want to hold on to some collectables etc. for a long time. Or to give your unneeded ammo to a poor ranged character.

5. Mail collectables to your other characters. Yes, it is a hassle, but a good option if you don't have the bank space. It costs next to nothing due to low base value of collectibles. Write the amount of items to the topic of the mail so you won't have to open it to see if you have a full set or need more. If you have several characters this way you only need to make the returning runs with one of them.

6. DDO store sells bigger bags. If you have the funds to make your adventuring life easier, go for it.

7. Lock everything you plan on using. Makes it easier to see what you can sell or auction off.

8. 75 Coin lords favor nets you a 4th inventory space. 150 favor + collapsed portable hole + 100k gold will net you the 5th one.

9. If you are in a rush to empty inventory before a quest, sell everything you don't need to a vendor (not broker!). When you get back and have more inventory space, you can use the buyback option to get them back with no extra charge. They will be stored for 24 hours I think. All vendors share the same buyback list.
