Hey all, thought i'd write this up to put forth a small but public notice of the existance of The Thieves Guild. We are on the Argonnessen server. Since we are over 30 members strong and growing fairly quickly i've decided to put up some sort of online presense. Feel free to visit our wiki page at http://compendium.ddo.com/wiki/The_Thieves_Guild. As a quick disclaimer, I just put it together 20 mins ago, and it still needs work but at least the structure is up and the point is across.

Most people recognize me as Turinde Deathstalker (Turin of Deathstalker). I am the guild creator, i'm sure I won't be the Guild Leader/Master forever. I am also very lucky to have some great Officers, including Sunami/Splender who basically helped me build this thing from the very beginning (and I mean BEGINNING, as in: we were around level 4 or 5 at the time). And of course our members, so far so good. :) Also we are proud members of the growing and successful Alliance of guilds (kudos to Sicarri of Darkside, great job bro!).
Soo. I figure this would be a good thread to start to not only assist members in communication, questions, items requests, etc...but also to help provide answers and help to anyone else out there with rogue related and non-rogue related questions (warning: answers might be from rogue point of view :)). If any other guild would like our expertise and services, please feel free to DDO mail me or reply to this thread.

And to answer a prospective recruit's obvious first question: Yes we do accept all classes.

let the lucky shadows engulf you,

Turinde

Thanks Mr. ED :), happy to be a member.

Also I wanted to post some info I submitted on the rogue thread that may be helful for any aspiring assassination rogues or shadow rogues.

------*****
Some other ideas that might help, stay away from the rest of the party group, especially the tanks. If the party is heading in the direction of 0 degrees i stay about 12 steps at 45 degrees or 315 degrees ahead, that way you are at perfect flanking angle and by the time the mob heads towards the group you are already behind most of them and thus can begin the assassination run.

Tip #2, you can assassinate two monsters at the same time. Try to maximize this by positioning an opponent at each of your arms. That way you get 2 kills for one and of course the 2nd opponent won't blow your cover because their dead.

Tip #3, make sure you have good subtle backstabbing, use it, and get crippling or slicing blow feat. While you are waiting for assassinate clock to run out, use slicing/crippling blow. That way you know that your opponents will eventually bleed to death anyway even if have to leave for a sudden reason.

Tip #4, do not bump into the monsters, as you guys mentioned previously in this thread, do not be face to face to the mob, if they begin to run, and you are moving also, you have a good chance to bump them and a great chance to break your cover.

What I prefer to do when in a party, is to have the rest of the party wait outside, enter the chamber, and do concentric circles around the room from the outside heading into the center (like a spiral), Take out the opponents on the far reaches of the mob group. I know it can take discipline to not head straight for the prime or most valuable target but doing this will increase your chances of not be noticed.

Tip #6, always keep in mind noise and sound. Backstabbing an enemy while it is moving will cause more sound and noise, backstabbing an enemy when it is close to another in its mob will allow the others to hear them being attacked. If the enemy is on a guard route (you will notice moving monsters have a route they take and then repeat it) wait until it is far from the rest of the mob and stopped (or paused). And whatever you do, DO NOT break boxes, vases, etc. Break these after you take them all out. Also, DO NOT switch weapons, drink pots, or any other clicky when trying to stealth. They will hear it and have a better chance of noticing you.

If you see an opponent suddenly stop its route and head towards your direction move laterally(keeping distance between you and the monster fixed or expanding) and behind the opponent (out of their FOV). If your lucky they will stop looking for you.

Another tip, when using an item (switch, door, lever, etc) try to move as far as you can to the side of the usable switch and preferably out of lighted areas and out of view. For instance a door: stay behind the walls to the right and left of the door and open the door, so when the door opens you are there ready to smil and say hellow to the mob that will be looking right at the open door.

Stealth is your friend. It keeps you alive, allows you great DPS, and the advantage of time. A rogue can sit hidden in just about any place for as long as they want, other classes cannot, use that to your advantage. When your assassinating, be patient, meticulous, and most of all, as deadly as you can be.

Personally I like the seeker weapons with a crippling or sapping ability, so if i don't kill them with assassinate they will be much weaker for the rest of the party to take them down. The seeker ability is obvious.
-------*******

Hope that helps some people out there, i'd be more than happy to hear any other good tips!

Good tips. I want the above feat for my Fighter-Rogue junior-assassin build: Blackstrap.

Just to let anyone who runs into this know, we're going to be doing some try-out recruiting in a couple weeks. If your interested contact turinde or iraeval on the argo server. I should have a TR rogue build ready by then so I can play along.

Myself and some of the officers have decided to open up a time of recruitment. Please notify me, Turinde, or one of our officers (listed on our guild compendium page) for more details. New recruits must show initiative, willingness to help others, intelligence, and maturity. We are currently at around 60 members, we'll probably recruit another 10.

I've been in two guilds before arriving in a guild that really fit me. This guild is really well suited for beginner as well as for advanced players. Every member is generous, helpful and really passionate about the game.

Well i'm glad to hear that and welcome once again!

By the way, if anyone is wondering, we're taking a break from recruitment for a while, at least "open recruitment". During the break we'll only be bringing in potential recruits after they have been "vetted". What is vetted? Officers will explain this process to you in-game (in person).

We would like our newer members and recently promoted officers to settle in for a bit and also to allow unused or idle members to be sifted out before we continue. We believe in quality, not quantity as it is said.

The Thieves Guild

This is the official posting from the guild leader of The Theives Guild regarding changes, updated policy, and may others as of 6/05/10. Any of the following is subject to change, so please ask an officer for any updates regarding the so mentioned.

REVIEW:

As you may already know, this guild was started about 3- 3 1/2 years ago. It started very small (obviously) and has grown to be of good stature on the Argo server. Because of the size of our guild now, the officers and myself feel the need to address certain things and list them here mostly due to reference and ease of access.

In general, myself and the officers feel the guild is going in a great direction, of course there are kinks here and there but we have a fairly balanced guild (with exception to the rogue count of course) with many excellent players, great attitudes, and extremely helpful members. So I want to say congratulations to all of you for helping make this guild a fun, exciting, and entertaining entity to belong to. You all make us very proud!

POLITICS:

We seem to be getting along pretty well with most guilds. As far as we are aware there is no outgoing hate or aggression towards us which is good. We do not promote guild agitation and because of our nature prefer to be a guild that is well respected, revered, and called upon for needs of services, knowledge, and advice.

If you do not already know this, we are Allied with The Darkside Guild. This means we make an attempt to help any of their members when we can and also if they ask us for help namely: items, advice, quest knowledge that we try to take time out to help them. We use our alliance channel to communicate with them.

We are also in an alliance relationship with the guild: Umbra Vindex. They participate in our Alliance channel now so please try to welcome them and help them along.

And of course this goes both ways, if someone in the guild is not available or out of your range to help, please make use of this channel!
That' s why it is there, and many of us try to maintain and use the channel to keep it going. If you are unsure how to use the channel please ask an officer for help.

RECRUITMENT:

Because of the new Update 5 coming soon, we are revising our recruitment strategy. We are pushing for more Barbarians and more Bards in priority.
This means if you know a barbarian or a bard looking for guild, their acceptance will be expedited. We are also looking for "capped" or lvl 20 characters willing to donate that character to our capped/epic RAID and guild quests. The above will receive the quickest acceptance into our roster. All other classes and levels are by REFERRAL ONLY. This means that a prospective joiner should only be recruited by an officer if they have been vouched for by at LEAST 2 officers OR they are put through a trial or test period. It is common that a prospective recruit that is fairly new to the game will have no one to vouch for them. This is why we have a trial/test period. If you have any questions about this please contact myself, Iraeval, or Fritolays.

Besides the above policy, I don't care how good a player thinks they might be, if they do not have a positive outlook, and cannot uphold the image of our guild in a positive light, they will not be accepted into our organization. All recruits and members should be able to communicate well, be helpful, and not reflect poorly on our guild name.

ROSTER POLICY:

As of now, if your a member of our guild and plan on going on a vacation or a long trip, etc, PLEASE inform us. The best way to inform us would be to post it on this forum. Other than posting it on our forum, make sure you contact an officer and that I or the officer is notified and that you have a RESPONSE from them knowing they got the message. If no one is notified of your idle character time then you will be subjected to the following:

Any member OR officer idle (without notice) LONGER than 3 months will be removed from the guild.
Any OFFICER idle (without notice) LONGER than 2 months, will be demoted to member.

So PLEEEASE notify someone and make sure they got your notification if you plan on taking extended breaks from the game. I really don't want this guild to require always active players but to be fair: please let someone know. If you have a weird schedule, travel a lot, in the military, etc, PLEASE let us know and you will be exempted. Otherwise we have to clear the roster and look for replacements.

OFFICERS:

Because of the size of our guild, recruitment strategy should be shaped around this: If you vouch for a recruit and they are brought into our organization, you SHOULD help this new character. This means, helping them with gear, training, lvling, flagging, etc. This also means that this character should also be monitored to a light extent on their social skills, attitude, etc. If a recruit goes south, the officer that recruited them would hopefully be the first person
to remove them. And good recruits will be accepted whole-heatedly by all and congratulated upon.

After discussing with the officers and some of the members, these are the following OPEN officer positions:

1: RAID/EPIC Officer, someone who will help manage our epic crack force, and will also provide advice for RAIDS.
2: Forum Officer, someone who will help monitor our forum threads, encourage more traffic, and sync with current guild publications.
3: Guild House Officer, someone who will keep eye on guild house, house enhancements, strategies, etc.
*4: <class> Build officer, I'm considering a build officer for popular classes that can help younger players advance in that class. A specialist in that class, if you will.

If you believe a member to qualify for any of these positions, please let me know.

FUTURE:

As above mentioned, this guild is about: after you have a long day, you log in, hang out with friendly people, entertaining people, and quest/loot, and have fun.
Our guild will continue to base our direction around those ideals. Friendly atmosphere, outgoing and friendly players, and helping each other out.

Don't sweat the guild changes coming, we've been preparing for a while, I GUARANTEE you our guild house will be awesome and we will continue to be a top notch guild!
I will update you as these changes come, obviously.....and also with new ranks and such that are coming...

I already see many helpful members and officers which is awesome, and more item gifting, tips, and help flagging is always good. I also would like to see a little less trash talking of other members and guilds in guild chat. I understand quests, especially RAIDs can be frustrating, but try to keep it to tells or other channel forms of chat if possible. A lot of negative and trash talking makes other members feel that SOME of our members are elitest and that's not what were about. All members should feel comfortable participating in our guild chat and be encouraged to ask for help without feeling stupid.

I also would like us to continue to be a well respected guild with good reliable people in it. Every time I hear great things from other players outside our guild about our members it makes me smile, so keep it up! As a leader I try to let you guys know if I hear great things about you and how myself and the officers think of you but I can do better so I will try harder at keeping you informed of all the great things we think you guys are doing!

SUMMARY:

Please contact an officer or myself for any questions, thoughts, complaints etc. The more we communicate the better we all will be.

I know I speak for Frito when saying: We are extremely happy with our guild! You guys make a great team! You officers help me so much and I thank you! And keep on keepin' on!

Here is another posting as an addendum to my previous post.

First off, Congratulations to Nyskha for the Raid Officer position. Also congrulations on the assignment of Officer Kiamen to Forum Officer position.

A quick note I wanted to put up here on the forum is this:

PLEASE submit your bio to Kithkana! A mugshot would be nice too but if your not sure how to do this, let Kithkana or myself know and we can take care of that.

We would LIKE to see all officers have at least their bio submitted so we can put it up on our site. This should be done before update 5 hits.

Thanks again and happy adventuring!

Hey Turinde,

Very nice to hear from you!

Yes we just hit level 25 this PM and I bought a few things to upgrade the ship. It begin to feel more a place to hang there than it was with the other smaller ship. Also, all previous upgrades that were on the small ship transfered on the new one! :D

Hope to catch you online soon and run a few quest with you.

Hey, I've sent a PM to Turinde but I get the impression s/he doesn't check the forums very often, so this one's for the Forum officer (i like that your officers are given jobs. this is a Good Thing).

Just wondering, do you have a reasonably strong presence at 7pm-12am GMT? Works out to about 2pm-7pm EST.

If you do I think I'd like to apply for your membership test, having checked out your wiki site and this thread you seem to be well organised, welcoming and generally relaxed and (rightly or wrongly) I pick up a reasonably strong RP flavour, all of which sounds right up my street. Just struggling to find enough players at Euro times, and I dont' want to start all over again on Thelanis or Ghallanda.

Let me know, thanks!

The Thieves Guild now has their own website; you can check it out here (http://www.thethievesguild.guildportal.com/Guild.aspx?GuildID=379454&TabID=3191812)
The guildportalsite had been created recently and still needs some work left to be done. But it’s a start. It helps in getting things organized and to increase the warm feeling a friendly guild has to offer.

We are still (and have been for over 3,5 years) an active guild on the Argonnessen server, and currently have a few spots open for applicants.
If you feel the wicked are your kind of people, don’t be shy, contact our Leader Turinde or any of our officers. We welcome mature, intelligent players with chars from every level (our members range from starting levels to vets with TR’s), from any class or race (not restricted to rogues only :D)
Especially (but not specifically) we have a few gaps to fill on the European side of the big water. There are about 4 of us online during those odd US-off-times, some more names around won’t hurt us.

Wouldn’t it be great to fill parties with guild members? To know the players you are in a party with? To not fear for mistakes, try out an experimental build, or just have a good laugh every now and then? To share or ask for knowledge, items, help in whatever way possible?

We provide such a place: The Thieves Guild!
There’s no home like a wicked home!

It depends on what you want it to do?
Now it shows as a clickable link, because you use the [u r l] [/u r l] codes.
If you want the picture to show in the post, you need to use the codes (if i'm not mistaken, not that experienced yet, and don't have a picture at hand now to test it for you, i'll try that later)

I posted this on guildportal, so I might as well put it here too:

Obviously several positions have changed but the structure remains the same. We hope to provide you with an up-to-date listing of officers and their designations as soon as we can. I really hate using the word "officer" since this is The Thieves Guild, but the game requires that lingo so the word stays in my cheek( and ready to be spat out as soon as they FINALLY update the ranking server formatting).

The biggest change as of late is our recruitment and our officer corps. Recruitment as before is by referral only. Now members will have a trial period. The member referring should provide feed back after a fair amount of time, 2-4 weeks or so, the progress of the new recruit. If there are complaints from other officers, the member is removed. All member complaints or commendations will be noted. This is a bit more relaxed than our previous recruiting campaign, and this is mostly due to the fact that we, as a guild, have a space of about 20 accounts. I, and as most other officers feel, don't think keeping the modified guild account score at 20 would be in our best interest. Therfore, we will take it up to 40-45.

And once again, we are not a rogue ONLY guild. This guild is based on a state of mind, not a class. We are a family, treat each other as family, we HAVE FUN, we stick together, and we take from the game what we want. All classes are welcome! Also we STRONGLY encourage any account joining brings their alternate toons with them. This is not completely necessary but, from a leader to a member: believe me this will be in your best interest, and as a leader to an officer: this is REQUIRED.

So for now, we are recruiting, on REFERRAL only, Another 20 accounts or so. Typically what we do is assign officers to "handle" new members as they are recruited. I can go over process more in detail if you would like.

Our guild goes way back( wayyyy back), and what separates us from the others is our cohesion, compassion and sacrifices to each other, and our pride and honor. We don't need advertising or blind invites, believe me our guild name carries plenty of weight.

And to new recruits: Make sure you really want to stay, because if you do go, it is very unlikely you will allowed back( there have been FEW exceptions).

This may seem a bit aggressive of an update but this is the best way I can express the feeling of the officer corps. I'm actually the more understanding out of the group. :)

Interesting recruitment techniques.

As far as renown points go, it would seem that some of the more successsful guilds in that regards are the larger ones.

It would seem that the small guild bonus would not compare well to points gained via a larger number of members.

Good luck with your endeavors!

I dunno, really. I think it depends on the members, and what they are running on a regular basis.

We're doing fairly well at the moment with the larger sized guild method, but (although I haven't asked them about it) I'd guess from their guild size that Overraided on Orien is probably getting a bonus from the small guild system.

Yes, I was thinking Chaosknights may be a good example.

The guilds I am associated with are at a medium guild bonus, and I suppose that is ok.

Not sure if the guilds should drop to a small intimate number or perhaps recruit some members at the start of the new year.

Thanks for adding your incite Osh.

Seems to me having a guild in the "small" category would risk the guild having to few people online to do groups together. Maintaining online activity seems to make more sense in the medium category. 20 accounts for small is just too low.

I wouldnt worry about guild renown so much as most guilds will plateau somewhere around 80-90. At that point guild decay will be so high that the gains in guild level will slow down by a lot. In fact the smallest guilds will actually suffer less in decay and will achieve a higher guild level than the largest guilds in the long run/end.

It will just depend what kind of guild you want to be in. You may prefer a small guild (less than 20 accounts) which you can fill with great earners and great players, but a full guild run will be practically non existent for most guilds that size; where you will have to depend on channel peeps or pugs.

Some may want a larger guild where you will usually get higher guild level faster but ultimately not be able to achieve the highest guild level like a small guild will be able to do in the long run. However, your chances will be better for more full guild groups and raids and more of a guild experience. If thats your cup of tea that is. Obviously a medium size guild is somewhere in between.

TURIN35RBAL2

I agree completely. Eventually most guilds will be in the 80+ guild lvl range. So i'm not worried about renown. I just want to make sure members and officers have a good time, namely having people in the guild to run quests and interact with while keeping consistency, honor, and integrity. 20 accounts just seems to be too low. And as above, why bother about renown, we'll all get there eventually anyway. Been at this game for 4 years now and I still understand what the hurry is, lol. And after running this guild for 3+ years now, i'm definitely not about to start encouraging blind invites.

Welcome back all that have come back from their "vacation"!

On a few quick notes, the guild chest. As i've mentioned in MOTD, it is for USE. In other words, if there is something you can USE in the chest, feel free. If you can't use it, please allow another member of the guild a chance to use it. The guild chest is not a repository for whomever feels it to be their financial benefactor. I'm not trying to scare anyone from taking from the chest believe me, but just try to keep other members in mind when browsing it, this is a guild we are in, remember? After a while, once it gets close to full, usually an officer that has too much time on their hands will AH or vendor whatever is in it and add it to the guild fund. If anyone was wondering the guild fund is in the airship show room in the harbor.

Also, Kithkana was kind enough to decorate the rest of the outside of the ship. I really think the red ring is a nice touch! Please take time out to thank him, it isn't cheap to decorate the ship, i've been there :). For anyone that is wondering, when we do upgrade to the next ship, the colors are SUPPOSED to follow with it. So don't panic. :)

Also, welcome all new members, feel free to use the guildportal site at thethievesguild.guildportal.com. Ekei runs it and does a great job in keeping up with it.

Have fun and may the dark shadows engulf you!

Just a quick update to our public form (this one):

We recently hit Guild Lvl 50 (congrats to all the hard working members!). We are really enjoying our new boat. We have also obtained some great new officers and also members that have great spirit, are very helpful, and fun to play with!

Our forum site is located on guildlaunch: http://thethievesguildargo.guildlaunch.com

We have recently had an officer's meeting and have updated a few policies. One of the biggest that I wanted to make public was the cutting in our roster. For now we are staying in medium guild size and we've decided to trim idle players to not only shorten the roster but take out the idle player score in our modified guild size. Long story short, IF YOU WERE REMOVED DUE TO IDLE, please contact me or any officer and they will re-add you if you are back to playing DDO again. The idle time that we decided to trim past is 5 months.

If you were removed because you made an officer mad, then sorry, that's it. No backsies.

Another public notice, you may see more of us on more raids and epics, there is quite a few more doing raid trains, feel free to join up with them and help them out!

Be safe, have fun!

Inactive players don't affect renown decay and don't count for guild size, by removing them you've bumped them to active status for 14 days.

There is no reason to remove inactive players unless you are actually at the guild member limit and need to invite more people.

To the former: oh really didn't know that, only been playing this game for 5 years.

To the latter: yep you got it! Clearing room for active players! Nice to have people agree with me. Congratulations! And your welcome.

Oh yeah, one more thing, when you do the ranking system on DDO forums guild section, it will list by members, not modified accounts size. So yeah that matters too.

Thanks for input tho!

Welcome New Officers!

Nuketown as our new boat, chest, and recruitment officer!
Darif as our new RAID and epic officer!

Since this is a public statement, i'll include a few more things. First of all, it pains me to hear Sicarii is taking a break from running The Darkside Guild. I really hope he comes back soon! Second, things have been going very well since we've hit the lvl 50 mark and therefore have a fancy new boat full of shadows for us to hide in.

Also for any outsiders interested in our guild, we are winding down. I have been getting word from more than one officer that we should consider closing or slowing down recruit-by-referral completely. We are at a modified guild size of 45. And we do not want to go anywhere close to 50. So in other-words, if you are interested in getting in contact with someone from The Thieves Guild, you will need to find the right person and have an excellent reference to fill any remaining space we are willing to allow.

Also exceptions....I have a bit of a problem in recruiting members from guilds that we have certain "relationships" with. There are exceptions but be aware that this can be a barrier to your prospects of joining us.

Once this final phase of "semi-recruitment" is over, we will probably end up being a closed guild for quite a while....6 months to a year.

We stand by the belief that anyone can be a bad person and a bad player; whether they are a TR 2, or a lvl 4 warrior right off of the boat. So we are not necessarily worried about how many flags you have, or Tier 3 GS items, or capped players, or Epic gear. We are more concerned with you ability to joke around, have fun, be loyal, have cooth, respect, and consideration for fellow guild members. And also they you represent our guild with some sort of respect and not make a fool of yourself.
The other "filling" we can help you with. The training, knowledge, groups, gear, etc. That is of our least concern when we consider recruits. Money, items, gear, etc are of real no issue to us. We have plenty of all of them and deem it remedial to worry about them.

When someone is prospected to be a recruit, 99% of the time, our first question will be "did he/her get along with the group he/her was in? was he/her helpful? did he/her go out of their way to help others? was he/her able to handle him/herself in a rough situation? etc"

Last item, don't come to me....if you ask me about recruiting i'm going to tell you what I tell everyone else "your talking to the wrong person."
Officers recruit. I'm not an officer.

Anyway that will be the last you hear from us for a while DDO forums, enjoy your summer. See you in the darkest shadows of the game....if you can find us!

Our Raids seem to be set at Tuesdays and Fridays.

Two sessions:

First at or around 3pm EST. Second at or around 11pm EST.

Which raids are we doing? Well generally it is up to our Raid officer, but usually it starts with 2 selected by the Raid Officer (Darif) and then we vote from there. This is a democracy btw.

Please contact an officer for questions or comments.

To all future recruits, members, officers:

Were at around 35ish modified guild account score. Because the ranking community has decided we should stay in the "medium" guild size, we cannot exceed 49. Personally I think giving 3-4 points to fluctuation as a buffer is a good idea. That puts our NET max score at 45. Since 45-35 is 10, we have room for ABOUT 10 more ACCOUNTS, give or take.

For anyone that doesn't know, accounts means: each actual player including all of their alternate characters. For instance, I have 11 characters (only 3 i use), but I am still one account.

In general terms, 10 accounts is a substantial amount of room to grow into. A lot of this new accrued "space" is from our last officer meeting and following roster cleaning.

So in short, if you know someone you would like to be elected to join our organization let an officer know and we will vet them accordingly. What we generally look for is:

1. Must have a sense of humor (god knows that just to put up with us).
2. Must have a reference: i.e. someone that is in the guild that can vouch for you.
3. Must be willing to learn and also to teach others.
4. Must be fairly active....what i mean by fairly active is preferably logging in at least once every week or so, which is pretty relaxed actually.
5. Must have a designated "handler". This means you need an officer that will support your needs, this way no new members are left behind.
6. Must be of adult mind-set. Most of us have real lives, families, jobs, etc. We expect new members to be supportive and/or considerate of that.
7. Not required but we ENCOURAGE that all new members also be willing to bring all of their alternate characters also. The reason for this will come to light later on.

Our past: The Thieves Guild has been around since 2007. We are an old guild that is closely wrapped, well respected, skilled, and very helpful to the DDO community when called upon.

What we have to offer: In short, if you are wondering that question, you are barking up the wrong tree. So, move on to another guild and save us the trouble.

Where we expect to be in the future: A close-knit happy, fun loving, entertaining guild where all members can relax, laugh, and enjoy the game together. Which includes trust, sharing of knowledge, items, time, etc.

Its very rare that we ever openly say we are "considering" recruits. And once our available spaces are filled, that will be it. We have no intention of getting any larger.

Who do you contact: Contact any officer or myself. You will be better off contacting an officer IMO.

5. Must have a designated "handler". This means you need an officer that will support your needs, this way no new members are left behind. (see #2)

Reached guildlevel 65 last week and still going strong.

We're organizing Eurotrash Guildraids every Tuesday (eurotrash bc during european prime time). Guildies first, if room for more LFM will be posted.
We're still a bunch of friendly folk, from expirienced to fairly new players, we don't mind teaching and helping out.
If you spot our LFM make sure you're not in a hurry or on your leet mind, we like to get stuff done aswell but not at the cost of our members' joy.

Guildies: check our website to see what raid is on the scedule and try to read up/start flagging.

Follow up on Raiding Tuesday:
September will be MA/LOB month.
We started flagging guildies who weren't yet this week.
Next 2 weeks will be MA, 2 weeks after that LOB

We have about 8 guildies on for the raids, so if you don't mind having a learning run (so new players get a chance to see the raid without just following dots around the map and we all get a chance to understand what's going on in that raid) you can contact me or leave a reply here and we'll try to connect ingame.

Get your chars flagged!
Depending who is on we will decide if we run heroic or epic.

It is time to put an update to the thread, several interresting changes have happend this last week or 2:

* We reached guildlevel 67, the new renown system is helping us greatly!
* As of December 1st, Turinde has stepped down as guildleader due to rl taking over all his spare time (and an internet connection not being able to even update the game isnt helpfull either.).
While Turinde may no longer be active, he will always be the Founding Father of the Thieves!
With his approval i have taken over the guildleadership and hope to keep the guild rolling for at least an even amount of time as Turi has done!
* We have formed a new cooperation with Fors Fortis and are very happy to have found new friends ingame! We've set up a new channel to interact with each other and in future might open it to more guilds.
Both guilds value RESPECT highly so that will be the key-word for any new ally.

As the resident guild forum tart, the task has fallen to me to bump our thread and let anyone who is looking for a guild on argo know that we are now actively recruiting again, after several years of happily bimbling along in a very casual fashion, we've decided we'd like to have a few more folks about the place - our guild ship is pretty big for a Small Guild, we'd like to head back to Medium territory.

As one of the oldest guilds on Argo, we have a rich history (that we've mostly totes forgotten about).

Having said that, we've only ever had one change of guild leader - First our Glorious and Beloved Turinde (all hail soupman!), and then when he left us for some kinda space age pastures, the mantle was passed to our current queen of Thieves, MarDeRoam, the (poster above me). She, I, and several others were around with the original Thieves' command crew, and look back upon these halcyon days with a sense of wonder that anyone ever found Kobold Assault actually difficult.

If I had to describe ourselves I'd say we're casual attitude with a scary, slightly tactile and smelly, layer of hardcore pro just under the surface (that would be our officer corps, Mash, Sraaken Faleen and Raddat) when it comes to actually getting quests done. Family friendly (i.e. time afk to deal with family stuff mid quest is fair enough - but although we tend to keep the cussing to a minimum, don't expect guild chat to be "clean"!).

Between our very small guild of about 9 active current players, I have this horrible sinking feeling that we might have over 50 years of DDO experience. Yeesh. As if my mid life crisis wasn't going badly enough...

We're mostly - but absolutely not only - european these days. We could do with a few more folks from the other side of the pond to keep Faleen and Sraaken occupied, and above all we want people who are chatty, take part in guild chat and can follow The Rules. We really only have 2 so its not that hard:

1. Don't be a ****.
2. Don't take the mickey when it comes to using the guild chest.

OK maybe there's a third: pay attention to guild chat please.

We like brand new players, they're the juiciest morsels, but experienced players are of course welcome if you happen to be looking for a new home. Look us up in the Who panel, and send a tell - you can send a PM to me here too, or you can mail... let's see, who am I playing a lot at the moment.... you could mail Anyayna in game. Yes. That ought to do it.

We'll try to run a quest or two with you and if you seem like a good fit we'll hook you right up to see if you can get through a month without breaking The Rules.

If you care about that sort of thing we're guild level 115 or so (I forget. Its around there), we have a decent sized ship and all the plat buffs you can buy, along with a hold full of old buffs.

... and remember: always know where your towel is. You'll need it for your raid LFMs.

I recently received news about our former guildleader, and founder of The Thieves Guild, Turinde (the OP of this thread) has passed away at age 42 in Februari of this year.
He stopped playing DDO around December 2012 but i'm sure there's still some old-timers around that knew him.
It's sad to know he had to leave his loved-ones behind, hope they will find peace in knowing he won't suffer any longer. May he rest in peace.
