I just started this game a few days ago and have already rerolled quite a few times as I am learning more and more about the game. I wanted a Pure Paladin who can do ok~decent DPS or Tanking when needed. I am not worried about raid content at all at this point nor am I concerned about tomes (I have no idea how long it would take to get any). Basically I want to be able to explore this game as much as possible using this character, solo or group. I would like her to be able to detect secret doors, be able to tumble with full plate on, have decent balance, can taunt and use diplomacy fairly when needed. I like CHA mod very much as you can see in the build - from what I understand it affect PLD damage and Lay on Hands a lot.

Basically she will use TWF when dps is needed in group/solo; SnB otherwise. Please tell me how viable this 28pt build is, what area she would have problems with and such. I would really like to make one character I know for sure I can level to 20 without rerolling and later on looking back and thinking, "hey, that first character I had was pretty neat for a starter."

Your help is very much appreciated in advance.

I think you may be trying to do too much here. Up to you how you want to play, but my suggestions:

6 constitution is an absolute no go - you need at least 10, and I would look to go higher.

14 in int I am assuming is for skill points. Make it 10 or 12, Get rid of tumble, and probably diplomacy as you should be tough enough to take the beating - hang onto intimidate if you want to taunt and intimitank for your group. I cant see any real benefit to concentration as most of your spells will be cast before a fight as they are buffs.

Opening secret doors can be done by a wand or item.

I assume 15 points in Dex is for TWF. Go down to maybe 12 - you wont get much benefit from it with plate mail on - and take the THF line for DPS.

Wisdom I assume is for spells. Put it at 10, and find yourself a +4 item to cover off that requirement.

Whatever points you have left put into Str, and I would continue to boost Str as you level (take an enhancement or two to bump up charisma).

Hope that helps.

Thanks for the reply. Looks like I was biting too much. I think I will go with the much easier rogue1/ranger build for my first char.

Appreciate you taking time to respond!

Even a 10 con on a tank class is going to be very not fun to play. I would never make one with less than 14.

"I think I will go with the much easier rogue1/ranger build for my first char"

I like them - you can be really useful with Rogue skills, and plenty of ranger TWF DPS. And you get nice high UMD.

Make sure to take the rogue lvl 1st for the extra skill points. (maybe take a second splash later on for evasion)
