I'm a total noob. Both to DDO and D&D in general (I played Icewind Dale once, that's the extent of it)

I thought I'd try out one of the basic templates Aranticus created. I thought the "Reformed Thief (http://forums.ddo.com/showpost.php?p=1812301&postcount=37) looked interesting and would suit my playing style.

I got started creating my toon and everything was going well till I was supposed to spend the skill points. Not sure what to do. I don't see them accounted for in the basic template. Can anyone give me any direction on how I should divvy these up. Whats the logic behind the choices. Maybe I can begin to understand this system.

Your top priority is to max out UMD, no matter what.
Ideally, you want to max out intimidate too, but not sure how you can do it with just 10 Int and no tome. Might still want to dump points in there when you are on rogue levels, and when you get your hands on a +2 Int tome.
Ideally, you also want to drop some points in balance, to be able to reach around 15.
