Back in the day I was given a PnP cleric to play for some high level content that our DM was running and I had so much fun with her that I thought I'd try to recreate her for DDO. So far she's only built on the character planner but she still looks fun. Obviously if she's a pacifist she'll need to have men at arms or friends to actually do the killing much like she did in the old PnP days. She'd go the entire night running around healing and screaming about the needlessness of violence stopping only to block oncoming attacts with her ever growing collection of shields and non damaging wands. Her healing was second to none and there were times when she talked the party's way out of some sticky situations. I can't remember hom many times she was asked to pick up a mace and help out but she was always able to define a "goodly" reason why she wasn't able to. lol Hence the name Unice the Goodly.

Don't know if I'll ever actually build her but I thought I'd share just the same.

If you are truly committed to non-violence, find a way to work in the UMD to cast shadow-walk scrolls or get the dragonmarks. If you are gonna foresake all offense you might as well have the benefit of displacement and fast run speed.

Drop int, you don't need it. Drop chr by 2, all it gives you is 1 DV. Bring Wis to 18 for spell DC and more SP. That DC matters at least as much for CC as for attackspells.

And be ashamed of yourself for not being willing to kill things.

First off, Turning sucks in DDO. Completely. Sucks. Things have so much HD that you won't be able to turn things above lvl 12 (moderately specced) and you will have a low chance at turning things (just scaring them) at lvl 18 if you have max cha, max turning enhacements and improved turning.

If you are a healing cleric you DEFINATELY want empower healing. For sure.

Resiliance is useless, pick up extend (helps with buffs). Tower shield proficiency is also pretty useless, there are some high lvl shields that give more DR then any tower shields, so there really isn't much point.

Usually most things that cast spells (Casters, Clerics, FvS) when they cast have 2 weapons in their hand. Things like potency (increases damage), lores (increase crit chance + dmg (stacks with enhancements)), or maybe a named item (shroud crafted weapon or skivver or the like, all that is high lvl). So most clerics do not roll with shield unless its lorriks shield (high lvl).

At low lvls you could plop on a shield for AC cause it matters, but when you get up to higher lvls it will be much much much harder for you to have a viable AC in the ranks where it actually matters. You could take monk levels for the wisdom -> AC, but if you are pure shields will not help at high lvls.

I love the role playing, but to be true to that mindset, I think you need to refuse to heal anyone who harms anything.

Just put in your LFM's "No killing. Charm or hold only".

People will be knocking down the door to be in your groups. :D

I have an Elf Cleric with the Invisibility Dragon mark so far. Will have Mnk2 for evasion. And also has high stealth skills

It's a very effective combo. Seldom gets agro, if there is anyone else around anyway.

From now on I'm sending all my Invis pots to my clerics.

But it is kinda boring to play her. Just standing around trying not to get noticed...lol.

Kinda funny to stand right next to a monster and heal people though.

Also have a CC specced Sorc, who prefers not to kill anything.

She's above that sort of thing....killing is for low-brow melee types.

She'll stone a monster inches from her face, then turn her back on it. But stand right next to it, like it is no concern of hers.

If for some reason her minons do not kill it, she will toss a firewall over her shoulder as she slowly walks away.

Wish there was a "does her nails" emote. :)

What about undead? Since they are already dead, and evil, is it ok to destroy them. It seems that to destroy the body would be the only humane thing to do for the trapped spirit.

Is this to truly not to kill anything or just not use a weapon?

I'm just curious. I may do something like this just to play something that doesn't kill. This does sound like something for entertainment value. You will have to let all groups know that you are not gonna try to kill. Every other game I try to kill everyone and everything. Never thought about not killing.

How about crowd crontrol or stunning/holding spells. If they are used on someone and someone kills them, does that still count as pacifist?
