Did you participate in MadFloyd's True Reincarnation event (http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=207512) on Lamannia? We've already received very good feedback from users who participated, and several errors have already been identified and are being worked on. In the meantime we're still looking for your responses on your experience with True Reincarnation!

What race/class was your character before they True Reincarnated? (Please include any multiclassing)
Where you confused at any point in the process? If so, please indicate specific times when you felt like you needed more guidance or where the NPCs were unclear.
Did you notice anything unusual during the process? (client crashes, error messages, items mysteriously disappearing from inventory, mysterious items appearing in inventory, etc?)
Past life feats become available once you enter the world and either level your character to their normal feat selection level, or speak with Fred to perform a feat swap. Did you select a past life feat for your character? What did you think of your past life feat?
Please include any additional comments or feedback about your reincarnation experience.

I true reincarnated my 19/1 Drow Ranger/Rogue mainly to change her from True Neutral to Lawful so I could go Monk @ later levels.

The process was fairly clear to start...I nearly backed out of the character generation screen after choosing reincarnation but completed reallocating the 30 points with no problems. Once we go live, I'm going to have to screenshot my character's face so I can get at least close to the appearance I currently have. Not a big gripe there though.

The first few levels didn't feel much harder, though I know some of the mid levels are going to go slower (Level 9 I'm looking @ you.)

The "Blue Glowy" effect every time we zone gets a bit old after a while even though it's cool at first. I haven't seen any of the double Reborn characters, are they even more glowy? (Glowier? Glowyer? Whatever.)

I will be checking my two "Reborn" characters tonight for Tomes, I didn't really pay attention while I ate mine. I can't verify the "tome didn't apply" issue as yet (will edit). EDIT: I have verified that my character is showing several +1 inherent bonuses(she's level 3 atm).

I took the Ram's Might past life feat to try it out (3 minute Ram's Might, once per rest @ level 3). I assume it will be 1min/character level as we progress. I wouldn't choose that feat since I'm relevelling this character to Rgr/Rog/Monk and will get the Ram's Might spell soon enough. Maybe a Ranger reborn to Fighter with all those feats available might throw one to the Ranger Past Life but beyond that I just don't see the bang for the buck.

Overall, being reborn has gone very smoothly for me and I'm looking forward to when it goes live.

Hope there weren't too too too many bugs reported :) I want this sucker to go live ASAP - i've been avoiding playing my capped characters so that i'm inspired to play them a ton when this finally drops.

I ture reincarnated my drow rouge. Process was easy enough to follow. I did lose a few rapiers from my inventory. It seems that everything I had in the bank was still there, but the weapons rapiers I had on me are gone. Also I noticed that the raise dead scrolls that were in my backpack before the reincarnation were still in it when I got put on Korthos, although everything else was in the reincarnation bank.

The blue phasing after loading, it's cool at first, then it just gets annoying. Maybe there could be an option to toggle it on/off?

Human Ranger19/Fighter1 at the time of True Reincarnating.

I was confused by not seeing the past life feat on character creation, but other then that, everything looks good from my experence thusly.
Did you notice anything unusual during the process? (client crashes, error messages, items mysteriously disappearing from inventory, mysterious items appearing in inventory, etc?)
Nope :)

I did select the feat, and its not very useful at level 1 being as its only 1 charge.
Please include any additional comments or feedback about your reincarnation experience.
Thought I'd add that all of my items, even those that should not have been, were in my reincarnation vault, the items I am saying should not have been in there would be the stack of arcane arrows, and the phlarian pendant.

i had like 5 items in the bank that said reward item witha serach icon. i have no idea what they were before hand but im am missing the blue dragon scale robe so one of them must be it.

What race/class was your character before they True Reincarnated? An Elf Bard.
Where you confused at any point in the process? Only at one point where I became a little worried. That was after I left the boat from Korthos, and was wondering where all my equipment was. I had already known about going to bank, but there's nothing, at least nothing clear, telling true ressurected characters to go there. And then the legacy bank (I forget the proper term) only shows a few select items. That can be issue, since it gives an appearance that not all items made it in the transfer.
Did you notice anything unusual during the process? Actually nope. Went along smoothly.
Past life feats become available once you enter the world and either level your character to their normal feat selection level, or speak with Fred to perform a feat swap. Did you select a past life feat for your character? What did you think of your past life feat? I did not take any past life feat.
Please include any additional comments or feedback about your reincarnation experience. All in all, it worked out pretty well, and much like I expected. The little symbols by a TR character are pretty nifty. I could almost see a few people using the system purely for that. I'm not sure how I feel about the constant blue glow whenever the character appears anywhere. It was neat at first, but after a while, I can see that becoming quite annoying for the player and others as well. The height difference wasn't nearly as much as I thought it was going to be. I don't believe anyone will notice unless they stand right next to someone else and are looking for it. Which is fine by me. I think looking vastly taller wouldn't accomplish much anyway.

Anyway, it all went very smoothly. There could be a little more direction, or even flavor added, but the mechanics work, and that's the important thing. Thanks for the opportunity to test this.

I reincarnated my multiclass ranger Darr 15 Ranger/ 3 Cleric / 2 Barbarian

The only issue I had in the reincarnation process was that the button that said Reincarnate was hidden. It also gives you the option of going back into your toon once reincarnated under its current level. So for example Darr could level back in as a level 20 character. I think once you choose to reincarnate it should tell you that you must reincarnate to get that character into the game.

I noticed once going into my bank that the 3 bank pages were still there. I have to wonder should we gain K favor again would this allow your characters to go to 4 and even 5 pages? I hope so because that would be a wonderful benifit.

I also checked House P,D, and J and those favor rewards were not availible. (Rightly so)

When I removed items from the bank I believe almost if not everything was there. If I was missing something I don't know what wasn't there. That is my fault for not taking inventory before I changed over. I do know that all my crafted items were waiting for me.

I did notice upon pulling out items in my saved bank that I had a item that looked like the search icon that simply said "Quest Reward" I don't know what it is. You can't use it and you also can't destroy it or do anything with it. (I wasn't going to destroy it just was checking)

Also for those wondering I believe the new cap was at 3,139,250 exp which is a bit over 1.2 million above the normal cap. Better grind that lowbe stuff a bit more all. But there are plenty of quests out there for exp.

I for one was please with everything that happened. The blue glow doesn't really bug me because I would get used to it. However it could bug other people. Maybe change it to a once everytime you log in type of aura.

Great job everyone and I hope the rest of the tests go well

Where you confused at any point in the process? If so, please indicate specific times when you felt like you needed more guidance or where the NPCs were unclear.
Because of reading the forums, I knew what the differences were between the types, and was therefore completely clear on what each type did. The steps to take seemed logical and I wasn't confused at any point. Did you notice anything unusual during the process? (client crashes, error messages, items mysteriously disappearing from inventory, mysterious items appearing in inventory, etc?) I cannot say anything out of the expected happened. Past life feats become available once you enter the world and either level your character to their normal feat selection level, or speak with Fred to perform a feat swap. Did you select a past life feat for your character? What did you think of your past life feat? I did not take the feat at creation, but rather went back to Lockania, did the quest to get the free feat, and took the past life feat with Fred. My past life feat was arcane initiate, granting me 10 magic missles per rest. The feat worked fine, cooldown timer seemed standard for a wizard's magic missle spell. I havn't determined if it is affected by metamagic feats yet, but I assume it will be.
Please include any additional comments or feedback about your reincarnation experience. I will be posting some things later once I'm done putting it together.

I did post my experiences in another thread, just wanted to throw a couple of things in here.
1) I also got the search icon item in my temp bank which simply had the description of a reward.
2) I thought the after life feat was an auto/extra feat. Its no where NEAR good enough for me to substitute for other feats. I should be free and auto.
Thats all

1 second is too long... Please let us turn off this glow plus the "wings". They are just way too geeky. It was good you couldn't tell a 28pt from a 32 pt, give people the option to keep their TR status private as well.

Yes. Past life became available and took it during level.
Like it. Too bad Drow's dont become 34 point builds... How about 32?

Bardic Dilettante's description is "You recall more about your past life as a bard. You have +1 to all Charisma based skills and can Inspire Courage three times per rest. Activate this bard ability to rally your companions, giving them a +1 morale bonus to saves against fear effects and a +1 morale bonus on attack and weapon damage rolls before enhancements."

Since morale bonuses don't stack with other morale bonuses, it's intended that it won't stack with your bard song. It does free up some songs for use for other things (fascinates and the like), and your bardic enhancements should affect it, so I wouldn't reject it as completely useless to a Bard.

reinc wf multiclass pally/ftr/rogue to wf monk

Having to buy the druidic wood was kinda annoying - I got an email saying I spent TP on it...does that mean I lose those TP on live too?

The blue glow - please lose it. It is obtrusive, and if it was getting annoying after an hour or two - imagine what it will be like to have dozens, or hundreds of people glowing on zoning in for months on end? "Hey look I am cool and I am here!"..zzzzz

The wings....ambivalent, having an option to turn it off would be nice too.

Didnt bother looking for past life feat - lionheart? They all need some kind of revamp - esp if you reinc to the same class. Having a bonus that is class based, not a side ability of the class - and that it STACKS if you reincarnate to the same class would be far, far better.

Rangers main ability if favored enemy - so add a +2/+2 to a single fe, and if they stay ranger it stacks with the main fe bonuses. Fighters could get say a +1/+1 with all weapons, paladins +1/+1 to evil maybe, or 1 smite and 1 loh per day, or 1 EXTRA if they stay pally. Barbs would get 1 extra rage, or maybe their rage gives an extra +2 to str or something.

Rams might is a side spell, and a ranger-ranger reinc will get zero benefit. Same with a pally with lionheart, ftr with a bab boost, barb rage etc.

And while this isnt really directly related to the test reinc - it kinda is - this is the respec option until something else comes along otherwise that gives a respec.

Hinting that something might be coming doesnt really help - people are going to use this to 'respec' old characters that they didnt want to delete but are basically not suitable for existing content. It is not the players fault that a build that could handle elite at level 10 or 12 or 14 cap...now cannot handle elite with the same build because monsters dont get +2 levels like players did, or +4 with mod 9, but get +5 to +10 every mod, and went from 300 hp to 3000 in 2 mods, or went from being able to hit 55 ac 'not very often' to 55 ac being next to useless 4 levels later.

So unless there is an additional repec reincarnation, maybe one that gives no build points but also gives no xp penalty, or is like a greater reinc but allows you to start fresh like a true reinc - it would be nice if people just recognized that players are going to use true reinc to respec as soon as it comes out.

As a nod to players that have been playing since day one, and possibly have a number of 'old' level 16 characters that are really no longer viable, and wasting the time to grind them up through 540,000 xp just to get to level 20 just to restart them at level 1, with a 1.6x penalty to get back to 20 again....can something be done about that?

Like say giving paid players, that had capped characters at level 16 when mod 9 landed a 'free reinc' token that bypasses both the level 20 requirement and the TP requirement of buying druidic wood - and allow those players to reincarnate as they are?

That would be really nice, and would be a real "Hey long time players thanks for playing all this time even though half your character have to keep being rerolled to keep up with new changes every 2 mods...".

I could do with or without the 2 build points - but grinding out about 4 characters that were good builds and could handle mod 4-6 stuff very well, and now are obsolete for mod 9, grinding each of those characters to 20 is like 2.2 million xp...JUST to start over from 1...not going to happen. But deleting them wastes all the time already put into them, bound items, raid items etc.

So....possible? Probable? Pretty please?

We're looking for any clue as to why you would have 5 items missing.

Most classes are feat-starved. Spending a feat to get 1 extra song is a huge waste.

Why is it intended that pretty much all past life feats are useless to the class they came from? If it provided a stacking 1+/+1 say to all existing bard songs OR gave a non-bard 3xday song....that might be useful.....

One last thought regarding this and how Veteran status may be useful. A reincarnated alt is already going to suffer a exp hit, why exclude veteran status? Let a True Reincarnation come back at level 3 or 4 and allow us to begin using some of our lowbie gear....

17 Halfling Rogue -> 1 Human Fighter

Process itself was pretty easy to follow & understand, but I think I would've been a little unsure what to expect afterwards had I not read the forums. I noticed /advice had a steady stream of "where's the cache?" type questions.

Nothing unusual or buggy.

I didn't try a past life feat, & I don't think I will to be honest (on live that is). They're nice if you have feats to spare, but nothing really jumped out at me. The Rogue damage would be nice, but the only way I'd take it is if it were passive. Personally I'd rather take a Toughness.
The one Feat I did think was nice was the Fighter's BAB boost, as I had a Rogue in mind for my final incarnation, but even then I don't know if I could justify burning a Feat, as Madstone Boots do a decent job already.

Didn't have a lot of time, but so far it seems to have gone pretty smoothly. Awaiting lvl3 to test a tome.
The no-scrolling on in the cache was slightly annoying, but from what I see everything survived.

As for suggestions:
> Would be cool to get earned consumables back (Silver Flame regen item, Portable Hole), seeing as though we get to keep the Pendant of Time
> I'm REALLY not looking forward to the favour grind. What would be nice is if every completion was rolled back one tier. I.E completed on Elite becomes completed on Hard etc. That way we still have to run them again, but can run Elite straight up for those we had on Elite already. Same for 2nd True Res.

Thanks for the XP

Cleric level 16

The process was straightforward and easy. Coupla things I noticed, I was back to 3 backpack slots, I thought I saw someone else still had his bonuses. Most of the items in my bank tabs migrated to the resurrection bank area. I ended up with 4 items that were the search icon. I didn't think to screenshot beforehand, so I dunno what they were.

Did you notice anything unusual during the process? (client crashes, error messages, items mysteriously disappearing from inventory, mysterious items appearing in inventory, etc?) I noticed that I stil had a whole bunch items in my inventory after reincarnating. Not sure if I just had way too much junk and there is a limit,or just some items didn't go to the bank. I didn't play so can't tell if anything is missing at the bank.
Past life feats become available once you enter the world and either level your character to their normal feat selection level, or speak with Fred to perform a feat swap. Did you select a past life feat for your character? What did you think of your past life feat? Dind't choose any past life feats.
Please include any additional comments or feedback about your reincarnation experience.

Coupla things I noticed, I was back to 3 backpack slots, I thought I saw someone else still had his bonuses.

bank tabs seem to stay with the amount you had before, but not backpack.

I plan on testing to see if it stays that way once you get the favor, or if they stack (which would be a neat perk IMO)

A low level bard, maybe, but at higher levels the song is way too weak, and a bard can typically get more than enough songs so that an extra one won't really matter.

Since only lvl 1-2 bards would only have +1 damage/to hit on their song... it only frees up songs for facinates on lvl 1-2 bards.

So unless by "not useless," you mean a very minor benefit for lvl 1 bards for the cost of a precious feat... then yes... it is not completely useless to a lvl 1 bard.

Only thing I have problems with is the blue glow every time I go somewhere...just like everyone else, LOL :)

Huh, it appears it even carried into the forums, although here it looks a bit magenta... :p

Actually, wouldn't an /emote for that blue glow, useable only by reincarnated, be a better option? It'd be like a slightly more exclusive form of /flex :)

I know, what are the odds right?

But, assuming someone actually has a level 20 monk, did you try to reincarnate it? And if so, did you get the past life feat? I'd love to know how long the evasion thingie lasts, and how many times per rest you can use it :)

Hey now we all know casters love to screw with the melee. This is the new hotness for just that effect. Why throw something like grease or haste (from a scroll) when you can give them a buff they think is helpful but actually is pretty weak?

You know all those shroud runs that have 7 melee, 2 casters, 2 clerics and just waiting for that one bard to click their LFM? Now you can finally join that raid and hit them with their precious +1 to hit/damage song (Bonus points if you're a virtuoso or spellsinger and don't even get the song enhancements for inspire courage).

Definitely worth the feat, in the same way that grease clicky is worth the inventory slot. Only thing is: you've probably got more than 7 inventory slots to work with.

-TcJ

P.S. Past life feats are great flavor, but really even the most useful one (Ranger, huh, what a surprise) is barely worth the slot for any class/build that isn't heavily invested in a class that gives a large number of feats by default (Fighter being the obvious one, though Ranger and Monk also give a fair smattering of feats in their own right). Please acknowledge and correct this before it goes live.

One other thing that may or may not have been addressed already is once I reincarnated, I skipped Korthos and went to the boat to head to the bank...I talked to the lady who gives you the small bags and was able to get another set, then when I opened the bank, I got my original set of small bags, thus giving me 2 sets of each. Not world breaking, but may be something to look into.

Past life feats are great flavor
...
Please acknowledge and correct this before it goes live.
They're only mediocre flavor, since (among other problems) they're not based on the D&D 3.5 books for rules or settings. The simple way to improve things would be to cancel Past Life feats (or declare them WYSWYG), and instead work on some of the following:
* Rogue, sorc, barb, and cleric capstone
* TOD set bonuses
* Wish, Miracle, Holy Word, Storm of Vengeance
* Frenzied Berserker, Ravager, Occult Slayer
* Warpriest, Exorcist, Radiant Servant
* Acrobat, Mechanic
* Warchanter, Virtuoso, Spellsinger
* Purple Dragon Knight
* Shintao, Ninja, Henshin
* Fire, Earth, Air, Water Savant
* Wildmage, Archmage, Necromage
* Weapon FVS thing, Caster FVS thing, Defensive FVS thing

Those are character options which are either malfunctioning or missing, and they're ones that players actually care about. Only a minority of players will be attracted towards the large re-grind of a True Reincarnation, and most of them will be quite unwilling to deviate from the feat choices they already use.

Nobody had been requesting or expecting Past Life feats. Discussions about how to improve their balance are missing the larger point.

I threw away the small bags on all of mine long ago. They are not worth the inventory slot once you get high level.

Past Life feats are a waste at the most part. Ranger seems worth if not going end up being a ranger in the end. Sorry at will rams might to a ranger is kind of pointless, but for a fighter or barb can be very useful. Like pastlife feats to be useful for both mixing and matching and the class you pick in the first place. As weak must them or they not worth the feats when must classes starving for that extra feat. I know my ranger, Barb, Cleric, and couple other classes sure would love couple extra feats. If brought out like they are now there use will be very limited. Hope you spice these up a bit they seem very neat idea.

Actually a barb won't have room for the feat, but a Fighter would have space for either the ranger or rogue one for a temporary damage boost... and this demonstrates a separate problem.

There aren't enough good combat feats for fighters to take up to level 20, but adding Past Life feats is a poor way to address it. Instead, they should start by making stuff like Improved Sunder, Slicing Blow, and Cleave worth using. Adding a new series of feats when the existing feats aren't balanced yet is misplaced priorities.

I agree that this is a bad way to make up for feat choices for fighters. But, the opposite side of the coin exists for wizards. The extra feats that they get could be used to pick up several useful, yet situational temporary abilities that could help make wizards attract in future lives. It also limits the use for already powerful classes like sorc and fvs who are already feat starved.

I think each class should be a mix of either enhancement choices and / or feats based on previous lives. This allows all classes (end tier classes of course since the rest are trivial) make more choices and further widen our playing options.

It just seems lame to have one course of direction as far as the availability to use true reincarnated abilities. Some options or paths could help focus a characters role. Really just throwing options out there.

True rez should be something more than the following

1) A terrible way to fix a mistake
2) A way to turn your character into something not even close to the same thing

Right now those are the only uses for it.

And also
(3) The only way to get a 34 or 36 point build.
(4) An extremely terrible way to play a newly-added low level quest at the appropriate challenge.

Clearly it would be better if players could obtain those things separately, at a different cost for each.

point taken. I think that they are weak enough that I would not waste time with them but could make for interesting RP characters. The ability points are truly what we're after so the rest is really just fluff.

They're only mediocre flavor, since (among other problems) they're not based on the D&D 3.5 books for rules or settings.

This is correct. Now, if we're going by pen and paper (since it's the universal flaw so much thinking is based on) how often do you have hundreds of characters capped out at level 20 in any campaign ever?

And even if this is the case, do you feel that p&p rules as written are designed to handle a world that is populated by a far larger amount of level 20s than level 1s?

Case and point is, this is an unusual game world since it is.. a game world. There is no permanent death. There is no mechanic for culling characters before they can reach level 20 besides a commitment of time and effort. Different rules have to be applied to a game world that is DIFFERENT from P&P. There, I said it. Shocking, I know.

Turbine's attempt with True Reincarnation is to give the hardcore players something to do besides raid with their capped out characters. Previously, this is all that they could do. While I agree that allowing characters to 'level down' in a type of mentor system that has been used in other games would be one possible solution, that is not the solution Turbine has decided to go with in this update.

Instead they are trying to offer very minuscule buffs to those characters that undergo the time and effort to experience the game again. They obviously cannot offer too much, since this will unbalance the target power of the game to favor double True Reincarnated characters (and exclude the non-hardcore). There are plenty of people perfectly happy with their capped characters -- True Reincarnation is meant as an option, not a requirement, for endgame content.

Likewise, they cannot offer too little, or there will have been no point to the feature in the first place. I agree that at present, True Reincarnation appeals to far too small a percentage of the player base. If released as it is now, I would even go so far as to say it was a waste of developer time. There are those who will do it still, sure, but that motivation is based purely on the status symbol of it and not any real incentive for more power. The 'power' gained is ridiculous in comparison to the time spent. This needs to be adjusted (although obviously not too much).

This is therefore a classic slippery slope. If they give too much, they are encouraging the pace of the game to suit that of the hardcore. If they give too little, only the most hardcore will ever do it.

The problems have been stated and repeated numerous times already:
1) Past Life feats do not meaningfully add to any existing build, and are far too expensive for any class that doesn't get a lot of feats by default.
2) Past Life feats do not give any benefit whatsoever to a character that wishes to follow the same build path for all three 'careers'.

There are other complaints here and there, but those are the biggest two. Those need to be addressed and corrected before True Reincarnation reaches Live servers.

-TcJ

P.S. I will also comment that I agree with your assessment of developer priorities. However, since True Reincarnation has gotten this far it's obvious they plan on releasing it before the other suggestions you had listed. I'd even add "make ranged combat a useful addition to party mechanics" to your list, but that's just me.

To everyone who participated and not yet given feedback:

We would like to know if you've been able to account for all your items. We have determined that the mysterious 'reward' item is not a valid item (it merely represent a quest reward that was never chosen) and all our internal testing has positive in the sense that we haven't lost any items.

That said, we would really like to hear back from those who tried True Reincarnation. If you feel certain that you have lost item(s), please post here accordingly and mention the name of the character affected.

Please help - we'd like to get the update out as soon as possible. :-)

Thanks.

I True Reincarnated 2 characters, so the feedback for both is below.

1] Drow 15 Rogue / 3 Paladin / 2 Fighter -> reincarnated to a WF 2Ftr/1Mnk (18/2 end goal)
and Drow 13 Monk / 6 Ranger / 1 Rogue -> reincarnated to an Elf 1Rgr/1Mnk/1Rog(18/1/1 end goal)

2] The Reincarnation NPC was somewhat hard to find.. I found him using the map, but getting up there was a task in and of itself.. You should have to be lvl20 *OR* be a Mario wiz but not both! :D

3] When talking to the Reincarnation NPC, the option to continue was grayed out even once I had purchased a Heart of Wood. Canceling and starting the process over again allowed me to complete.
After the TR, I was able to extract most of the items from my Cache, but only because we still had all 3 bank tabs -- had I not had those, I would have been strapped for places to stick stuff and as it is, the Rogue still has a bucket of stuff in the Cache, with only minimal space left in his Inventory to support adventuring.

4] I was able to swap in Past Life feats on both characters via Fred, but in the case of the monk, I went back and swapped it out again on Saturday (is the 3-day timer not being enforced on Llama or is that a bug in and of itself) as 30-seconds of evasion per rest really isn't all that useful - particularly with activation-lag that causes you to lose a couple of those seconds anyway.
I was surprised to not see them on the feat selection screen during character creation, as that is where one would most likely imagine them being -- seeing as how the character already qualifies.

5] I wouldn't mind having the opportunity to get leveled back to 20 again (I'm not a quick leveler and only got the two characters to lvl3 over the weekend - still haven't gotten *any* of my live characters to 20 for that matter :D) to test out a second TR.
My second account does not have 32-point builds available on Lamannia, but I was to create a 34-point elf when TRing. I wasn't sure if that is a bug, or by design - but thought it worthy of mentioning.

Ok, taking my 2nd char through TR:

I went from L20 Drow Sorc to Dorf Cleric.

Why can't we change our sex? In my case I wanted to go from drow (where I never play males, WAY too fugly) to dwarf, where I prefer the male avatar. I can't figure out why you would stop that (even if it might lead to odd names)
why can't we choose the past reincarnation feat during initial recreation? At least give us a feat exchange token for Fred so we can swap if we want.
For that matter...why not let us change the first name if we want?
I was inspired to change race in part because I knew I couldn't duplicate my old look...please let us keep our old look as default if we keep our old race
all 5 inventory pages were full and I was wearing a few items pre TR. Post TR I only had 1 random robe in my new inventory, odd that it wasn't all or nothing
Two items appears to have been lost. I took before and after screenshots but with 107 items pre TR and 105 post TR it may take a bit to try and figure out what was lost
Ate an unbound ML0 dex tome as soon as I got to the bank. Tome gone, no change in dex score

I didn't really make my account in time so I started with some turbine points
but no chars so I figured it wouldn't be all that much use to do harbor again
for beta I think that is still working fine :-P I leave reincarnation for you guys
test hehe.
Though I did notice two of the UIs I've picked up had issues, but every
update give customize UIs more issues. They are kinda of neglected though
I am pretty sure everyone would rather have a new adventure zone and
reincarnation vs an custom interface or a search in the ah :-P Thought adjustable
font sizes on things other than chat would be really useful in a future patch, bad
vision. I might head back in to figure out what changed that messed with my UI
and see if I can post an update but It could be anything from my end or theirs.
Like I said UI is flaky... I will check it out tomorrow if I get time.

Things sounding good for beta though Good job Turbine

nope .. normal xp .. i got my pair of TRs up to level 3, but without a quicker way back to 20 and it becoming a bigger grind to gain each level, I'm finding myself back on Thelanis again..
Hopefully we'll get a chance to either vastly increase the available XP or a Dev will wheel out the 'xp-granting golem' that I saw the one weekend around Mod2 (or was it mod3?) that they opened ML up to a bunch of folks.. We'll ask that you send feedback via to the same email address (ddo@turbine.com). Tolero will post details in a separate thread.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Has anything changed since Rd 2? Is there anything specifically to test? Has there been an update to Lamannia?

There have been minor bug fixes etc and a new version is going up tomorrow.

Perhaps you have enough people testing True Reincarnation on Lamannia, maybe not. (Methinks this is why the level requirement is going down?)

Can we expect to see a character refresh on Lamannia at any time in the near future. There are 'a lot' of returning players with high-level characters that would 'really' like to help debug and feedback on the new content, but cannot commit their valuable play time to leveling characters on Lamannia. Possible? Timeframe?

Respect.

Was trying to test out a few things in preparation for another True Res, but all of the Yug favor quests are down (Sins, New Invasion, etc.). Will these be up after tomorrow's update?

did You Participate In madfloyd's True Reincarnation Event (http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=207512) On Lamannia? We've Already Received Very Good Feedback From Users Who Participated, And Several Errors Have Already Been Identified And Are Being Worked On. In The Meantime We're Still Looking For Your Responses On Your Experience With True Reincarnation!

what Race/class Was Your Character Before They True Reincarnated? (please Include Any Multiclassing)drow, 1 Rogue/19 Monk Also My Dwarf,20 Cleric
where You Confused At Any Point In The Process? If So, Please Indicate Specific Times When You Felt Like You Needed More Guidance Or Where The Npcs Were Unclear. Well I Started The True Reincarnation And Stopped The Process Then Started It Again Because I Messed Up Toward The End And Wanted To Start Over And Figured Exiting The Character Generator Was Faster, Not Sure If That's What Caused My Items To Exit My Inventory (before I Had Done My Cleric And Her Inventory Items Remained Inside Her Inventory) But They Entered The Bank And The Bank Does Not Show The Entire List Of Items So I Had To Pull Things Out (thereby Filling My Fresh 3 Bags Of Inventory Space And The Bags In The Bank.) To Make Sure I Had My Items
did You Notice Anything Unusual During The Process? (client Crashes, Error Messages, Items Mysteriously Disappearing From Inventory, Mysterious Items Appearing In Inventory, Etc?) yes A Item That Looks Like The Search Icon Appeared In My Cache Bank Called Reward And When I Pulled It Out, I Can't Delete It, And Can't Get Rid Of It, It Is Very Annoying To Have This Item With No Way To Get Rid Of It
past Life Feats Become Available Once You Enter The World And Either Level Your Character To Their Normal Feat Selection Level, Or Speak With Fred To Perform A Feat Swap. Did You Select A Past Life Feat For Your Character? What Did You Think Of Your Past Life Feat? No, I Refuse To Use A Real Feat For These Little Things
please Include Any Additional Comments Or Feedback About Your Reincarnation Experience. Well I Must Say Solo Leveling Is Not Easy On Lamannia. I Won't Be Able To Really Test Until It's On Live Because I Get Tired Of Solo Play Easily. My Chick Is Lvl 2.

Star-1 on lamma began as a human 2 paladin/18 rogue, and true reincarnated to a lvl 1 human rogue. Star has since leveled to lvl 2 rogue.

The only confusion I had was where to find Kruz (though someone pointed me in the right direction pretty fast), and where I would get my items back (again, a friend pointed me to the bank).

I noticed no unusual effects. I had both bound and unbound items, both empty and full container bags, and both damaged and undamaged goods, as well as several named items, favor rewards, and static quest items. I kept carefull track of everything I had before and after the TR, and not a single item was missing. Also every copper of the roughly 3.8mill pp on my character was accounted for.

All in all, I can't wait to use TR on live.

This. I have chars that are high enough, but, they've never been ported to Lamannia. A char refresh (or even allowing my level 9 on Lamannia to cap out) would allow me to help in the testing. I'm *really* excited about this feature and would like to see it implemented properly. I'd love to help. So much so, I'm one of 5 people on Lam now =)

Slightly less successful this time around.
Original character was 18wiz/2 fighter, reincarnated at the very first event.
Became 11 Fighter/9 wiz. Reincarnated today and started out as a Wizard, but was unable to pick any spells. My character is sitting as a level 1 wizard with 3 spell slots and 0 spells.

Free past life feats do not show up at character creation as being applied, even though they show up once the character has been rolled.

Of additional note:
did not have additional bank tabs like the first reincarnation, though I don't know if that is because this toon lacked the favor, or if having them was a code oversight and was fixed.

Wizard metamagic bonus feats appear to allow you to take not only metamagic feats, but also mental and improved mental toughness, as well as spell focus feats.

Korthos items transfer in the cache.

that's all for now, time to head off to work.
