I was wondering if the rogue sneak attack works with ranged weapons and on people running towards you.

I'm planning on a Bow ranger (even though it's gimpy, I know) to Arcane Archer, and I'm wondering if it's worth it to take a few levels of rogue for the skills and the sneak attack factor.

Don't do ranged - its damage is really gimped compared to melee

Yes, sneak att works w/ ranged, but you need to be really really close to whatever your shooting (30 ft? I think it is)

Though if you are going ranged ranger, plan for the capstone (level 20 ranger = +25% ranged speed)

It works aslong as you close to them (about the radius of a Haste?). If they're running towards you because you're attacking them you won't get sneak attacks.
