WOW, Super cheat ;

Upgrades your account with Veteran Status. This feature allows you to make new characters who start the game at level 4 instead of level 1! Without this account purchase, you can still unlock Veteran Status on a specific server via the total Favor reward.
Level: 4+
Classes: All
Uses: 1

It saves your average real veteran (who can afford to equip their new character with reasonable gear and who knows how best to level) about an hour of playing time. Maybe 2 tops.

It's a nice free bonus, that's about it.
In much the same way as Dark Age of Camelot eventually allowed you to start new characters at level 20 (their cap is 50) as an incentive to make new characters, this does the same thing.

Perhaps call it a 'Jump Start' or 'Ready To Kick Some Axe!' bonus or something. If you can buy it, calling it a Veteran anything seems a bit of a misnomer, hehe.

Yeah, level 1-4 is about an hour if you do it right.
I wish they had done it like the Blood Knight (I think, I forget the name) but in WoW you can unlock the new class and start at 50/80

I agree. 1-4 is about an hour of playing. What's the point?
How about make it level 8 instead of 4?

Would that make it "Grizzled Veteran" status? :D

I see a pattern here, and if Turbine can make money at it we'll soon see it in the store.

If it was 5000 turbine points for a lvl17 or capped toon.. then we should be worried

I'd pay it in a heartbeat. Probably a few times....

Only times I really PUG is levelling up new guys so I wouldn't worry about the age old arguement that we would have capped toons running around that don't know how to play their class (besides I see enough of that already without this mechanic).

If they can make lvl 4 purchaseable, bet you they'd eventually sell a level 20 pack. Instant reroll! but with Reincarnation it's probably not worth while :)

Edited to balance some of the grief it would cause the playerbase

I like this addition.

Most players will earn 1000 favor around the time they hit the level cap (closer to 1750 if they strive for favor). So this is effectively free to high level players.

Want to muck around and see if a new class is fun to play and worth rolling an alt in? It's quicker to do so now.

Got a build you want to get to level 20 fast? The first 2% is done for you :)

Want to sell more Copper Levelling Sigils in your DDO store? Done! (People will be less likely to loot one if they start at 4)

Brand new to the game and want to start at level 4 so you can have no idea how to swing a sword at that level? You can't! Earn level 4 yourself once, then try again.

Half of me expects to see a 3000 favor reward that lets you start at level 8. This would sell well (as a small minority of players have or are close to attaining 3000 favor) and 4-8 takes a LOT longer than 1-4 does.
