Not sure everyone caught this as was answered in the least popular of the three Reincarnation threads, but here is what Eladrin said:

With Lesser (and Greater) Reincarnation, your tomes will gradually re-apply themselves as you increase in level, at the minimum levels tomes can be applied at.

If you ate a +3 strength tome, for instance, and then lesser reincarnated, you would get a +1 inherent bonus strength at level 3, +2 at level 7, and +3 at level 11.

The thread is here:

Not sure it is what everyone wanted to hear (especially those that ate a +2 INT Tome at lvl 1), but it satisfies me as it would totally suck if we lost all our tomes!

not to mention that the Beta DevTracker isn't working and the regular DevTracker isn't picking up the Llama threads..

to actually reply to your post though .. I would be more happy if True Resurrection did the same -- It's already enough of a grind to take the character to level 20 twice, without having to grind the raids for new tomes. And some of us that don't play all that much don't have libraries of +1/+2 tomes laying around to throw at Resurrected characters either.. :(

If you just want to redistribute your skill points or ability scores, then sure that's great.

I, however, am content with my character choices and would most likely only reincarnate to gain the additional powers that come with true reincarnation. Doing so will set me back a year in (+3) tomes as it stands now.

The only piece of info that would settle that would be how the new life feats come into play. Until we hear that, deleting tomes (some of which I am still in debt for) is out of the question.

as far as the reincarnation is concerned i am happy that my 28 point 3 year old sorcerer is gonna get 32 points :D

I am not really going to be using the true reincarnation feature I think. I like my sorc at level 20 now :)

Sorry, but you had almost an hour to post it yourself!

And do NOT blame work, my productivity went to totally ZERO as soon as I saw how busy Tolero and the Dev's have been :D.

I have a few Guildies who will love that feature as they have their original characters at or near 20 as well. I made so many mistakes with my first two that I rerolled them long ago. The only 28 pointer I have left is my Mule Kenzee and I may actually use some Turbine Points someday on her as she did eat that +2 DEX Tome when they could be eaten by accidentially double clinking on them, so maybe I will start playing her :).

I can not see using the True Reincarnation feature for a while - but in a year or so, I may just do so with one or more of them - who knows...

I think Turbine shooting themselves in the foot. Most Vet's will not respect toons, I am one of those individuals due to losing tomes.

28 pt build gets upgraded to 32 but gets to keep tomes, yet true reincarnation does not?

This is a gold mine for Turbine in terms of people breaking out credit cards to pay the turbine points for respect, and most vets probably wont touch because losing 1-6 +3 tomes per toon.

My rogue needs this, but I have +3 tomes in each stat catetory so dropping those will result in my not respecting her or other toons, whereas, no brainer if i were to keep tomes I would probably respect every toon to add benefit here and there. That's 9 toons at say 1000-1500 turbine pts or $12-$20 per toon....

Might want to rethink this guys...

Just my 2 cents.

Looks like a lot of people are unhappy with the true reincarnation as you loose your tomes, but how much difference is there really between an unbound +2 tome that you can get from AH and a +4 from the new raid?
+1 to hit and +2 to damage for ftrs/barbs
+1 AC for dex builds
+1 DC for casters
+1 to relevant skills
IMHO the ability to fix some bad build decisions from 3 years ago *cough* heal skill *cough* is worth it.

Not to mention the fact that they can simply dump 1 of those extra 4 build points into INT and never notice the difference.

Making us lose tomes is a really bad idea.

That's a very fair approach and will help as many as it hurts.

Well you only lose them on True and you do get 2 extra build points in exchange. I do agree though it would be nice if they ended up as bound and level restricted tomes in your inventory. As it is I suspect power gamers will now start not eating +3/+4 tomes during their first life unless they get multiples. That means less tome sharing in raids...the power gamer now needs 3 +3 str tomes per char (one per life) where as in the past after the first one they'd put it up for a roll. I'm not sure that's good for the game, its definately not good for more casual players.

A tad confused...

Are the stat points from the Tomes apportioned at the respective minimum levels of a +1, +2 or +3 Tome despite what level we ate them at?

If I ate a +3 Int tome, for instance, at level 15...ostensibly I would think that it wouldn't give me any bonus until I respec level 15 during my reincarnation. However, from what is posted it would seem that I would start getting extra skill points earlier. Am I correct or did I misunderstand?

you get +1 at 3, +2 at 7 and +3 at 11

yes, if you ate it later, you have more skillpoints

Which is why this will benefit more people than it hurts

indeed it will how many people actually ate +3 int tomes at lvl 11 ? i would venture to guess not many most ate em at 16 as that was the cap for so long so there is 4 skill points potentially made up from not eating a +2 at level 1 . it will actually benefit quite a few builds :)
