View Full Version : Compromise: Categorizing the Runes?

So I understand Turbine wants to leave the runes random, but the players are frustrated as to how many runes they have to go through to get a specific one (especially in the case of Levvik & Glaciation where there's no good enough... only exact). There's also a ton of waste in unused runes.

It might be a lot less annoying and favor party dynamics if instead of every rune being listed as "Sovereign Rune" or "Eldritch Rune", they were slightly categorized as "Sovereign Guard Rune", or "Tempest Stat Rune" and if there's a few that don't fit a category you can always add "___ Special Rune" category. This would foster a lot more rune trading in the chests, as well as players looking for an exact rune have more of a benefit to using Draconic Runes and at least narrowing down to the right category. Though it still leaves some amount of randomness to the runes.

Removes Some Frustration, leaves some randomness, more party sharing/trading.

Total changes required in the system: minimal - hopefully only renaming.

/signed. the grind for runes does suck...only to end up getting something crappy you already had a few times before. like reasonance 8.

I think that might be a reasonable suggestion. Complete unmasking of runes would probably make it too easy to get what you want, whereas its currently far too hard (on average).

They should also remove multiple versions of the same effect and think about moving a couple of the weak tier 3 effects to tier 2 (it's strange that the rarest tier is also associated with the most possible effects).
