Of the many great things the Compendium has brought to us, I find the code for the drop-down menus in the navigation sidebar to be one of the foremost.

That is, if I knew how they were coded. I would truly like to implement similar menus on my own wikis.

Does anyhone know the specific code for these particular drop-down menus? I've found plenty of instructions for implementing separate drop-down menus (which is what I currently use for my wikis), but I've no idea how to give the navigation sidebar submenus.

Thanks fer yer help, wiki wizards.

They seem to have only needed to add *'s to their Sidebar page (http://compendium.ddo.com/wiki/MediaWiki:Sidebar) as be seen (http://compendium.ddo.com/index.php?title=MediaWiki:Sidebar&action=edit).

Not sure if it's an extension I don't know or a feature of a more recent MediaWiki than the one I am familiar with.

Part of it is defining the menu structure in the Mediawiki 'sidebar'; more information can be found in Mediawiki's doc on the subject (http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Manual:Navigation_bar).

The drop-down menu effect happens via the jquery (http://jquery.com/) plugin jdMenu (http://jdsharp.us/jQuery/plugins/jdMenu/).
