In honor of the anniversary, we're focusing on guilds that have been around for a few years.

Guild: Lifetakers and Heartbreakers
Server: Ghallanda
Recruitment Thread: http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=174959

About The Guild: Teamwork: We take care of each other, and ensure that everyone shares a successful role in the adventures. Though we still zerg on some of the quests, our motto remains "No Lifetaker Left Behind!"

Fun: We like getting experience points and quality loot as much as the next player, but the enjoyment of playing the game and the camaraderie it brings remain our primary goals. The occasional party wipe can be just as fun as your 20th Shroud completion in L&H!

Reality: We know that real life comes first. If your spouse/kids need you, work calls or you need to drop off in the middle of an adventure due to a real-life crisis, we understand. We’ll wait if necessary. We have grown to be such a close-knit group of friends that we'll have plenty to talk about in the meantime…

The bottom line is this: DDO is a game. It’s meant to be fun and to be social. That means that we will likely not be the first guild to beat the new quest on elite, or to have all capped characters within a week of playing the game. But we will guarantee you that we’ll have the best time doing it…

I know plenty of guilds say "we focus on the fun", but I assure you that the Lifetakers TRANSCEND fun. We're FAMILY. Check us out at LHGUILD.ORG (http://lhguild.org/)

Helping new or returning players, one topic at a time!

DDO Dictionary: BAB (Acronym)
Definition: Standing for “Base Attack Bonus”, an attack roll bonus derived from character class and level. Base attack bonuses increase at different rates for different character classes. A character may gain additional attacks as his or her base attack bonus increases. Base attack bonuses gained from different classes, such as when a character is a multiclass character, stack.

In a world where threads are tasty and posts are food, one Cube has chosen a question.
Now he's looking for answers...

This Week's Question, Tolero (http://forums.ddo.com/member.php?u=100240) asks:
DDO will be celebrating its three year anniversary! What is one thing in DDO that has changed since launch that you're happy about?

This week's answers:
Jefro (http://forums.ddo.com/member.php?u=31926) says: Parties do not necessarily need specific classes or even clerics now. It so much easier to have good survivability without a cleric.

Hendrik (http://forums.ddo.com/member.php?u=26190) says: Heather Sincalir's re-work of the Enhancement system. IMO, the greatest gameplay change made to DDO.

tasthesose (http://forums.ddo.com/member.php?u=147778) says: My favorite additions to the game have been the outdoor explorer areas. These areas helped flesh out the world and let us all have an easier and more free form way to get some experience between quests.

In the beginning of DDO's life, there were no Gelatinous Cubes in the game. The Cube has "encouraged" those pesky developers to include replicas of itself, so that The Cube can terrorize you in the game, and on the forums.
- Your friend, The Cube

Next week's question, Lanuric (http://forums.ddo.com/member.php?u=36685) asks:
Does anyone know of a decent shuriken other than Vorpal (doesnt do much dmg) or a Greensteel Shuriken (which I am making in absence of)?

A weakening enfeebling or a holyburst silver of greater evil outsider bane, would be some of the better combinations. With monk likely the only class that could make use of shurikens well enough, it is still a very underused weapon due to fact of low base damage and usually slower attack speed unless monk.

Maybe Tharagrim will make a Raid Shuriken? Currently there only one named Shuriken called the snowstar in game.

there is also a named shuriken that appears on the STK reward list. i think it is keen with deception on it. i wish there was better shuriken out there. i also wish wind stance would give you ki when you throw shuriken.

My Drow cleric on Thelanis is holding onto a +3 Holy shuriken of Grtr Giantbane until my Monk gets high enough to use it.. .It wouldn't be bad in GH/Tor if they improve the 1000 stars enhancement to make the fire rate SIC! :D It is good enuff to tick off Dem Bigguns!!

There's also a shuriken in the end rewards list of Co6, it's +2 Icy Burst, it's name is Snowstar.

+1, Keen, +3 Deception, Returning
Still not much damage but I have hit mobs from distance and they don't seem to know where it came from. Takes a number of throws but they do die, without ever knowing what hit them :D

Keep up those amazing stories!

*And cleans off the screen from all those burst out laughing moments...often involving lava.*

As for the best weapon asked by the poster Our Beloved Cube wishes an answer, I'll attempt to share what I have:

Shrunken are simply not a good weapon for a main attack overall. Yes the before mentioned one and the Ice Star I think offered from the Co6 (I also believe it's impact) just do not work well as primary weapons. As monks, MAYBE if a high STR, having halfling thrown bonuses chosen, and/or that 10,000 stars (IMHO not worth it,) could make a difference. But realistically, they are used when an enemy is out of a monk's primarily used melee attack, when you wish to "tenderize" an enemy before engaging, or attacking an enemy that cannot attack you until you close, but you can attack them (think "Information is Key"'s beginning and other higher quests.)

But, by all means, if anybody DOES find an effective option, please DO post it here! I'd love a solution also!

(Oh and of course, ALL HAIL THE CUBE!)
