The following guilds are looking for more adventurers. Learn more about them here!

House of Penton, of the Argonnessen server

Recruitment Thread: http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=164122
"House of Penton is a guild of people from levels 1 and up. We are a fun loving guild made up of friendly players. We enjoy having a good time with no pressure. We don't like drama, whiners, or quitters. Some of us have kids so we do understand if you have to leave unexpectedly. We just don't like people to leave us high and dry for no reason. If you just injoy playing DDO with good patient people this may be the guild for you. We make no demands and expect none to be made. New players are welcome same as old."Valhalla, of the Ghallanda server

Recruitment Thread: http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=166527
"Mission Statement – The mission of this guild is to offer a challenging perma-death style of play to the DDO community that emulates the pen and paper style which made D&D famous. To offer a setting which has structure while maintaining flexibility, and a place that emphasizes a cooperative style and the use of classic Pen and Paper strategy and tactics in a friendly environment."Holy Warriors, of the Khyber server

Compendium Page: http://compendium.ddo.com/wiki/Holy_Warriors
"We are a guild of players with mature attitudes that work together in and out of quests, helping each other whenever we can.

We are a family guild with members that span all age ranges, including many husband/wife and parent/child teams that play together. For these reasons, member language is expected to be clean and civil during all times on party and guild chat as well as over any form of voice chat. "Untouchable, of the Sarlona server

Compendium Page: http://compendium.ddo.com/wiki/Untouchable
"One of the more important things is for the players in this guild to have a good time while playing; we often poke fun at each other and talk about our day. We are a group of experienced and mostly 2+ years players. On weekdays 6pm – 10pm est is the most active, on weekends it could be at any time.We do a lot of raids, or if someone needs some loot we go do some loot runs. Every so often we roll up new toons and normally have a couple guildies at that level to help level up. "The Inner Sanctum of Boldrei, of the Thelanis server

Compendium Page: http://compendium.ddo.com/wiki/The_Inner_Sanctum_of_Boldrei
"We are a group of adults who want to enjoy the experience of DDO with unique, like-minded individuals who are dedicated to having fun. We are family and couples oriented and understand that sometimes the needs of our families might interrupt our play time, however, we try to limit those occurrences to as few as we possibly can. Our play style is geared toward exploration and enjoyment of the quest instead of gaining levels in a hurry (the exception being if an entire party agrees to a quick quest run). We operate on a 'need before greed' basis when determining loot disbursement, and our focus is on integrity, honesty and applying “the golden rule” to our guild-mates."

This is pretty pointless Tarrant.
No offense.

I just simply gotta ask. Does anyone think that those who regularly use the forums actually wait for the Chronicle to come out every week to have all the news tidbits in one place?

Personally using the dev tracker daily and using DDOreports is about all anyone needs anymore. I just don't see the point of the Chronicle other than perhaps to show noobs where to initially find stuff.

/looking forward to next week's capstone preview

I think you nailed it with the noobs... they need some sort of "news letter"(?) for people who have never used the forums before. Funny, I just received my E-mailed newsletter today talking about the Festivus that has been going on for awhile now. (I am feeling VERY cynical today, so I will stop here before I get any infractions)

Well, there would be a point if it wasent all random.
They select guilds at random, and builds at random.
So ya, pointless.

Is it just me or is the Town Crier going the way of the WDA?

This week he had two things to tell us, both of which were things that were on the forums 2+ days ago.

Any body else notice that tarrants oozo seems to be holding a broom now? kinda random I know. It's the Christmas Candles, silly!

(excuse my lack of religous-based knowledge... I think it has to do with Hanukkah, not Christmas. The lines are somewhat blurred, it's all "Christmas-themed" to me if it's related to this time of year).

Yep, its a Menorah/hanukiah (whatever you want to call it) from Hanukah

Some people don't check the forum religiously, so having this information consolidated in one handy place, that's advertised on the front page of the forums, is great.

And lets face it; if you really don't like it, it's just another thread. And there's a lot of trash threads on the DDO forums.

Keep up the good work!

Game Tip of the Week

Many USB-compatible gamepads can be configured to control your character in DDO. Just plug your gamepad in and look in the Game Options to configure it!

For a somewhat more useful tip regarding the use of gamepads with DDO, go have a gander at this guide I started for doing such:
http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=153100

And, no, it is not just a shameless plug, others have posted their own controller configurations on their as well, so someone new to the concept will have a variety of opinions and configurations for this.

That would be awesome to get a sneak-preview of Mod 10 Loot! Sadly, the rest of Stormreach are in the midst of Mod.8... Just to shed some light on things!:D

when did oozes have sub-races and religions? (Jew is also a race as they can trace a bloodline back to Abraham and Sarah and linnage is done on the mother's side.)

Can we see a Buddhist ooze with genetic links to Kahn?
How about a Baptist Anglican pudding brood?

(Nevermind, the Kahn ooze thought it was the OTHER kind of pudding and "absorbed" it.

But the biggest question of all is:

Is the Gelatinous Cube an aethist? It's obvious from all that's melted into it (including the owlbear [*sniff*]) that it's a mixed race cube of course :p

Oh well, until these answers are found: I wish you a happy Chaunakah and Merry Christmas, a good Kwanza and any other Winter Solstice celebrations (including the Winder Solstice circle one) you do this year, and a happy new year whenever it is on your calender!

Edit: upon closer examination, it could be interpreted that the ooze is not Jewish, celebrating the Festival of lights, but just ate a festive celebrator and is now working on the Mennorah (gulp!)

A religious devourring ooze, the HORROR, the....well, if it's organized religion, maybe not that bad :p
