I was looking through the compendium and could not find the answer.

How exactly is wisdom one of the pally's main stats?

What does it affect?

Your ability to cast spells and your mana.

I believe to cast spells you need at least a 14 WIS, but this can be achieved through wearing items.

So a base of 8 with a +6 item will allow you to cast spells.

A'course you'll have to wait till level 13 to wear that +6 WIS item.

So with a +2 Wis tome you would be able to cast as soon as you have house P buffs.

To cast paladin spells, you need at least (10 + spell level) wisdom. Paladins only get up to 4th level spells, so a 14 wisdom would cover all spell levels. Items can be used to reach this, but I'd rather give myself a 14(Or lower if you plan on using a tome to increase it) wisdom score to start with. That way, you never have to worry about keeping an item slot dedicated solely to wisdom just to be able to cast spells.

Slots are very tight on a Paladin...this isn't bad advice...
