I have the following idea and would like to see it implemented. Development time cannot be much really and I believe it would be a lot of fun and also very powerful game feedback and tactics can be attained by their use.

Here goes:

Creation of basically a Holo-Deck -a la PvP- where you can select from a list:

a) The Opponent you wish to battle. (any from current list from Kobolds to Living Spells & Orthon´s +)
b) The Difficulty Setting (N / H / E)
c) The Quantity.
d) The Environment. (Could be any existing quest environment or say 3-5 to choose from like Arenas)

Once you zone in you have 1 minute to buff and go at it.

I personally would enjoy this feature as something I would use to measure the effectiveness of different AC/DPS ratios, as well as Spells, Saves, Tactics, etc...

What do you think?

Great idea. What about using the slayer area's? Less specific choice but functionally the same.

I´ve done it but to get to a certain Mob you have to buff up, drop a haste pot, u can and will get unwanted visitors, etc..

Like I mentioned originally the purpose is to be able to measure your 3 Tanks one after another VS a certain Mob, evaluate, etc...

Let´s say you want to fight 3 Mind Flayers? Where do you go?

That'd be fun. I'd also love to fight some opponent (or object) that just "bounces" any attack / spell back at you. Would be great to check stuff like DCs, effect durations, etc.

Sounds like kinda a neat idea. I know a lot of folks have certain mobs they go pick on when they get a new level, or bit of gear. Helps to gauge it's effectiveness.

Agreed... Would be nice to see what works best(Weapons and such) and tactics to use.

the landscapes already there thrashk arena would be a perfect choice, you could even have spectators and betting

I like it!

Combination Duelling Arena Vs. Game Controlled Mobs OR you could convert them to a PVP Arena with Spectators (of course spectators are behind plexiglass and cannot jump in-buff or anything)

Betting would take a whole new direction!

Cloning just the central piece of Tharashk Arena from von1 for the space, and then adding an interface for mob selection would work out nicely. That interface could simply be a number of additional gated rooms, each with respawning mobs inside. You open the gate to get to, or let out, the mobs you want to fight. And if you leave the promoter's gate, with some mechanism to let the spectators in (or the gladiators out...) more fun for all!

I like the idea in general, and what it would let you do efficiently, as well as the fun that could be had with spectating, betting or whatever else. Will my paladin kill more Elite orthons if he spends enhancements on additional Lay-on-hands, or on more Smite Evil attempts? Can my ranger kill more devils more efficiently with one of these two bows, in melee with vorpals, or through con damage? Should my bard run screaming any time a mindflayer shuffles down the hall? What can my wizard do solo against an already-agro'd beholder? Can my character kill more mobs than your character in the same amount of time?

I know what I _think_ the answers are to those questions, but Dex's idea is a way to figure these things out, and have a lot of fun in the process.
